I’ll just share something that happened today! I have been watching these videos for a short time now to modernise my look. I finally took the plunge and bought some white sneakers. Today I was at a large pharmacy strolling about gathering products for my sons impending trip overseas. The young man at the checkout complimented me on how I looked so well put together😅 What a surprise for an old lady! I had the said sneakers , mid blue jeans, white button down shirt, my newly acquired navy Oroton belt ( I am sure that’s what did it) and a cardigan that can only be described as French blue in colour nonchalantly slung around my shoulders and my deep peach/ brown shoulder bag on this plus sized body. We had a short discussion about neutral colours, he loved the blues I had chosen. It put a spark in my day as I have to work hard to look put together! Thanks for the inspiring videos.

Love 2,3 and 5 with the blazer, blazer pulls the outfit together. Your outside shots of the Louvre brought back memories of our trip through Paris, traveling from Athens, Greece to Washington, DC. We had a Paris morning to spend before catching a late afternoon flight. I was wearing a beige Benetton sheath dress, low heels for walking, simple silk scarf and minimal jewelry. I easily hailed a cab and took our young daughter to the Louvre. It must have impressed her because she later studied Art History in Greece and completed a Masters in Museum Studies at Leicester In England. That 6 hour detour to the Museum was life altering for her. Will copy outfit 3 for today’s outings. Thanks as always.

I was going through my wardrobe the other day discarding clothes that no longer fit (I’ve lost some weight and this time I’m determined to keep it off) and I found a trench coat that I’d forgotten about. It looks so much better than a quilted anorak and I’m really pleased with it. It looks good with both smart attire and jeans. Thank you for the tip! ☺️

As a hippy thick thigh girl skinny jeans didn’t work for me. I love the baby boot cut from the outfit with the stripe shirt. I love button down shirts will definitely be replicating it.

I like all the looks. I carried a Rebecca Minkoff Edie flap bag in cognac color. It's like a vault! I kept my slim wallet in the inside back zip pocket, my iPhone in the center interior zip pocket. The chain strap is adjustable to shoulder or crossbody, but I can say that my shoulder got a bit sore from the crossbody, even with the leather section, the chain still rubbed a bit. Still, I felt very secure from pickpockets, especially on the metro. I was there a month, so the cognac went with my navy, cream, cognac capsule wardrobe. I also carried a Bandolier iPhone case with an attached pouch in cream. I used it for picnics with my friends.

My favorite was the striped shirt. The style and flow of the shirt is like one I have that is white with black stars scattered all over. I’ve tried to style it with different shirts, but like yours with the tank top. So, black jeans, star shirt and either white or black tank. I could perhaps do a red or hot pink tank, if I get brave. I haven’t gotten a trench coat. Not sure I would wear it often as I tend to go with sweaters or blazers and have an umbrella handy. Thanks for this and the other ideas for styling.

Actually, this look is my current favorite! Love the dark wash wide leg jeans, the classic T, and the black moto jacket! I add some gold jewelry to this outfit. Wearing it on repeat this winter! ❤

Great video Marie-Anne, number 2 absolutely love it for the younger ladies that are much younger than me, I cannot choose between the number 4 or 5 love the blue cross body bag. But especially for someone of my advancing years I j’adore the Blazer, so having said all that I have to vote my number 1 as the one of you passing the Channel shop. Off shopping tomorrow so I am adjusting the way I wear my jeans, thank you Marie-Anne for a most enjoyable video, plus how lovely to be able to hop on a train to meet your friends for coffee.

All the outfits are so flattering on you and complement your figure. For me, I like outfit #5 the best with the classic straight leg jeans, simple striped top, ballet flats, and blazer. Very cool. Yesterday, I wore white, relaxed jeans with a pink Pink Floyd tshirt and my Coach sneakers and large Coach handbag 😊 Usually, I wear straight or loose jeans with nice sweaters or shirts, and various shoes depending ( loafers, mules, etc) , so right with you.

I love the ease and...simplicity! These all look so good, my favourites are the one with the white cardigan and surprisingly the one with the striped shirt. As a rectangle/athletic shape I avoid bold vertical stripes, but I see how those slim flared jeans softened and balanced out that verticality with a beautiful silhouette underneath, I will try that.

Bonjour Pauline - I emphasise that Style does not have to be expensive. I have done videos on brands such as Zara, UNIQLO and H&M and also videos on budget stores such as Talbots and Karen Kane, Banana Republic Factory and a few others. I regularly feature my own pieces which are from high street brands. I have very few pieces that could be termed high end 😃

I liked outfit 3 best. I finally pulled the trigger and bought the Lilysilk striped shirt. I have been looking at it for a couple of months, but hated to spend the money. I did, because I know I will regret it, if I don't get it. I can't however spend $275 for a pair of jeans. I know something in my closet will work. I love the way you throw outfits together. Thanks!

Here in the US , there are many brands of quality jeans at " middle class budget " prices . I found Nine West straight leg jeans on sale ( $29.99 !! ) in black , dark gray , dark / med. / light wash at Kohls . At that price , well made , & personally a good fit in a classic style , I bo't several ! Lee & Levi often are on sale & have a variety of styles plus go fr. light to dark washes so these tried 'n true brands are a good buy too . Being a country gal , I have a passion for a good pair of jeans , whether for riding horses or dressing jeans up w/ a silk shirt & blazer ! 👖💙

They have unique personalities & are a versatile breed ! Several of my good friends are lifetime App. owners , both trail ride & show , so learned a lot fr. them because of their passion for the breed . I'm mainly a Quarter Horse person , but trained , showed & judged other breeds & several disciplines . A lifetime of friendships & learning fr. each other . Life is good - ride on ! ♥

Hi Marie Anne :) I was in Paris for the very first time this week and I was able to spot all of the “French Chic Ladies” quite easily due to you! French women truly look so pulled together and chic! Their manner of dress is everything you have been sharing, less is truly more. Tailored clothing that fits, neutrals, and a beautiful bag (not to forget the shoes)! We are now in London and are returning home to the US on the 9th of June. I am so excited to get into my closet when we are home and create my outfits so I too can be a “French Chic Lady”.

I have some hand-crafted necklaces from Etsy that I like to wear with them. They are made of leather strands with a cluster of beads, rocks, and various small metal pieces.
