It's very complex to understand with our mindset but if you try with an open mind ,you will not be disappointed. I never understood or believed in anything because my parents never taught us not they were taught about the importance of our ancient scriptures. After becoming a doctor and understanding human body in some detail and my brother being an astrophysicist, I see and understand the importance of our scriptures and teachings. I would need atleast 8 life times to read and have some understanding about scriptures like vedas puranas etc. And don't call it Hinduism, it's sanatana Dharma which is not a religion but a way of living. And everyone is following sanatana Dharma, every living being smallest to largest. I cannot write the explanation to make understand. But in short, everyone will reach the eternal itself sooner or later, no matter what or whom you believe in. So just keep seeking. Krishna is with you. Hate Krishna🙏

However, I find that your pronunciation of certain Sanskrit words like मन्त्र, योग, चंद्रमास, राम etcetera gets influenced by their English spellings - Mantra मन्त्रा, Yoga योगा, Chandramasa चान्द्रामासा, Rama रामा। Why should we let a foreign script adulterate our sacred language? @Gaurav Singh yes bro i used to practice that but later i came to know that it has to be done even before the sunrise and the till the sun is half visible and includes sipping water sporadically and doing pranayama and looking at sun by making fingers into a special posture and i came to know that you must chant atleast 108 times to 1008 times based upon your energy and while chanting you have to touch head shoulder and between your ribcage..so i wanted to know the proper method

it takes atleast 10 mins even if I lessen the no. of gayatri . How in the world you did in 2mins?

It is recommended that you learn it from a well respected guru.

Should always be learned from a guru. There are various methods depending on which gotra/rishi is followed.

Sookshmasandhya consists of 1. Sankalpa 2. Achamanam 3.Pranayaam 4. Surya arghya danam 5. Gayatri mantra japa (10,28 or 108 counts) 6. Kara and Anga nysa. Whole process takes only 10-15 mins with 28 gayatri count

Surely. Gayatri mantra can be chanted by ANYONE, and at anytime. Mother Gayatri protects all.

@@KathaaSagar not just the Gayatri mantra, all Vedic chants are allowed to be chanted by ALL, irrespective of caste, creed, gender, race, etc. This is the practice in Prasanthi Nilayam, Puttaparthi. Provided the motive is pure, the mantras help us to move into the light. I know there are orthodox views but when modern day spiritual reformers have stipulated reforms, then I think we should go by this.

Gayatri mantra I heard creates heat in the body, hence for a woman it is said to be not good W. R. T reproductive system. Again m just sharing what I read. Religious Ness has not much to do caste system or genderiasm I believe! It is one's own conscience and well being that matters..

Hi Ranjani, Just want to share - what ever the little bits and pieces of knowledge that I have gathered from elders, to answer you questions Gayatri - Can Women chant it ? ( yes/no - but let me qualify as the focus should be on the end goal suited for human physiology) before that .. what is the end goal of Gayatri Mantra ? - If i were to put it in simple terms .. it as process by which one would be able to cleanse the deepest / deep rooted Samskaras of the Jiva so that he will have MOKSHA ( or Moha Kshaya) ... and in that the main thing is the Achamana / Pranayama / Arghya/ Mudra / Chanting of Gayatri... all should go together for a systemic transformation. But is that practical for Women? .. I would say it is Yes / no .. both. The answer is just mere chanting of Gayatri is the question then -yes .. other wise unless very well disciplined the practices are not conducive for women. Hence they were not initiated into the process. ( but there are sects in the ancient society .. even Women used to have Yagnopavitham and does Gayatri....... but am sure their lives have more controls / balances than of a normal woman who did not follow) Sandhya - every body can do it ( one can do Achamana / Arghya / Pranayama... nothing beyond of the process with out proper initiation into Gayatri per say by a good Guru) The most powerful practice you can follow is - Offer the Arghya to sun after Achamana / Pranayama .during sandhyas.... and circumbulate around holy Tulasi tree.. Then start your cooking , while treating your cooking space has a Homa Gunda .. (and clean it every day before night / apply sandle wood / Turmeric / Kumkum..).Just start your cooking in the morning Sandhaya time ... and just read Vishu Sahasranama / Lalitha Sahasranama ( learnt it from proper guru) .. while cooking .. and offer to the God .. and serve it to the Birds / Elders / Kids first and you par take the Prasada.. It is a very powerful practice.. and you will get all the benifits of Sandhya Vandana... Trust me - my Grand mother did it very religiously .. and she had Kasi Marnam ( just payed a visit for 3 days. to kasi.... and passed away peacefully on 3rd day) ..And those days .. Travel to Varanasi .. is 5 days of ordeal.. God bless you
