Liability's, especially BMWs. I have owned a few in my life (& currently own a 2021 X3) and they cost alot to keep on the road

I bought my 2011 BMW X3 a couple months before you in October 2019. I’m still driving it with over 235,000km on it now. Almost 130,000km are from me. I love my xDrive28i 😎

I have a 2015 x3 with 113k miles drives like a dream down in the desert in New Mexico. Mines a rwd and it's been incredibly offroad friendly lol. Took it all the way up grass mountain at lake conasauaga, drove all the way from Tampa here two weeks ago. Car drives phenomenal. Been a daily driver since 2019

Sweet ride man! For a 2011 it still looks super new and modern!

Yes for sure. It doesn’t look dated yet I avoid all the negatives like deprecation. That’s the worst part of car ownership. Buying a car for 60k that’s worth 30k in a couple years is terrible. Big time liability.

I’ve had mine for a couple of years. I almost traded it in for a new one and the salesman at the dealership talked me out of it. The 2011 is right on that knifes edge to where there’s not a whole Lotta stuff added onto it that’s super expensive when it breaks. The headlights on the newer models if you’ve got a replace them can cost you up to $1200 or more depending on what features are in them. Side view mirrors it’s the same thing. And the list goes on and on. Since it has been out for a while companies like Bimer tech have had time to look into the software and have put out a lot of cool stuff for this particular model. An example is the MMI prime which completely overhauls your user interface and brings it to the 2020s.

Yes it can definitely get expensive with BMW. But it a good driving experience when they are working right.

I bought the exact same car about 3 years ago, same trim, same tires. Bought it at 13 grand for a beater with 70k, put 40k hard on an off road miles on it. Zero mechanical issues...hauled yard debris, office debris, luggage, hardware....and kept it looking good. The naturally aspirated I6 was bullet proof. Traded it for 8 grand. Two years of use to trash it, ride it hard and enjoy it put me at a loss of only $5k bucks! Why did I dump it? TPMS went out was a $3k dollar job, interior had some leaks that just developed....engine gasket leaks($600), and an $800 dollar tranny service ($800) was coming up.

My experience with this car was positive also. Just expensive to fix when things go wrong.

So far so good. I am now at 123k miles. I did need to do coils and one fuel injector so far. Otherwise reliable.
@scottfarley57384 жыл бұрын
how many miles to you have on it now? I am going to look at one this weekend. Also let me add to your asset or liability statements: my 18 yr old son has a 2006 x3 we bought for $7K and I would bet we could get close to that now after 2 yrs of owning it. My daughter has a 97 M3 we bought for $8K and we received over 3 offers this summer to buy it for $15K+ (Its a second owner car, never wreaked). I also have a 2003 M3 convert we picked up for $23K 4 yrs ago and could sell for about that now. SO just to add I agree with you 100% but put some thought around the car and maybe you will drive for free or even profit. thanks for the video btw

That is awesome, that is so true. Some cars even gain value. I can think of couple cars you can buy and make money with ( Dodge Vipers, some lotus models, most BMW M Cars, Some of the older AMG models ect.) Brand new cars can be major liability’s due to the depreciation. Especially if it’s something mass produced. The X3 has 103k miles and counting. I already put 6k on it in just a few months and it has been hassle free. Just routine maintenance like oil changes. Definitely a good truck.

How many miles do you have in it now? I’m looking to get a 2011 X3 35i with about 96k (10.8k a year). I’m kind of concerned since it’s the first year of a compete redesign. Do you think it’ll hold up?
@NewAgentHQ4 жыл бұрын
My SUV is really running well. I now have 108,000 miles and do a ton of driving. However I did have a dealer tell me 2011 models could have catastrophic engine failure with high miles. However I am unsure how true that is.
