It depends how the story is written though, I don't think pain and naruto aren't so different in this moment. If the story was written in the perspective of nagato you'd see it a bit differently but since it was written in naruto's perspective you see that nagato is actually the villain.

That's why it is a difficult question to answer. Just taking on all the pain of everyone isn't realistic or possible, but that's why a main character can do it.

This is why I like naruto. We see how the protagonist is also vulnerable and doesn't have all the answers. And even questions his own morals when pain describes the world. I love this series

@Jua_qui_qui May have been one of the only times he didn't have the answers but this conversation and his later one with nagato changed him mentally and gave him better insight into the world as a whole. It broadened his view and made him the character he is today. Later during the kage summit arc he literally got down on his hands and knees and begged the riakage to spare Sasuke which takes a lot too do. He cast aside his own pride and had to grovel at someones feet to spare his friend. Later in that same arc he has a panic attack and passes out due to all the accumulated stress and heart ache and being conflicted cause he knows what sasuke has done and that he himself might have to hunt him down and possibly kill him as his duty if someone else doesn't find him first. During the ninja war when neji dies his morals are once again tested as Obito openly mocks him for being naive thinking he could project everyone and not have casualties and naruto looks around seeing hundreds of bodys surrounding him and he was basically at the breaking point and was tapped along with the rest of the alliance. However hinata giving him motivation didn't give him a power boost but calmed him down mentally and emotionally and he then went on to do the thing that obito said was impossible. Pass that point no one died cause he shared his chakra with them

He could only hope to hurt it so bad that maybe it will become a bit gentler. But Madara is different. That guy wanted to stomp out free will entirely. Turn the moon into a giant eyeball and give everyone their own tailor-made heaven. It's not real, it's basically magic LSD on a global scale. But considering the very concept of winners and losers create conflict and by extension War it's the best you can hope for

Ksmoke You think the best part of the show was before the war, and I think the war is the best part of the show. Not only for Madara but from the Kage Summit, passing through Naruto controlling Kyube to Itachi fighting side by side with Sasuke. So much epics moments, I watched Naruto last year and I was watching one or two episodes before going to sleep, but at certain moments during the war I was watching 5, 6 episodes because I just couldn't sleep while cool things were happening all the time.

Japan literally spams cultural references into their animations as well as bits of philosophy to make you think. Steven Bleepin' Universe is both a wonderful story of how pure and simplistic love can be shared by all, while at the same, it's also an SJW cluster puck... If it's a story made by someone who put a lot of thought into it, you are most likely going to see what kind of messages they're trying to convey. Past life mistakes, warnings about not repeating the same shortcomings they fell victim to... Reread your favorite book more thoroughly, and most likely you'll find something.

Eh, it's good till they defeat Pain, after that is pretty mediocre (picks up when Madara comes, then drops when he obtains the Juubi) Hunter x Hunter, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Yu Yu Hakusho, and these are only Shounen. There are still plenty of other anime/manga that are better than Naruto.
