0:51 Well, that's kinda the point. I don't think you saw this in the post-credits last episode, but Ryusui notes that those explorers often STARVED because while they did pack food, it was so disgusting as to be inedbiel.

Another great video! I think that sped-up demonstration of the mirror process was a great addition. Not sure how to phrase it, but it made me less 'skeptical' about whether that process could actually make a mirror. It's pretty funny how the inside of the beaker also became a mirror. I wished there was some more emphasis on how long it would take for the dageurrotype to form it's image (I could imagine that you could make some gag with it). Upon checking the manga again, I see that the explicit statement about how long it takes for the image to form, as well as the prismatic vs inverted aside, are both anime-only. Pretty cool how the anime staff put in a lot of effort to fill in that dead air with those details. Perhaps they too are using science consultants, like the manga authors did. Ahhh it would be so cool seeing some spinoffs of all of these characters doing their own stuff. What adjustments has Yuzuriha needed to make to her workflow due to not using consistent modern thread? How does the bulky daguerrotype compare to a modern camera, and how does it affect Minami's photography?

In the "Making Of" Video of Season 1, they did say that the studio staff do some of the things themselves. Maybe they did experiment with that too (with consultant help).

I love how they actually included that steam + baking bit. A lot of bakeries use short steam bursts when baking. I love it

I'm pretty sure Francoise was taking all of those variables for the bread you were talking about into account. Francois is supposed to be the most skilled butler in the world. Given that food is one of their fortes they most likely know how much of what will result in the rising time they want for the bread they cook.

SOO being a filthy dub watcher I had to come back and rewatch the episode and then come back here. So I can say that the dubs exact words were that "When it comes to firmer breads the first 9 minutes are crucial. Said 9 minutes are how long the rising period of our Stollen will last. Though I wonder how much heat will be transferred to the bread given the circumstances. That is I wonder how air tight the oven-." So it is easier to infer that they are talking about the specific type of of loaf Stollen they are making in this instance rather then saying every firm bread everywhere in every oven. since it sounds like they are working with some guess work with the oven itself. I asked my aunt who has actually marked this stuff and we have professional bakers in out family and they said that the types vastly affect what happens. For instance we make braided Stollen which is different then loafed because of the surface area. We have doctors and engineers react to Dr. Stone, now we need "Professional baker reacts to Dr. Stone".😂😂

Ngl, I thought Francois was about to make hard tacks. But I'd rather have those hard tacks than Senku's bread lmao. Also, the silver mirror test brought back memories of my chemistry classes in my uni days.

I've been rewatching all your videos of Dr Stone series cuz it's too interesting (the comments section too!) and makes the show so much enjoyable. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and reaction! The next episode will deal with a pivotal point in the story (If my memory is right), and some questions you have might turn into great hypotheses 👀👀

I'm watching this video In my pc. I always have the question if there is a person like senku or more knowledgeable then him in real life can create a modern day computer in stone age. I know todays computer is combination of different field of knowledge like from hardware to software to coding to engineering etc. Like I think creating a computer would be the boldest thing in the stone age. Is it possible in real life?

Btw, you called Francois a she, but Francois' gender is unknown. Not nonbinary, but literally unknown. They never bring it up and nobody ever asks. Ryusui specifically mentions he doesn't know if Francois is a boy or a girl when they go to depetrify them.
