How joao Felix starts on the bench after the semi finals is beyond me! Horrendous decision

Playing a high line against a team with Vinicius in it is just wild to me. Inexcusable from Xavi who I will be amazed if he stays beyond this season

Xavi did not watch a single RM game this season. I will tell you why: 1. If he did, he would have known that Vini no longer runs down the flanks but on the centre this season. However, he still put Araujo in the flanc and the whole match he was useless. 2. A RM that attacks with Rodrigo and Vini, if he watched just one of their games he would have known that playing a high line against that attack line will be suicide. Yet our defence line was literally on the centre of the field.

so happy that Lewandowski played 90 minutes. And where we would be without Robertos passes to the back. Simply beautiful.

I remember months ago when we were on our 1-0 win streak I said we were a horrible team and we were horribly coached and everyone got on me. If any of you spend the time and rewatch these games last season you'll realize we weren't great at all we were lucky. This is where xavi is in his coaching experience and he's too proud to admit he's not ready to coach a top team. And many of our players are average or above average players at best.

I'm 95% sure after this that we're gonna get knocked out by Napoli.

This reminds me of koeman last days at barça,no plan,no synergy,no nothing and btw since the ending of last season we got alot of red flags about the ability of this team and coach but we were just lucky winning 1-0 because of ter stegen masterclass at this point i don't even expect us to win against napoli who's having a harder time than us..idk this is beyond embarassing i still can't understand why joao felix didn't start this game instead of the "SHARK" guys scores a lucky goal and gets a start over one our best players. if xavi wasn't xavi he would've been sacked already

There are a lot of issues that not only Xavi is responsible for, but for our higher-ups including Laporta. Here are my main issues with Barcelona right now. 1. Our summer transfer window and previous windows show we have no direction in what we are trying to do. We keep buying and choosing players that have succeeded and past their prime because of our financial clusterfuck of a mess, but we are trying to start a "new era". Our "new era" consists of an injury prone Pedri, Gavi who's now out with an Acl injury, an injury prone backline of Kounde and Araujo, De Jong, Balde, and Lamine Yamal. Now great, we got Roque in but questions need to be asked on with all of these players, realistically how many times will we see all of those said on the field playing? They can't and won't play for a full season, but instead of buying new talent and bringing the B team players in, we're spent focusing on keeping trash cans like Roberto, Romeo, and Marcos Alonso. Our rivals have a better "new era" and are only going to get better, while we need to have a starting eleven and starting hospital eleven. 2. Xavi is and should be primarily responsible for how we are playing. He's a Barca legend, don't mean to be disrespectful, but how the fuck are you one of the best midfielder in your generation, but lack all the vision you have towards coaching. We all knew losing Busquets was going to be a major problem, but we had almost a full YEAR to know that he was leaving. So you're telling me that Xavi and the board had all this time to choose a solution and decided spending it on ROMEO? HOW IS THAT A SOLUTION TO LOSING A GENERATIONAL CDM, and then we sold DEMBELE for what? Raphinha who always have a shit game, but he gets an assist or flukey goal, Ferran whos bench riding, and Fati who we loaned out. All of these decisions are just so unacceptable, and a good coach, given his players, coaches to an extent. Xavi, on the other hand, looks like he just decided to put in Gundo or De Jong at the six and said no, just play as an 8 and leave the defense to defend. Everytime I have seen Barcelona play this season, it's just a big hole that always is deserted which is why you see our defenders closing that space, leaving us wide open on transition. And then our defense is a fucking shambles, because we all know Kounde isn't a right back blah blah blah. Look at fucking City and Arsenal, and Liverpool. They all play with three centerbacks and one fullback, and oh it fucking works, so stop tinkering our DEFENSE. If kounde don't wanna play, then sell him. Xavi gives us no style of play and I can list multiple coaches who can actually coach, so he needs to go idc he's ass. 3. There is a severe lack of transition. Holy fuck, we look so fucking slow and bland on the ball. We succeeded last season bc of Dembele, who can actually run and dribble, and Sergio Busquets, who can keep our tempo and string passes like he's a quarterback. We lost our two influential players to how we play, and now it seems Xavi didn't think of a new tactic or anything. It's just more of a reason to sack him, because now we play worse than everyone. The game is influenced on transitional speed now, and Xavi didn't do anything to change, just said fuck it. 4. Our medical staff and coaching staff both are on two different planets. This one is under the radar because were hospital fc, but it seems like the medical staff just treat the players and send them right back to training. No recovery, no check ups, just simple fixes and ur good to play. While our coaching staff just put them through training like it's no tomorrow, making them run like they brand new. They're just not on the same page at the moment, and that's gotta change. Unprofessional from both sides. These are just some issues and I'm butthurt lowkey because losing to Real in a final and Vini dunking on us means we will hear abt that shit for a while. It hurts seeing that we're not winning anything this year, so I just hope for a Ucl spot and reset including sacking Xavi and selling our asscheek players. Visca Barca

Im glad we finally had this test. We were coasting along with 1 goal wins. Absolutely deserved battering. Xavi is just not anyway near good enough for us atm.

