I talked to Jared at O.T.G. and Voids LE adviser is still a full time cop with real gunfights under his belt and has trained with Orion Training Group as well.

I'm looking forward to trying Commander Mode, that sounds way cool. Can't wait. (and as a mainly solo player, thank fuck they've reworked friendly AI lol)

Hearing that you’ve never played solo, I think it’d be a good idea to play solo for an hour or two tonight so when the update comes out tomorrow you could see firsthand how big a difference it would have made.

This makes me almost emotional to see how far they gone. As someone grew up on Rainbow Six series and loved Rainbow Six 3: Ravenshield and Swat4 and saw this FPS genre go all but extinct, being revitalized about 20 years later (crazy) and after seeing the new features I feel even surpassing the old giants, im beyond happy.

You offered some pretty solid critiques. It would be cool if they added the option to zipper or use the dump left/dump right style of entry during breaches.

Honestly seems like the best AI team ive ever seen in any game. They really are going all out with the AI and i cant wait to see what else they add

This is going to be awesome! The commander mode reminds me of SWAT 2, where you couldn't use the officers when they were wounded or killed.

I can't wait for this update, no frustration solo runs!!! None of my mates wanna buy the game even though it's right up their alley and I can only stand 1 mission at a time because the AI pisses me off. I'd love to see some sort of voice command system in the future too!

I see your point on the 1st man pieing the opening to enter the room (at 10:30 ish), that's how I was taught too. Not sure if this is an oversigth or just they were advised this way. Would be great if you could modify these tactics in options menu for your liking. Could be useful for other tactics as well, because CQB is taught in almost as many ways as there are instructors (a bit of an exaggeration) and as you mentioned some are "unit SOP" adjacent. For example, would be cool if you are in an open opening as no. 1 man on a split stack and you, put your gun on low port (or high port) which would give the 2. man on the other side of the opening a silent and instant go-signal to enter. But at this point were just splitting hairs, and that feels awesome!

This might be what I need to get back into Ready Or Not again. It was the reason I bought a PC & started gaming again to begin with. Looking forward to trying it out when I get home.

I'm blown away by the level of tactical technicity that has been given to the AI and while I do 100% agree with you about the details that could make all of this even better I'm convinced that with our feedback those things could improve even more (like the 3 and 4 looking where they should instead of doing just the same as 1 and 2).

wow! very they had left early access in a weird spot and the drip feed of almost nothing the last year or so has been a concern, but clearly they were hard at work in the kitchen cooking up features that actually have me excited to try the game again! really looking forward to this

alot of these new features were things supporter edition owners were calling for in the early days of the Alpha, good to see alot of it was adopted. I must say the devs communication on the discord has always been great, allowing players and even SWAT SME's to have a voice in providing feedback.

I’ve been playing RoN for a while now after seeing one of your early videos. It’s always been fun, but since the newest update it’s like a whole new game, usually I’d just more or less solo the entire map, with the ai maybe watching my back. Now, I can rely on the ai to watch angles, move properly, clear rooms. It’s gone from a 3 in fun to 8.

I hope co-op gets some kind of progression system in it as well, and I would really like to see co-op with AI mixed in because I often play with just just 2 players and even though we try to compensate with extra modded grenade slots it's a struggle. Either way I'm glad the single player gets an upgrade so I can play on my own whenever I want. Usually half of my solo missions end up with the AI breaching and just standing in the middle of the blown open door and getting shot at while trying to throw a flashbang

Now that I have a couple hours with 1.0. The enemy head snapping you is gonna need a fix. Literally getting headshot through walls, glass, around corners etc. The improvements are huge, but the enemy is a bit irritating at their ability to instantly dome you.

All the criticisms you made, aside from the split stack entry, are things I've brought up. I also noticed in at least one instance at 11:20 , the 2 man went deep in the room, while 4 ended up rolling around behind him to check dead space in the corner. Would have liked to see the number 2 take that dead space, and number 4 continue past to go deep. There's a decent amount of time that number 2's back is exposed to that dead space before the 4 man gets a muzzle in it.

Can't wait to be a bigger threat to my teams stress level than any other factor in this game

You definitely highlighted perfectly my two biggest gripes about the new tactics. The only other thing I've seen that made me cringe, was the new 1911 animations, and the thumbing the hammer back on draw... Oof... Other than that, there's so much cool stuff coming with v1.0. This game truly has an awesome modding community, too, so I'm sure they will tidy up a lot of our geeky nitpicks.

