Fantastic video. Online vs reality is a HUGE difference. You’ve got rich influencers in large cities where extreme fashion demographics exist. This is where majority of the content is made. On the other side you’ve got an even larger population of people who may like fashion but don’t have the funds or they simply aren’t willing to be on the more “exaggerated” and “flamboyant” spectrum of fashion. I can safety say that in my smaller city, it’s much more conservative. And many of us aren’t as confident nor even interested in extremes.

"gorpcore" as a trend is hilarious because to me its just normal clothes. I can understand and jive with the idea that something deemed non fashionable is recontextualized and enjoyed differently but to me it just looks VERY costumey if ur state don't got the weather for it.

In a medium-sized city in Poland (~190k inhabitants) Shoes: 1) Ramones - sometimes I see them around town 2) Big Red Boots- I've never seen these shoes in person in the city 3) Balenciaga- I rarely see these shoes, the only pair of defenders I have seen in my collection 4) Tabi- I've seen them maybe 5 times Pants: 1)Raver pants- As far as I know, there are only 3 pairs of Raver pants from Balenciaga in Poland (in general, they are very difficult to buy) 2) Flare pants- guys wearing these pants are rare, they are very popular among women 3) baggy pants- in Poland they are still very popular, the vast majority of young people wear them, it seems to me that at the moment drill and walking in tech flece are trying to take over the place of baggy

chrome hearts jewelry should in the online category. Everyone got that one hoodie because you can easily pick a fake up from soho. However fake jewelry isn’t as easily available and can be easier to legit check. I never seen anyone outside with a chrome belt or the shades

I live in Charleston SC, and Id have to say the fashion scene down here is very safe/normal. If you do see anyone down here wearing something crazy it’d be from a girl. Dudes down here still wear high mesh shorts. skinny jeans, jordan’s/dunks/New Balance and graphic tee’s. We live in the deep south so we’re late catching onto trends in comparison to LA/NYC.

@@yogitheaussiedoodle8042 It’s why I say fashion is regional, in other words, infinitely subjective. No look is really “Out/In style” because every trend doesn’t catch on or become popularized everywhere. If you wear the OPIUM styled clothing down here they’ll call you a weirdo or that friend that’ll scare the hoes away lol. Down in the south everyone plays it safe when it comes to fashion. That’s how it is and always will be when you live in a non-progressive region like we do.

I'm an old timer in my early 50s and being a teenager in the 80s, trends were changing all the time. I can look at a picture/video from the 80s and tell you the specific year. The whole dayglo/neon/synthwave aesthetic only spanned from around '84 to '87. Now anything goes because we have more choice due to the global online marketplace. Some of that 80s aesthetic came back in style which I'm all for because of the nostalgia factor. Others way younger than me like it because they pine for a time that they didn't get to be a part of.

Fleece and chenille tracksuits are also seen. Here mainly go McQueen, dsquared, gucci, not so much Balenciaga, samba, af1, Stone Island and Jordan. More or less these are the trends in Italy.

I rocked with almost all of the video until you said guys don't wear skirts because of "confidence", nah my dude, it's because "most" guys DON'T WANT to wear a skirt. Every guys who likes fashion isn't gender fluid or open or down with the idea of coming off too feminine because they LIKE being masculine. Most guys are straight men and want to appear as such (mostly to attract the ladies to be honest 😆 but that's why we do almost everything) and that's just as ok in this country a guy wanting to dress genderless. Even the videos men's fashion KZfaqrs post on men wearing skirts often have the least views compared to other trends. I know there are some guys who won't do it and they want to (lacking confidence) but that's not most. Other than that a VERY good video, fa sho
@JadonGrundy
@JadonGrundy 11 ай бұрын
Definitely get where you’re coming from. I think a skirt being feminine is based off your reference. I think there are a lot of things that many people would have considered feminine and the narrative got completely changed (for example like (having both ears pierced or wearing pearl jewelry). So it can come down to confidence in both the outfit and your masculinity. Skirts didn’t originate or come from women, it came from and was made for men
@jermainelamar3093
@jermainelamar3093 11 ай бұрын
@@JadonGrundy i understand some of the nuanced subjects around what is considered masculine vs feminine in any given society and most importantly the fact that they change over time and from society to society but people have a myriad of reasons for not participating in gender neutral or fluid dress. Heck the Bible even speaks against it (when I saw that one I was surprised, who knew 🤷🏾‍♂️) In order for someone to lack the confidence to wear something they have to want to wear them 1st place and most men don’t. They don’t like the aesthetic of appearing feminine. Most men aspire to be as masculine and dominant as possible (that’s why someone like an Andrew Tate or Kevin Samuels blows up or the most popular guy in school is a jock) it’s actually biological in nature (that aggressive testosterone). Most people truly believe there should be a divide between masculine and feminine. That’s my only point. I see where your coming from but I think lack of confidence wouldn’t be the reason for most men but definitely some. In the cities and the fashion industry it’s a very different mindset concerning these types of things but having lived in both the city and the south I can tell you they think differently concerning this subject for sure and it’s definitely not a lack of confidence

These last 2 years have been a treat in Berlin fahsion. The environment was just perfect for this whole raver/opium movement here and you do actually see a lot of these pieces around certain parts of the city. Berlin has always had one of the most alive Raver and Punk-adjacent scenes in the world. In the past 20 years a lot of gentrification happened here and a big part of why people from the outside wanna move here has always been the Berlin Techno Club scene. This scene used to be very down to earth, mostly kept alive by young working-class people and university students. However, with its aesthetic appeal and the overall gentrification of the city itself, this scene got gentrified too. Nowadays the common stereotype about ravers in Berlin is that they are either from the younger startup crowd or people who moved here from a very privileged position, bringing that privilege, usually of the monetary kind, with them. Add to that the fact that Berlin always has been an artistically aware city and is often looked at as the little brother of major fashion hubs like Paris, London and NYC. You get the perfect recipe for a bunch of creative young people who can afford and want to style themselves in exactly the aesthetic of what's popping up internationally right now, with a lot of the culture surrounding current trends being already very prevalent in the city. But other popular styles have been a thing here for a long time too. Blokecore for example is just a regular streetwear staple style in Berlin. I doubt anyone had to buy any new clothes to fit that aesthetic in Berlin. I think thats just the case for most european cities that have an active soccer scene tbh

You left out the 3rd type of person- the one who doesn't follow trends, but rather dresses in *quality* garments that FIT well on them, matches their individual color story, and elevates their shape/body/personality.

@@JadonGrundy which is online so it will unfortunately be categorized with all the other trend following brands also started on instagram. maybe taking a unique approach to advertising mixed with unique designs will be the future. this is all from a viewers perspective.
