When I joined service in 1963 (MofD non uniform) my BP was.205+30. DA My forman payment was 400/Armed forces payment was very.bad that time... During previous govt rule....!!!!!

@@neo3823 that is also not necessary. Let every one speak his own mother tongue and English an international link language. and the rest are only for bureaucrats serving the respective state. The Kamaths are widespread in Karnataka. They speak many languages depending on the portion of Karnataka. Mangalore malayalam , Mysore Tamil, Goa, Belgaum- Marathi, so he expects all of us to do thesame.

All this sounds fine on paper. But few people know that corruption, discrimination and social, caste and religious bias is rampant in the army. I am recounting the experience of some senior army officers who were harassed during their service. From the outside the army sounds very cozy, but inside, there are a lot of problems when it comes to selection and promotions. It is like the local government service. The more powerful you are the chances are better for you.

Thank you. You have had very little exposure as as an army ''brat'' to the realities inside the army. Nobody talks inside the army. I am also an army ''brat'' from the 1950s. My father told me many things. As for the ''corrupt'' army officers, the less said the better. The army discipline in the civilian set up does not work. When everyone is rich and dishonest, a little bit of indiscipline can make a person very wealthy. Have you ever heard of a retired army officer asking for a bribe? In the past there have also been traitors within the army, but they got away. I am sorry to spoil your impression about the armed forces. @@sudhirsehgal1143

It is the duty of all government all over world to look after their forces in all respect while in services and after retirement. our government looking after our forces well and our forces are doing excellent job both in war and peace time. Some people becoming officers directly by passing exams with no experiece are the reasons sometimes where lower grade constables are mistreated n also leading to suicide. They never understand the hardships faced by duty constables ..🙏

Income GDP of India is about 2,240 USD/ person (2021), I'm wondering that why the army officers' salary is much like that (Captain ~ 16,336UDS/ year). For Vietnam, GDP is about 3,765 USD/ person and the salary of an army officer/ captain is almost same (about 4,174USD/ year).

There is nothing known as free service in the defence.Their day starts at 5.30a.m in the morning with P.T and no fixed time for ending the day.They serve in very difficult areas like Siachen and disturbed areas like J&K and North East.They go searching for militants in the middle of the night.They sacrifice their family life and all comforts.So friend nothing is free they have earned it.

in the armd forces the highest pay benefits and the quick promotions and other facilities are being given to those who are selected as an officer in the armd forces than the commissioned officers in civil administrative services. But in the armd forces those who are enrolled as a soldier there is very few pay allowances and pensionery benefits and other facilities rather than officer and very slow promotion. in the fifteen year of services Naik is promoted to havaldar rank and hav is promoted to jco rank on the ninteen years of service

@@nagudhiman7039 maybe agniveer ..but the bulk of present day soldiers are max just 10 pass...they are mostly selected based on ones physical abilities ..rest all is very basic ...if compare with the competition outside a soldier who is barely 10 pass if all perks and privileges or Army are counted like free medical for him and his dependents including parents ...CSD ...food ..house and two reservations free per year the job is 1 lakh per month ...so bottom line...Govt looks after them very well

Military job isn't for hard cash, but national service. Military officers of rank of Brigadier or above literally live in 2 to 3 room rented flats after retirement.

Rented ? Not possible.. salaries are also its saved col + are getting 2lacs + pm , yet they get everything free fro ration to residence etc loans are given on almost 2% int rates..i have not seen any Brigadier living in rented apartment .. Defense colony in Delhi and similar areas are developed n allocated only to Army officers

they don't join Army postal service, they come on deputation to Army in Army Postal Service. They are civilian Group B officers and not Group A Officers and they get Group B pay scale. If they come on deputation to the army then they have the option to draw an equivalent pay scale of military service.
