How strange that the teen boy told them he was the only one in the house. How strange that a teen boy and his child sister were home alone in the middle of the night.

Teenagers can stay home alone. Plus, some people work third. Maybe their mom/dad were at work, so they left the dude to watch his younger sister.

@@HelloCompanion I referred to him as a "teen", the firefighters/dispatcher said he was a child. Obviously, the little sister was a child. And not only did a fire start with just 2 kids home alone at 1:00 a.m., but the boy supposedly watching his sister didn't even tell them his sister was in the house. Ridiculous to leave kids alone like this.
