“It was Free” No it wasn’t lil bro, ya Mom had to pass away for you to get that. When I was 17 I got 10k In one shot and 525 each month. My moms attempted suicide and was ruled disabled forever. I was 15 during her attempt. The 10k was backed up payments of disability from all the time she’d been out of work since her attempt. For inflation purposes. That would be 14,800 today and 830 a month. I was a street nigga at the time. Super deep in and with my home life being what it was I really ain’t give a fuck if I died or my mom died. Sad to say. But when that bread hit I took my ass back to high school. I was a drop out who only had 10% of the needed credits to graduate as I approached 18. I still went to school as a super senior. Got my diploma. Got into coaching and training athletes at 20 and now at 30 I got athlete training down packed, I invest in the stock market every month for long term wealth, I’ve taught myself financial literacy, I’ve built myself a network of stable old dudes who have info I don’t have. When we are given very rare financial windfalls we have to see it as a chance to improve our situations. Financial literacy is needed in our community. A mindset shift is needed also.

Sad…even using 10k wisely could have completely changed his life.

And our elders don’t help. “Don’t get a credit card/Pay cash for everything.” “Going to school takes too long, just Get a job” “Don’t get loans”…etc. All things i was told by elders. People who were supposed to have my best interest at heart, but how could they, when their elders failed them. Luckily I’m all about learning and breaking generational curses. We hold ourselves down