Real Madrid are a club run correctly and are always reinforcing the team and are signing modern footballers who are physical, fast, and somewhat technical. Us on the other hand we only focus on the technical side of the game when we recruit players. Pedri is a perfect example of this. He’s technically gifted but he cannot hang with Tchouameni, Valverde, Bellingham, and even Kroos they’re all more athletic than him. There’s a reason why Gavi is our best player because he’s actually athletic and physical which is what you need in today’s game. Gone are the days where you could have players like Iniesta and Xavi and play tiki-taka football its time this club get with the program and start modernizing every aspect or else we’ll be left in the dust we will actually be known as that club that used to be a big club.

I'm so shocked to see that Vitor Roque didn't featured in this match. We had already lost the match, the lease you could have done Xavi, was bring on the kid for some minutes, let him feel what an el classico feels like. But no, Vitor Roque wasn't featured.

What pisses me off with xavi is his dislike for pace and physicality on the wings, you can't just want to play with midfielders on the wings or using players without pace that lack the ability to beat players. Woeful, I missed that season when we could actually play counter attacking football.

I think we really need a coach who can manage a team at this level. Xavi will always be a legend, but I believe he is in over his head at this point and a more experienced coach is needed desperately. Watching matches are now boring and painful to watch. The majority of our attacks involve incessant passing back and forth, eventually to the right flank where somehow it seems that a miracle is needed from a cross. There's no pattern of attack or variety in attack. Same exact thing every game. While we love Xavi, I believe part of the solution is getting a proper, experienced coach. We may have to accept this season as another failure.

Xavi has convinced me now that he won't bring this talented team to nowhere no matter how much time he has been provided.

What annoys me most is barca holding the ball for ages and not doing anything with it, just safe passing around the back, whereas our opponents get the ball for a couple minutes and score

As soon as I saw the lineup, I knew we were fucked. What on earth was Xavi thinking there?! Whenever we played the 4 man midfield this season it hadn't worked out. The system requires a quick winger who can dribble like Dembele. Not ferran torres! Atleast he could've played Lamine or Felix instead. Ferran did absolutely nothing last game to warrant a start tonight! Ridiculous decision by Xavi. Roberto playing as a LW as well 😭 Ppl out here blaming the players, look at the man who's picking the players! They aren't picking themselves!

A defensive high line, and with no player in the forward line or midfield with any pace to get behind the defence was just embarrassing. Barca needed this defeat to expose how pathetic this team has been all season. This team needs a shake up and Xavi is proving time and time again that he isn’t the guy to take this club forward.

