LATHI comes from the ancient Javanese language which means the tongue. That means the words that come out of the tongue must be accounted for.

lathi (ꦭꦛꦶ) from Javanese.. The meaning is lidah in bahasa indoneia, tounge in english.

The dark part of this song is pure Javanese pentatonic scale. Great scale!

Yeah. I tried it on piano. The traditional scale seems to correspond to the pop scale. With slight difference. The pop is in Eb minor [Eb, F, Gb, Ab, Bb, Cb, Db, Eb] while the traditional pentatonic goes in Eb, Fb,Gb, Bb, Cb. But I can't figure out how these two scales can go well with one another. Maybe you can explain. I'm studying music. This thing interests me a lot. Thanks in advance.

it's pentatonic minor, try sundanesse scale too (maybe it's pentatonic major, idk) one note, and they can give us different nuances, mystical, relaxation, etc

@@dr.yusofdawson8756 Try to listen this band, Karimata, an Indonesian jazz band from 80's. Try to listen Paddy Field and Seng Ken Ken. See how the differences in their traditional scale? PF is Sundanese or Javanese scale while SKK is Balinese scale. Btw, Dave Grusin, Fourplay, joined in PF as a piano guest. He tried to interpret the scale into his style. The result? Very amazing and yet interesting.

I'm myself not a javanese but a sundanese so i'm not sure but as someone who live in Java Island i swear i've never been heard someone named Lathi in any folklore. Seriously, i've seen someone posted similar comment like this before, idk why he did that, is he an attention seeker or something but one thing for sure spreading a HOAX isn't a cool thing to do!
