Thanks for that, great to see a young pilot really enjoying herself on the Simulator. I am almost 70 years old and have been flying simulators since my forties when they began. Over the years people wonder why I play this game as they call it, being disabled I have managed to teach myself the systems of the cessnas up to the private jets which I love the best. When this Simulation by Microsft jumped this far forward I was astonished. I am able to fly both business jets using all startup, in flight and landinģ procedures through FMC and ILS due to FSX and XPlanes. I smile when young and middle aged simmers who spend more time looking out the window are totally lost by not learning the best part which is instrument and situation awareness control of these aircraft. To see a real pilot enjoying the experience is heartwarming, keep smiling and flying, and stay safe. John (UK).

I think it's fun to see so many pilots all excited about this game, not just us gamers/enthusiasts. Happy to say I've managed 1/4 landings in the A320neo so far; I think I'm ready for my license.

I tuned in to see what a pilot thought of FS 2020. I was absolutely entertained. You had me laughing on you landing. I have been siming for 10 years and that reminded me of one of my better landings when I first started. ( my worst completely missing the runway or running off the runway) It will most likely take you a few more tries to get the feel of it. It took me a month to finally land safely. ( in FSX) loved the video.

I used to fly single engine aircrafts IRL and the sim in VR is pretty close to the real thing on a good PC. I just hope they include hand / finger tracking in the future so we can press buttons, switches, throttle, yoke etc. That would be amazing.

Hi Emily. Great video. Q400 is awesome. My uncle was the lead engineer in charge of the the Dash 7 and 8, Buffalo and Otter. He got his start at AVRO where he was project lead on the tail section of the Arrow. After the cancellation, a bunch of his buddies left for NASA but he stayed North. Also, there are different views you can use, there is a "landing" view that sits you up a bit so you can see the approach better over the dash.

It's so cool to see Vancouver being shown and to see your reaction to it in one of these FS videos! I live in the Vancouver area and have been sim flying out of Boundary Bay and the scenery really does look like real life. Some of the buildings aren't right, but the scenery is definitely amazing!

You basically showcased what I like about flight sims. You can fly wherever you want and check out different places in the world. And with fs2020 using satellite maps and such with that 3D photogrammetry, it'll be better than it ever was before to virtually travel in the sim.

A series of tutorials on take off, cruise, and landing settings for each plane would be great! The sim only explains a 152. And even that isn't great. Then you have to go lookup how to fly everything else they stick you in.

Who needs a real licence when you can have this much fun hey Em ;) i wanna get one of those vibrating seat things and VR and im set for life lol also you can use the mouse to look around click the centre mouse wheel for easy looking for vision and great video btw

Cool video! I've used microsoft flight simulator as long as I can remember. Now a full time CFII but I still use a simple home setup to keep my instrument scan sharp, practice procedures and scenarios, and have fun. Hope you make more of these MSFS2020 videos!

The cities are updated as frequently as Bing maps are updated. So for more populated areas it’s pretty frequent, for less populated areas, less so.

After a very stressful day, I watched you tackle the new Flight Sim. It was so much fun to see how excited you were to play this game. I wish I could afford it, and actual yoke and pedal controls. Love to fly, but have never had the opportunity to pilot. Flew on the Dash-8 one time and fell in love with it. You are so lucky to be able to do what you do. Sorry you damaged your landing gear. I think I had almost as much fun as you did, just watching you. Thank you for making me smile. I needed that. I've noticed a lot of pilots overcontrol when you put them in non-motion flight sims. I think it's because there's no feedback from G-forces that let you feel how effective your input is, so you end up putting in too much. Takes some getting used to!

i can strongly recommend Courchevel, for a good old heart stopper!

Vancouver looked beautiful as always, I lived just south of there for the last 3.5 years. If you want an awesome Q-400, hopefully MAJESTIC is going to bring there's over, by far the best on the market. We definitely need to see more of you! Ton answer your question early on Emilie if noones already told you (Ive not read all the comments) theyre planning a whole load of DLC packs down the line both free and paid so chances are you will be able to get your hands on a Dash 8 sooner or later (they're also fully supporting third party devs and community content so be patient!) Theyre also adding VR support as if it could get any more mind blowing visually!!!!

You need to get yourself a Track IR, so when you move your head you can look around the cockpit.

Asobo promises a decade worth of development and updates. But to answer your question, dozens of third party devs will continuously implement scenery and aircraft add-ons. There was an incredible Dash-8 payware model for FSX. I imagine someone will eventually make one.

Emilie, There will be continous upgrades and patches for years to come! The map for example is a real live map that updates as changes are made! the same goes for planes, as new planes are released the developers will release a patch! The best thing however is the VR headset! This game is a masterpeice!

Everyone who tries this game for the first time always says the controls are so sensitive. You can adjust the sensitivity!

Awesome stuff. I really enjoyed that and love your reaction to crashing at the end. I tried the Courcheval landing challenge a few months ago, and needless to say I failed miserably. I'm not a pilot in real life though, and probably should never be, based on that. Hahaha! Haven't played the game in a few months but the Nordic update was just released and I'm in the mood to fly again now. I especially want to see how they improved Svalbard.