There are loads of problems in this Barcelona team. Personally, I wouldn't call for the sack of Xavi at least right now but he has to change certain things. This is what I'd do if I was in his place 1) Revert to a 5-3-2 formation Ter Stegen - GK Cancelo - RWB Araujo - RCB Christensen - CB Kounde - LCB Balde - LWB Pedri - RCM Gundogan - CM De Jong - LCM Lewandowski - RF Felix - LF The reason for this is, a) You need defensive stability, a lot of teams have just exposed our defence with a simple long ball. Yes, Barca don't have a pivot and while Gundogan and De Jong have been our most consistent players this season, it doesn't make sense to confine them to a particular role as it inhibits their preferred game. Instead, I'd have a guy like Christensen who is really good at understanding the game to play more like a sweeper. Yes, he was horrific yesterday but with him as the sweeper and two fast center-backs behind him, I'd think he'd fill out that need for a defensive pivot temporarily. It also offers a numerical advantage in the midfield during the build-up. b) You look at our team and realize that the player who looks to create a chance out of nothing is Cancelo ( People can have their opinion but with Pedri getting injured a lot, Gavi out and Felix's inconsistencies which I'll come back later ). This formation gets the best of him and with Barca practically playing a possession-based game in the majority of their matches he would essentially occupy places a RW would. It also lessens his defensive burden a little bit. 2) Improve Balde's output - while I feel like Balde's had an off-season, with him playing as the LWB he should be allowed and motivated to make those runs on the left-hand side. The coaching staff has to also work on his crossing because it feels like he just wants to cross for the sake of it. All Xavi has got to do is restore his confidence, encourage his natural attacking game and improve his final third decision-making. 3) Motivate Felix to play more consistently - You look at our wingers/forwards and none of them give the "magic" vibes. Someone who can pull off something out of nothing. Someone who you want to watch these matches for. Someone who'd you want to idolize. Barca had the likes of Messi, Ronaldinho and Neymar in their recent history and they delivered consistently winning matches on their own sometimes ( In Messi's case carrying the offensive burden of the team single-handedly across his last four seasons, especially his 17-18 and 18-19 campaign ). Let me tell you this Felix has that talent in him. He needs to perform consistently and that is only up to Xavi on how to motivate him. Because when he is at it he actually is one of the most frightening players for any defender. Playing him ahead of Ferran or Raphinha makes no sense. Ferran is good at making those runs in behind but his finishing needs to improve, he's not that much of a treat while dribbling and while Raphinha has a good shot in him he too fails to provide that spark. 4) Try to rotate Lewandowski, Felix, Pedri and Cancelo a lot as these guys could prove to be the difference on the big stage. Roque, Ferran, Fermin and Yamal would be ideal replacements as Barca could revert to a 4-3-3 once they have a respectable lead ahead of the crucial knockout fixtures. 5) Focus on winning knock-out matches - I just hope we don't play the same way as we did yesterday in the UCL. Realistically Barca can still walk away with 2 trophies. But for that to happen especially in the UCL stage you should be ready to sacrifice something. If your team is not capable of playing like the Barcelona of the olden days then I suggest why not revert to a defensively focused core like the team that won matches 1-0 millions of times last season. Yes, I know as a Barcelona fan it goes against my values to say something like sacrifice the style for winning. But when the coach has limited experience tactically ( that's what I feel ) and players who fail to build up good chemistry on the pitch, I'd say why not play like that. It's literally the best method that one could employ for a knockout game. Yes, there might be some backlash but I guarantee you that once you win the UCL everyone will celebrate. I would literally die for our players to have that sort of chemistry that enables them to do one-touch passing in the final third like Real Madrid or tactically dominate teams with a possession-based style like Man City. But we are Barcelona, and we understand the economic crisis that we are in. I respect Xavi for trying to take the reigns of Barcelona sans Messi and also sans money. I also admire certain players for trying to come to Barcelona in these tough times. Would love to hear your opinions on this

I have been following Barça for over three decades, and the only thing I hate is the way we lose against Real Madrid. When I saw the line-up with Roberto and Torres, I decided not to watch the match because I was sure we were going to be humiliated and that's what happened. How can one player score a hat-trick against barça. Yamal and Felix should have played. Xavi was my favorite player but sorry he has to go.

This was the final straw for me in terms of supporting Xavi. We have a top 5 squad in europe and yet we make teams who are fighting for relegation look world class when they play against us. Defensively we're a mess and the high line is not working particularly against the pace of Rodrygo and Vini he couldn't have asked for an easier hattrick. I don't know what we're trying to do on the attack but what's even more embarrassing is if you look at xG we create the most chances in la liga. Do we not run finishing drills in training or something? I've seen them in the short montages barca posts on youtube but in a game we can't put the ball in the back of the net. Yes we have players who are out of form but Xavi never gives other players a chance. The kids have shown that they are at least competent stand ins for a few games. Injuries are not an excuse I actually feel like injuries have been kinder to us so far this season than they have been in the past couple years. We definitely miss Ter Stegen. We just look so out of sorts on the pitch. No runs. No attacking threat. No goal threats. We just pass the ball around for nothing. Not really sure how we fix this problem.

