I have not hauled any meat with the venture, yet. I have hauled quite a bit of weight in it though, which included a couple gallon ziplocks full of petrified bones and a 6 point elk shed I found while archery hunting, that coupled with all my normal day kit was probably around 50+ lbs. It was heavy (I should mention it was 80 degrees that day as well) and I was pretty whipped when I got back to the truck after a total of about 7 miles but as far as comfort it was great for a day pack that doesn't have a solid frame like Kuiu's pro packs. It would not be my go-to for hauling meat obviously, but you could definitely get 50-60 lbs of meat out on the first load and then swap it for a sturdier pack waiting at the truck. My 11-year-old son is primarily using my venture now it adjusts down plenty to fit him (he's 5' 3'' and skinny). My wife has tried using it but she couldn't make it fit right on the shoulders, so ended up getting her the women's pro pack frame with the pro LT 4000 bag for her upcoming elk hunts this year, she loves that so far and it's very adjustable. My go-to for the last year has been my pro LT 7000, it's hard for me not to use it. It's light and holds all my day kit with plenty of extra space for additional layers and can comfortably haul as much meat as you're able to carry on the first load and every load after 🙂.
