Ditch the Label

Latest Ditch the Label research uncovers that 1 in 2 young people now want to change their physical appearance; with children as young as 13 now considering invasive procedures such as plastic surgery, botox and breast enlargement in order to feel better about themselves.
Featuring the semi-nude bodies of real life people, the video has one take-home message: you don’t have to be a skinny size-8 girl or a muscular built guy in order to be attractive. The video refreshingly finds that different people find different body shapes attractive for various reasons.

Its been my experience that if you are of an older generation, you aren't to like someone younger, say 50 liking 30, because you are considered too old for that person, also, you don't make enough money, or drive a fancy car, or have really nice clothes. In my youth, my brother died, I had no one else, so I basically grew up alone, how you look at things after that, how you react, how you treat or are treated, my mind literally stopped working after that (mind coma), I went through life shut off to the world, and everyone in it. Finally I've been able to break free, from the mind coma, it only took 35 years, and I'm ready to try and live life again, but I'm old now and most people that I want to hang out with are not the ones my own age.

At about 2:25 not all of them looked healthy that is so false that people think that people those sizes are healthy if there was a super bony(past just petite/skinny with their bones poking out) I would say the same thing but don't lie to people and say that they're healthy like that lady did just be honest maybe even help them out it doesn't have to be a diet it has to be a life change

okay so you are tying to shove "acceptance" down people's throats by not even INCLUDING what is considered a perfect body in the media. Well yeah if people only have to choose from normal bodies it will come across as if "people love all body types" give me a break ....

I feel like a lot of these responses were completely loaded and false. It is sad because it is a poor attempt at making people who are "chubby" or "fat" to feel better about their unhealthy lifestyles. I'm sorry, but the sculpted man and the woman with a good, moderate layer of fat are the healthy ones. Not the chubby men and women, nor the insanely skinny men and women. Healthy is attractive and I know that majority of real people prefer/are attracted to the sculpted/moderate type because THAT is what is healthy.

I'm sick of this forced acceptance of unhealthy lifestyles. I want people to be healthy and happy and I would be a shit friend to not help my fat friends to get healthy rather than feed them bullshit that they're okay as a fat unhealthy person.

Who are you to decide at what weight your friend should be happy with their lives? Sure if your friend asks you to help then by all means help, but don´t force it onto them. Also I feel like today a lot of people classify anything above a size 10 as unhealthy so really you can´t just speak for the majority of people because everyone has a different view of who is unhealthy. Is the girl with the fitness body who drowns herself in self loathing really healthy? Health is also about mental health. I am above a size 12 and my doctor has yet to find something moderately unhealthy in me, especially since I eat mostly healthy and wholesome and workout. But I have a slow metabolism so I might never get a completely flat stomach or well sculpted thighs and to be judged by strangers just by the looks of my body and hear assumptions about my health makes me feel even worse and like it´s not worth fighting the urge to comfort eating. So please don´t play the devils advocate and maybe show some empathy and maybe don´t pass judgement on people. Worry about yourself! Also it´s sooo ironic that you tried to cover up your fat phobia with the whole "being too skinny is also unhealthy" whilst in the end of your post you ranted on about wanting to force a person you consider fat and unhealthy to change. But you did not mention anything about helping the too skinny friend. So yeah you´re full of bullshit actually!

mrArchduke I disagree. I know genetically it makes more sense to only be attracted to 'healthy' looking people but the fact is that health is also an issue and stereotype in that toned/slender = healthy and fat untoned= unhealthy , it depends what your concept is of health. many people are only a low weight and even look toned because of their illness, the same can happen with obese looking people. I've met plenty of model looking people who were unfit and ode their bodies to drugs and genetics and plenty of 'fat' people who ate pretty standard healthy diet, hiked miles yet had illness that caused them to hold onto their weight, if you have thyroid, liver, and some stomach/bowel issues maybe other illness I'm unaware of you can hold onto weight regardless of how much you exercise or how healthy you eat because there is simply a problem within it that needs more than a healthy diet and exercise to be cured.

mrArchduke I've been sexually attracted to men of all sizes, types etc I can't see any patterns. I don't find a particular body type attractive. It's more to do with individuals I find a lot of people just unattractive to me, in terms of beauty and sexual attraction regardless of whether they look like a model or have amazingly fit body and perfect health. I've been all different sizes and to be honest I prefer the people I attracted more after I put weight on, I found they had more depth and not so obsessed with my image, which genetic praise for my parents screwing I don't need, it's kind of weird, like being praised for your ancestors doing something, taking someone elses accomplishments.

Caramel Piecrumb to be a size 8-10 I had to cycle 8 miles per day, walk 5-8 per day, do intensity exercises and jog for 1-2 hours per day and was eating 1 apple, 1 side salad with no dressings, protein etc and 1-2 potatoes and black coffee with no sweetners..that's how I maintained it, obviously my body was not supposed to be that size, I don't think many health experts would recommend that diet/daily exercise as a healthy lifestyle. I'm 5'3 and ideally suppose to weigh a weight I cannot get to by eating any 'healthy' diet.
