Thanks man I recently had problems with the amount of takeoff fuel I had when I imported the Sim brief plan into my aircraft because i tinkered around with the fuel settings without knowing the correct settings glad I found your page. i am now a subscriber thanks.

It looks like Simbrief does not put the approach into an airport into the fuel calculations. Is the contingency fuel where that is accounted for?

Are you talking about from the initial approach fix to the airport? The fuel burn there would would likely be somewhat negligible. Even real flight planning software doesn’t account for that. No extra fuel is planned for that portion, but each airline has their own fuel policy that can easily absorb a small amount of extra burned. For my company, we plan all flights with 15 minutes of “basic extra”. In simbrief terms 15 minutes would go in the extra box in the fuel category. That would have the aircraft landing with a total of 60mins assuming no alternate is planned. (45min reserve and 15 basic extra). Let me know if that answers your question.

@WrongSideSimulations thanks. Trying to zero in my TBM with fuel and had a flight that was 100 lbs off. Thought it was due to having to fly over the airport amd then round trip 50 miles on the approach.
