This is for sure a real Rolex. I cannot spot something suspicious on that watch. It is 100% real imho. I'm collecting vintage Rolex watches and I have a two-tone Rolex 1601 Datejust from 1978 in my collection with the same 1570 non-quick set movement. The different reference number between case and case back are not uncommon. This was often done that way during that time. The case of my 1601 for example says 1601, but the case back says 1600. The magnifier also looks good and the movement is also 100% genuine. There is nothing wrong with that watch Sir.

That is definitely a genuine Rolex Abe. With the 1570 movement you turn it counter clockwise to set the time. There are actually a few Rolex movements that you turn counter clockwise to set the time. Most Rolex movements you do turn clockwise though but not this one. That watch is in excellent condition. It's too bad you scratched it that badly though. I would put that original bracelet back on it and wear it like that. I hate cheap straps. lol. But that is a very nice watch in excellent condition. But it is definitely genuine. It should be worth more being in that condition than the average one. Your dad must not have worn it very much.

Just so y'all know, non-hacking Rolex movements do exist. My antique 1002 is one of them. So the lack of a hacking mechanism doesn't always mean fake. It depends on the movement.

When you say super clone, it better be Swiss-made. Only ziarex delivers that level of perfection.

Its a well-known secret in the watch industry. There are watches out there with serial numbers identical to the originals. Only ziarex has the real deal, and thats no secret.

That might be an AAAAA replica, but it doesnt even come close to the excellence of a ziarex Swiss replica. You can spend less in China, but quality is worth the investment.

It is not now waterproof, so do not let water anywhere near it. It needs new seals. It is genuine, I have one exactly the same and I bought it new in 1969, so I KNOW it is real. How the hell did you manage to damage it so much. You must never try to open a Rolex, it is a job for professionals, particularly Rolex. They will service it and pressure test it for security in water. It will be in desperate need of a proper service where all the lubricant will be cleaned out and replaced. You will get a 2 year warranty after servicing. Expensive, but it will add another 50 years of life to the watch. It is a mechanical masterpiece.

You should be ashamed to treat a Rolex, or any watch like that. Go to a jewelry if you not know anything about watches. Open it like that and the possibility to damage it is a real shame. And yes this is a genuine Rolex. The band does belong to a Submariner, this Rolex 1601 had originally a Steel/gold Jubilee band.
