The reason Muichiro trained 1v2 against Obanai and Sanemi is mainly because of his speed and not necessarily strength wise, although he might have been stronger than both had he been the same age. In terms of actual strength, Sanemi is only second to Gyomei, and it's believed that Obanai is unparalleled in swordsmanship accuracy.

I'll tI'll tell you hashira rankings Gyomei, Sanemi Sinajugawa, Tomioka Giyu, Obanai Igoru, Muichiro, Rengoku, Mitsuri, Tengen, Shinobu ❤ Spoilers GOAT Tomioka Giyu and Sanemi Sinajugawa survived till the end Giyu faught against Akaza with tanjiro and unlocked his selfless state during that battle and also unlocked his demon slayer mark Sanemi faught against kokushibo along with Gyomei, Muichiro, Genya and unlocked his demon slayer mark After that Giyu and Sanemi faught against Muzan and also DKT ❤

Just so you know tokito and obanai are nearly equal in powers but coz of his bloodline tokito is stronger than obanai, ranked 4th among the hashiras while iguro ranks 5th, sanemi 2nd.

Muichiro is the 4th strongest of them all and the youngest too... They paid him respect by doing 2 v 1 bcoz he defeated a upper 5 demon all by himself and also he had the Demon Slayer mark.... Obanai and Sanemi were just trying to awaken their mark too...