As a swat officer myself, this is what those like me who are passionate about team tactics have dreamed of for a long time. Well done devs for creating a game that we can use to practice our passion whenever we can

been waiting for actual progression to be added to the game, kinda hoping they add a money system so you can buy things for your unit or police department

Excited for this, however, would like ability to take bigger teams - clearing a multi-floor medical centre safely with 5 people is an ask. Also you need to be able to jump in to other characters - if you want to operate two teams in different locations you have to run between them. Aside from that, for a single player like me the ai team is so important, it’s the only game you can try and go about things realistically as a solo player.

Looks like it'll be a fun ride. I'm glad they're making actions more consequential and having an iron man mode. The mental health aspect of your team will be interesting. It'll humanize the characters a bit more and make the violence more impactful.

Woah some Moral gameplay elements like from XCOM for the Campaign and an Ironman mode? That's just too cool! And I just like My A.I teammates, Glad their getting smarter.

Just heard about this a couple days ago and immediatly though: This needs a Republic Commando Mod.

Might be getting a little ambitious here but in the 1.0 trailer they have dragging of a downed officer to cover shown. Really hope this is being added/medical system for single player campaign to help keep team members alive for later use after recovering. Would be a nice touch for multiplayer as well trying to treat an officer while also providing cover or an officer is downed in the structure and you now have to fight to them to try and pull them out. Solid stuff right here!

Btw if you have a vr headset, I think you would find value in checking out tactical assault vr and breachers vr, I haven’t had the chance to play personally but I’ve seen friends play them and they look like a cardiovascular-hell of a lotta fun

I wonder if I'll still be able to take down Brixley's Talent Time in under 3 minutes after the update 🤔 Also there appeared to be player triggered environmental object explosions, at least at the meth house. 300BO suppressed will probably be my go-to for most maps.

I hope that the Commander Mode features unlimited Officers... Like that the first ones are Unique and that after you lost too many that you get just Basic Recruits that are decent but not as good as the unique officers.

Imagine playing as the criminal either barricading against or hiding from an autonomous clear from the new intelligent AI. I've never had that gaming experience. Gimmie. Imagine if when you die in a raid your soul gets put into a random civilian with a knife or a gun or whatever and you could hide or fake surrender or just hold up.

SWAT 4 -Have no problems with doors -Have realistic AI behaviours and movement, aiming at every corner constantly and the last man always covers your back -Understand the difference between the "move" and "cover" commands, and would move to the correct point according to your order, and then look precisely at the spot you told them to cover -Can handle enemies coming from behind them, thanks to your ability to give them proper positioning; -Wait for your orders after executing a command, and only follow you once you actually need them to -Can receive other commands even if they are already waiting to execute a queued up command, letting you send multiple orders in a quick succession; -Are capable of receiving orders through their camera(to the point where it's possible to finish missions without ever moving your own character); -Are capable of using mirrors around corners; -(If you count SEF mod) Can wait for you to throw a grenade into a room before walking inside; -(If you count SEF mod) Only need a a single "search and secure" order to start searching around a huge area for civilians and lootable items so you wouldn't have to bother with micromanaging that They finally made it comparable to SWAT 4, this is finally SWAT 4 successor

I am so excited for this. I bought this game in Early Access two years ago, tried it briefly and put it down. I decided to wait until it was fully released with a single-player campaign. I honestly don't think I have eagerly anticipated a game release so much since MGS2. Following the Dev notes for 1.0, it seems the Commander mode and AI improvements are the real meat of the update. So I would be surprised and disappointed if it doesn't launch with Commander mode. But, either way, this looks amazing. Can't wait!

I can't access all the weapons. Some are locked for no reason. MCX, the bullpup, etc. But it is still fun.

I'm usually a save-scumming dirtbag with the games I play, but I genuinely think Ironman-mode will be the only way I'll want to play Commander Mode.

I agree with the left right stack dump. The guy pieing the doorway then entering as #2 makes me cringe as there are A LOT of things that can go wrong here. In fact, it's one of the main reasons why I hate the X entry pattern. Timings can be off, someone thinks they are supposed to button hook instead of moving straight or visa-versa, guys get hung up in the door, snagging on each others equipment, etc. And as far as a single stack entry, I have yet to see a proper entry where 3 and 4 side step, or "cheat" the stack so that 3 can do a center check as soon as 1 and 2 are out the way. I like what they've done, but I still don't think I could do single player as I'm seeing guys turn their backs on doors and push past thresholds and corners without proper cover, guys standing directly in front of closed doors, shooting ENTIRLY too close to their buddies without getting online first... It is NEAT but... I prefer playing with real people.

They removed the custom scenarios from maps so you can only replay the one scripted scenario from campaign. It killed replayability for me after I finished all the campaign missions.
