So here is my first medical movie reaction! There are some cracking medical scenes in Doctor Strange, and a had loads of requests to give them a look, I do get a bit nerdy explaining things, but hey! that's what I'm here for. Dr Hope's Sick Notes fun fact: Lamborghini offered to be the car that Dr. Strange crashes, even though brands usually don’t want to be associated with high speed accidents that ruin people’s lives. The reason given is “the accident should have been fatal, but it wasn’t.”

DR. Hope's Sick Notes FUN FACT: The burst fracture mentioned at 8:19 is referencing IRON MAN 2 when villain/antagonist Justin Hammer fails to make a knock-off Iron Man armor suit. The suit goes haywire, twisting in half during a test run and severely injures the test pilot!

Dr. Hope. could you do review on Team Medical Dragon? Its a japanese medical drama about Dr. Asada Ryutaro, a genius surgeon who formed a surgeon team to tackle difficult surgeries.

It's actually a great song to do reanimation to! Its rhythm matches the rhythm needed to do CPR :) along with Imperial March from Star Wars, they're used to teach CPR in schools!

The reason the defibrillator brought him back alive Immediately is because it wasn’t a normal cardiac arrest, it was because he flying kicked him and he passed out in the astroplane, and all the defibrillator did was give him enough energy to wake back up in the astroplane.

I'm so happy Dr Hope also addresses how it looks from a story/movie standpoint. It's interesting to know what's accurate and what's not, but it's very nice to hear an expert tell it in a very non-condescending way. Like "Oh yeah, that isn't how we do things, you see this in medical dramas all the time, but it's a bit nice for storytelling" is such a nice way to approach it.

I really love that the burst fracture thing was a callback to one of the Ironman movies, where you actually see a guy in a exo-suit, get his torso fully rotated 180°. It's the subtle things that make all the MCU movies good

@@icatfishedyourdad2767I think that it could be interpreted either way, but the guy in Iron Man 2 makes more sense to me - if it was Rhodey, then they’d probably say that he was one of the Avengers. And I feel like the implication is that the first half of this movie takes place over a long period - he has his accident, spends several months trying everything to get his hands fixed, and then trains at Kamar-Taj for a few years before fighting with Caecilius. So the Iron Man 2 guy makes sense with the timeline - the movie begins in early phase 1 and catches up with the rest of the MCU by the end.

Most a & p classes deal with general information about the body organs and systems and what happens when something goes wrong. The doctor in this video mostly talks about the applied skills used to treat the illnesses or injuries. These would be learned in other classes. Keep learning you'll get there soon enough.

I always took Dr. Strange talking about lead poisoning as a way to take the patient, basically he was saying that the guy wasn't donor capable due to the lead poisoning so I might as well try something crazy to save him while the other doctor was thinking we'll let him die and harvest his organs for donations.
