Hey up!! Hello there, I've just found this channel and watched a couple of videos and once again realised how simple and beautiful life is but unfortunately we make it complicated for bunch of reasons. Actually, I had a lot on my plate this week mentally and now I feel that I'm coming back to life. Moved to London a few months ago and since then the first thing I notice when I meet somebody new is their attitude towards life. If somebody is so pathetic it is deal breaker for me. In this day and age we have got a lot of information about how human nature works so we have to use simple tricks in order to get rid of negative tendency. I think most people pretend that they are not interested in other's life and they hide their smile deep inside of their true desire.

Well, first of all I'd like to tell you guys how awesome and funny you are and your teaching ways as well. Secondly, the first thing I notice when I meet someone new is their smile, as one of the interviewed guys said, it's very important in this day and age to be optimistic and to break the stereotypes. I usually try not to go back and forth because I feel people get weirded out and probably they think I'm judging their outfits or something like that. Guys, you have an excellent channel and I enjoy your videos a lot! Thank you. Btw, my English level is B1+ and I would love to improve it with you guys. Thanks again. Greetings from Mexico.

Hey guys! you are so much fun and I love all your videos and your teaching style! You both have great smiles and energy, which is exactly the first thing I notice when I meet someone new and what makes me want to get to know them more or not. When Charlie is talking to the guy who says his wife doesn't give a second chance to people and he says she's cut-throat, It reminded me of some people I know who would judge others this way and is definitely not fair. Yes, beauty is only skin deep. The girl who said your outfit looked studenty seems quite funny and I like the older man who spoke about how trainers are not proper shoes hahaha I use them a lot too because we all try to cling to the last shreds of youth! Also, I agree that, unless you are really close to somebody, if they look at you in the eye for too long we tend to weirded out!

I'm thrilled to bits for getting around to watching this marvellous video. If you ask me, I reckon one of the most important feature I see when I meet someone new is certainly how they look, but also I think the sound of their voices have quite a crucial impact on me to make a good impression of someone, don't you agree? I tend to get going when I hear people who are on the brink of speaking too loudly when tearing the tartan, because it makes me feel a bit bothered, even though my parents drum me out of that because they believe it's quite impolite. Appearance isn't a deal-breaker for me, beauty is only skin deep and I'm unused to categorizing people for how they look physically, but rather for how they try to swap their own ideas with me. However, everybody in this day and age usually makes a hasty idea of new people they meet by assessing their outfit rather than character and I find it a bit cut-throat that they get a bad rep for this. Anyway, you're amazingly fantastic guys, it's always a pleasure to watch your outstanding videos and I'm raring to see others as soon as possible. Cheers!!!!!

As far as I'm concerned, the first thing I notice when meeting someone new is their face and to what extent they care about "looking good" (eg whether they wear makeup or just simply have an orderly, tidy look to their face). For example, I usually look after my beard and hair and keep them at a certain length... Although sometimes I don't and just let them grow a bit more, and usually that's because I'm going through a stressful period or I'm not feeling well. I tend to apply that to other people as well, so I kind of try and deduce a few things (which may well be wrong!) about them from the way they look, which might be helpful whilst speaking with them and interpreting what they say according to what they really mean. Second in the list is how they speak. I absolutely can't stand people saying swear words or using very, very colloquial language at the first encounter, and I hate those who start behaving as if they'd known you for ages even after only 5 minutes of conversation. I love people who manage to be polite and respectful but also friendly and easy-going at the same time - just like you two!

When I meet someone for the first time, I think I look at his/her face which is quite obvious. Then I try to break the ice, Talk to him/her and eventually I get an idea what sort of person he/she is! Btw I ran into your channel lately and I find it quite engaging. Good luck pal...

Instinctively I'd say eyes. But I noticed that I look at the hands. But I think that's something I learned or "picked up" from my time in the Military and government security (I don't do that work anymore).

When I see someone for the first time I usually see their eyes and their smile because I think there, I can see a part of their character but it doesn't mean that I think I know them just by taking a look of their eyes. And I do feel a bit uncomfortable and I get a bit excited when somebody is looking in my eyes because I feel like all of my secrets are written there. After all I can't even talk to somebody without looking deep in their eyes. I don't feel natural when I don't.

To me, I'd see person's eyes and fashion. There is a staple proverb in my country, Japan, "Eyes tell something more than mouth"(目は口程に物を言う). Let me be candid, eyes can be a deal-breaker if they are dull, seem to show hostile feeling. I may be too cut-throat tho'. Also outfits are big deal. It's not necessary means if someones were dapper, they would definitely are good person. However, odd people wear odd clothes in most cases. For instance, I'd be weird out if I met stranger who wear clothes which are not fitting for the place. Looking back my short essay, I think I was a bit over the top

Why don’t you guys try something like conversation alive - like Americans do- it will work with you, as many learners would practice British English rather then American.