I have multiple grievances with Xavi and his systems and his selections especially but i want to bring out three issues Firstly, Xavi can't call himself a tactian if he failed to prepare for Madrid's biggest game plan. BALLS IN BEHIND. Everyone and their kids could see that's a huge threat with Rodrygo and Vini up top. Secondly and my BIGGEST concern with this team is the tactics. The team is so disjointed. Other than De Jong and Gundo, everyone else attacking were miles apart meaning if the ball goes out wide there's no chance to combine, just cross and pray. So Balde kept losing the ball because theres no one close enough, he is isolated and can only cross and fail. Theres no interplay, no combinations, just pass out wide and pack the box and that isnt BARCA. Finally, the players are given too much freedom. Lewandoski should be occupying the two CBs not dropping deep. Balde should not be in a LW position all the time. Kounde should be a RB in this team. Where's the instructions?? So the reason we kept being opened up is that lack of structure. Even if you want to play a high line, you must make sure you are putting pressure on the ball. And if you're all pressing then you must have a sweeper ready to pick up the long balls played forward. Theres supposed to be cohesion, but there isnt so i saw Pedri, Lewandoski and Roberto try to press but the rest not backing it up meaning one single pass takes those players out of the game. And I know this without having to go get my coaching badges. Anyway, let me know what yall think because i feel like unless Xavi can become more of a tactically adept and actually instruct the players on the triggers to press, the triggers to make runs, how to be close enough to each other to combine, i think things won't change. This isn't a team, just a group of individuals trying to make something happen on their own instead of playing together and combining

I'm a huge Barcelona fan; however, If we need to improve and win games to be over Real Madrid, our main concern is Xavi because he can not improve at all as you are watching all matches. Xavi level of coaching is not the level of Barcelona. Xavi must go somewhere in a lower level club in lealega to improve. The big problem is that Xavi is not learning from his mistakes, and also, he's dreaming that he is the best as, and he forgot that he is a coach that different title because when he was a player no doubt he was good but he is not good enough to coach Barcelona that is fac if you believe or not

I think we need to put Kunde on the market, he hasn't been playing with his heart at Barca. I can't remember the last time Kunde had a brilliant performance wearing Barca colors, it's been mistakes after mistakes. We have enough center backs in the team, letting Kunde leave would not hurt the team.

Our assistant coach is Xavi's brother who has no relation with football never played football never coached a team even an academy, the rest of his assistants consist of two of his cousins then you go deeper and realize Xavi never outclassed a good team

Getting inexperienced coach is big fat mistake Laporta did. There are no miracles every coach needs vast experience to be able to lead top club. Barca has been playing woful football for long time and won La liga only because of Lewy goals and stellar defense. Now Lewy gets some animosity from team that translates into less chances given and defense is like a cheddar cheese full of holes.

I always say that you don’t need the best players in the world to play for your club, you just need the right player profile. I love Xavi but he’s clueless, you have youngsters from the academy but he chose not to play them. He had 2 substitutes left, he didn’t use them. At the half time that’s when you make changes when you are losing 3-1 but he kept them on. Xavi is a good coach when he has no option, when players are injured he works well with what he has but when he does have the option he freezes I’m so disappointed in him but I really thought he was the one that will get the very best from our talents but he failed miserably and I don’t think it’s his inexperience I think it’s his ego!

I was looking at a post about how Bayern transforms players and saw how Lewa looked back then. It looks to me like he's lost Muscle Mass since joining. I share all the pain and frustration with all fellow culers right now. However, there is also one observation i like to raise. Seems to me that the standard of our players has collapsed totally, which is very weird. Of course, players have their own responsibility to up their own game and do the work but it is alarming when so many of our players drop their levels Tremendously and Across the board. I would say Xavi has to be a main factor behind this, how can 1) Balde - A golden boy potential last season, Now - A clueless boy 2) Lewan - A World Class no9 , Now - An invisible man 3) Koude - France 1st Choice RB/ Sevilla Main man in defence (he was so impressive, thats y we bought him in the 1st place), Now - makes so many weird mistakes esp this season 4) Pedri - Our pride and Joy, Now - although he is not too bad but definitely not the Pedri we know 5) Felix - He plays so well in his 1st few games but performs worse and worse as the season went on 6) Araujo - Even our most talented and best defender now showing more cracks that was not seen before my point is , i do not even want to talk abt tactics but even players performance are declining in an alarming manner. I can give Xavi time to improve his tactics but i cannot accept players going backwards so much within this short period of time, totally unacceptable

I seriously think that Xavi has no idea what his tactic is. Around the 18:20 minute in the match Inaki Pena had the ball and all players on the wing were marked so he was going to pass it to the CDM but there was nobody there, and Gundogan was confused and then him and De Jong were looking at each other confused. And this happened a lot on the match. Then when you look at the way we conceded the first goal, Christensen was out as a CDM trying to catch the ball, and our back line was just 3 players (which included Balde). I know the high line was a big mistake, but If we had an actual CDM Christensen wouldn't have had to go out of his line. Gundogan has been playing in that position for the better part of this season, but this time he was going more forward and it actually looked like we had no CDM.
