Apparently the comment section failed to listen to the bit about him simply making a protective and functional Batsuit that works like its source material and is also clearly on a budget. "Why isn't it bulletproof?" "Why isn't the face covered?" "This isn't practical." Are you all stupid or just trolling? The basic Batsuit isn't bulletproof because it needs to be light enough to maneuver in. The face isn't covered because in order to perform the feats required to be Batman, you need a large oxygen intake and masks greatly reduce your breathing. But finally, no shit it isn't practical. It's made to be used by someone who is fictional and who can go hours on end doing flips and shit across rooftops. There is no such thing as a practical Batsuit because there is no such thing as a Batman.
@Tletna9 жыл бұрын
Fryday I liked your comment but there are some people in real life pretty close to being Batman (well the Batman in his more realistic stories). You make a good point though, even with the mouth covered, he'd need large holes for breathing or a special oxygen supply device (which would mean he'd die if it failed). But some swat and in old days knights have worn full helmets and still breathed just fine. I think it depends upon the design and like you said whether or not you intend to backflip across rooftops for 4+ minutes or 4+ hours lol...
@luketube83519 жыл бұрын
Fryday I guess people are saying those things because he is demonstrating actual protection against being attacked with real weapons (not to mention the video title, "real life" Batsuit). However, you'd have to have a screw loose to actually don that suit and go into a high crime area of course. Not arguing with you, just trying to point out where people are drawing those lines. Eh... anyway.
@Citrakite9 жыл бұрын
Fryday Actually it is built out of Kevlar, .25" Kydex, and AB foam. It's probably is bullet resistant to a point but are you going to make this then shoot it to see how big the bullet has to be? Be easier to make a sample section and shoot it then risk the suit. Weight wise vests aren't super heavy until you put in plates (and his are plastic) so if needed and it wasn't bank breaking it might make it same as like a IIA where you need a assault rifle to go through.
@trolololololll9 жыл бұрын

All in all, I think its pretty cool. and if you don't like it, why the hell did you look it up?

well, couple things are infactual about it. for one, the guys aren't really hitting him. for another, the joints have no reinforcement for impact trauma. and finally, the symbol on the chest is often yellow for a reason.... the armor was made specifically more durable there, basically batman wants you to chest shot him, or get a bullet through the bat symbol. his armor is weaker around the extremities, while this is somewhat like that.... roller blade pads, and a catcher's chest guard lined with Kevlar would be the same effect as shown here. nice attempt though, but like I said, his buddies aren't really hitting him, it's clearly telegraphed how little of an impact he's getting, especially since no one is trying to burry the punch into his body like a real fighter would

+Ya Boi Yoda hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......................... fuck. I hate it when people defend criticism like this. Let's look at some cases: One, you do not need to be a chef to know that someone's cooking isn't up to your standards. Two, you do not need to be a better director than Micheal Bay to think that the Transformers movies were bad. Three, I don't need to be a good game designer to know that a game is utter shit. Please, for the love of God, use a different argument.

Karyn Del'Pontone Because he's batman. Also it's a pretty small target so very difficult to make a shit from mid to long range. Short range, would be easier but you'd be on the floor by then if you were facing batman. Knives, well, again you'd be on the floor.

What actually makes the most sense is that Batman's armor plating is just that, armor plating that can attach to a suit. Batman's actual 'suit' is a lightweight modular outfit with nodes to attach armor pieces and utility on, which requires a lot of reworking of what you see here, which is basically a kevlar armor piece strapped onto a existing costume. Basically. You create a 'chainmail'-like inner suit which has cut protection, and then apply 'armor' plating which can link to the suit via some kind of padding that has connectors to snap in. Sorta like how Samurai equip shoulder armor pieces and such. But the more armor you add, the more weight, so armor plates would selectively be placed over vital areas. The cape being made bullet resistant and flammable can be rather hard... In comics and in movies and games, batman who uses his cape to attack or defend, showed that it seems to have 'weight' in it, allowing him to literally 'push' the opponents which can stun them. Maybe the cape uses some sort of electromagnetic system, so swinging it over a target's gun for instance increases the odds of yanking it out of their hand and having them drop it. I guess the cape being used to shield from explosions or heat or chemical, means batman covers himself first, and then activate the cape's system to harden itself, to take the brunt of it. It's more realistic to have a iron man exo-skeleton suit than a batman suit.

Very cool. I’d tweek the helmet a bit. It looks great but a bit LEGO like.
@thestarkknightreturns7 жыл бұрын
Congrats, it's a real good suit. What it lacks in comic book accuracy, it compensates with practicality and a no-nonsense approach to what is essentially a light-armored skin-tight suit. And to think that in the old days, it really was no more than a spandex costume.... From certain angles, it reminds me of Lee Bermejo's art for Batman in "Batman: Noel", "Joker" and "Lex Luthor".... I was wondering if it is possible to scale back the helmet without losing its utility, while keeping the body and head proportional?
