2:16 In Italy's defense, one of their largest problems was that their commanders were borderline incompetent, often promoted to their positions based on party loyalty, bribery, nepotism, etc. instead of ability. Rommel himself actually complemented the average Italian soldier, saying that they were good fighters and tended to be brave, while simultaneously calling their commanders idiots.

Stalin planned an invasion of Europe. If I remember correctly one of the reasons why they encircled so many Russian troops early in the war was because the Russian soldiers were formed up for an offensive.

@@nocapdribblezz6183 Stalin was Hitler's only opponent in Europe. In 1938, a non-aggression and friendship pact was signed between Great Britain and Germany. In the same year, the Munich Agreement was signed between Great Britain and Germany, in which Great Britain allowed Germany to seize part of Czechoslovakia. In the 1935 Naval Pact, Britain allowed Germany to take back its navy. We should also not forget about the "pact of four" in 1933 between Germany, Italy, Great Britain and France. These countries wanted to subjugate the whole of Europe to their hegemony. If you're a Westerner, I wouldn't be surprised if you're hearing all this for the first time...

Documents were planted to Gestapo in Russian citating how Stalin was planning to attack Germany first. This was very nicely faked documents made from British secret agency also supplied so that it looks like a Russian secret agencie made a flaw.Ultimatelly Britian could avoid Hitlers invasion and win the war on the cost of 27 million Russians dieing for their cause.

The other reason he lost in North Africa was the fact the British cracked the enigma code and would sabotage some of their shipments. They didn’t destroy all of them because they didn’t want the Germans to figure this out. They sabotaged shipments mostly from the Italian peninsula to make it look like someone in Italy was helping the Allies. This created even more distrust between the Germans and Italians.

The fact that Germany was only a nation of 80 million (including Austria and Bohemia/Moravia) against the USSR (194 Million), USA (132 million) and Great Britain (44.7 million) Germany was horrendously outnumbered. Doesn't help them either that the main Allies were all world spanning super states while Germany was restricted in Central Europe. The Allies also had the advantage of defending all the resources Germany desperately needed to conquer just to sustain the war. Edit: Populations based on 1940 (google)

I highly doubt he could have "won". I mean, he might have won in Europe but do you imagine him stopping there? You could write a whole book about all the reasons he lost the war. Part of it was the same reason the Confederacy lost the Civil War - lack of fuel, lack of metal, lack of food, and lack of men. Then he fought a war on four fronts. Then he underestimated the strength of the British, Soviets, and the USA. Then there was his invasion of Russia, which is because of a mistake he made as a boy - he played hooky on the day his teacher discussed Napoleon.

One big reason the USA had such a significantly stronger industrial capacity than the other major players in the war was that the USA was across the world. The UK, France, Russia, Italy, and Austria were continuously bombed throughout the war, with industrial centers being of particular interest for strategic bombings. This caused all major powers to continuously lose production capacity while the USA never had this concern and could focus solely on production and not rebuilding.

Attacking the USSR and starting the war were not Hitler's mistakes. These were decisions he was forced to make due to lack of oil and food supplies. If in 1941 Germany had waited another year as it was, it would have lost all its oil and food, leading to its economic disaster. Operation "fall Barbarossa" had to be carried out in order to reach new resources. Therefore, the main targets of the Wehrmacht were Stalingrad and Baku. Stalingrad ensured control of the northern Kakuaz region, which would allow the Wehrmacht to concentrate troops in the southern Kakuaz to capture Baku. In this sense, Stalingrad was not a mistake either, but a decision guided by problems in Germany's resources. It gave the Wehrmacht time for further conquest, the Volga held back the main Soviet resources, which hampered their industry.

Major factor on why he ACTUALLY lost is that soviet union was easily able to replenish their manpower while germany was not, then germany was spread even thinner when allies invaded in the west, germany had 3 million at the start of barbarossa, soviets also had similar numbers, but the difference was that soviet numbers were only going up, while germany's numbers were only going down.

Japan had alot of success at that time as well so he probably assumed Japan could hold off the US long enough for him to finish Russia. He did not see lend lease helping Russia rebiuld so many army's and tanks. Then the Germany first policy began to wipe out the German economy hammering oil supplies and resources.. Then the US landing an entire army in Africa during Stalingrad didn't help much.

Germany lost because the allies had more of everything. More men, more weapons and more oil. The allies didn't so much win the war on the battle field as in american factories. The fundamental reason why dictators or any autocratic regime never lasts is because of lack of empathy towards the human beings they rule upon. Let alone armies, civilizations need food, water, resources, etc. to sustain... These dictators, by nature, do not care for this. You can only supress human beings so much... Then they either rebel or 'let it rot' if the oppressor is too powerful. It is the fundamental nature of autocratic modals to fall... Only those systems which empathetically connect and grow every being will ever survive and sustain. We human beings ought to learn this by now.

Beyond the ideological interests centered on fascism and nationalism, considering that Poland was completely conquered in 28 days, Mussolini might have recognized that an alliance with Germany would have offered Italy a stronger position in Europe, especially in a context where Italy felt internationally isolated following its invasion of Ethiopia in 1935, which also led to sanctions from the League of Nations. Furthermore, he might have believed that the alliance with Germany would provide Italy with opportunities for territorial expansion and political influence, thereby compensating for its relatively weaker military position. Thus, the decision was not solely due to irrationality; one can only imagine the fate Italy might have faced had it opposed Germany... it is likely that within three days, it would have been utterly devastated.

You realize the invasion of Soviet Union was NEVER about oil or any other resource? The Germans had enough resources of their own. Germany invaded because it was becoming quite clear that the Allied powers were funding Soviet's army into a massive offensive force to take advantage of the weakened countries due to the prolonged war that Churchill the warmonger wanted so badly. Germans stationed at East Prussia could clearly see a massive force of Red Army soldiers amassing at the border in preparations for their invasion of Germany and Western Europe. The allied powers knew the full extent of Soviet Union's intention to invade and conquer the weakened Western European states and it was coming (if as Stalin had hoped) as Germany invaded Britain or not, either way they were going to invade Germany. You really oughta listen to his speeches, you would understand why he invaded Soviet Union and sent peace offers to Britain beforehand to end their unnecessary war and stand with Germany against the Soviet menace, and not some propagandist piece on KZfaq who gets his information from the already questionable history told by the victors of WWII.
