Agree 14.5 from BCM, Geissele , or DD upper is the way to go for the do it all firearm. You buy from one of those then you will get decent value and will last a long time.

BCM is also a fantastic option to start with for the money. Outstanding rifles, and wayyyy more cost effective than Geisselle.

Great video bro! Was shooting my recently built 14.5 today. Not a URGI, I built it with random parts but it’s been 100% so far and I’m loving it. Got it topped off with a 1-8 which has been great so far as well. I can only shoot out to 50 yards right now (hopefully longer later on) but I’ve been getting .7 and .8” groups with match loads and around 1” with PMC 55 grain. Really wanna put it on steel at 4-500 yards to see what it’s really capable of. Keep up the great content

For me, semi auto 308 is more of a do all because it expands on the range and hunting capabilities. But nothing really does it all, which is what makes buying and building new guns so addictive lol.

Only thing of importance I buy into with lowers is the importance of tight lock up with the upper for highest accuracy potential. I have zero tests or evidence to justify that thought beyond other guntuber’s comments, but it seems to make sense.

I love the URGI with the ATACR. Good call on the One Hundred Concepts flip cap. This is the way. But do yourself a favor and get the OHC rear flip to match. So much more convenient than the Tenebraex with that rotating ocular. You’ll love it.

Great video. My brother has the URGI and it’s great. I have a piston LWRC, and I love that gun, but it is heavy for sure. No matter how much you work out, weight still matters.

Buyer beware Zaviar Firearms stripped lower receiver both lowers I received was out of spec got tired of all the emails so now I have a 110 dollar paper weight replaced it with a Geissele lol great video though good to see more video's yes I agree and my main squeeze is my 14.5 pinned and welded but almost finished building out a complete Geissele 16 inch in 40mm green that I'm really starting to like a bunch but yes definitely agree with you 14.5 all the way

I can't reconcile doing a 14.5" sbr in my mind when a full length 16" with the correct muzzle device is literally only between 1/4" to 1/2" longer. I have the Bushmaster X15 with the pinned and welded AK brake stock. That's my 14.5. When I do a pistol, I can't reconcile 14.5" because it's so long compared to the other options.

After shooting and handling my IWI CARMEL I can confidently say my 12.5 with Lahar 30 feels like a toy and I hate it. I’m going to build and upper but my thing with the pin and weld is I don’t want it to be messed up considering it’s about $150 depending on location

I have a 14.5” as my range case and red dot set up gun but I have a 16” PWS piston upper on a radian lower and that’s my desert hiking gun GPR build with a Eotech 1-10

What’s your SOP for the 1x on the atacr? Do you typically use the illum? Do you feel like using 1x without illum is useable? Do you just use the top dot for your 1x?

I have a PSA Sabre 14.5 and it does everything I need it to do and well. You don’t always have to spend a lot of money to get a quality product that will do what you need it to do. If I had the money I’d absolutely get a nicer setup but I don’t and I’m happy with my setup. And I shoot all the time. Had to replace gas rings and that’s it.

What are your thoughts on the PSA Sabre 14.5"? It comes with the Geissle MK14 rail, FN CHF barrel, Radian Raptor LT charging handle, Hiperfire RBT trigger, and Magpul furniture. Seems like a good buy for $1250.

I think 14.5 is overhyped. We had 14.5 in the Army and I can’t tell a huge difference in maneuverability. If I’m going to pin and weld I’m going take full advantage of a shorter 16” barrel and go 13.7/9. I think a good rounded arsenal is 16” MPVO for longer range, 13.7/9 LPVO pin and weld, and a 11.5 for home defense / short range. Nothing wrong with a 16”. That’s just my thought tho.
