Real ones are ALWAYS going to have a brown color in the insert portion (bottom of the cartridge). And fake ones are ALWAYS going to have a pale green color or white. I don’t understand how everyone misses that shit.

The bottom of the esrb rating I'd also different at the bottom, great video I'm going to keep my eye out when I go to my friend house and see if all his are real

I noticed by the label and the fact that the top one’s inside is yellow. (For those who don’t know, if the inside of an n64 cartridge is yellow, it normally means it’s fake. I’ve never seen a fake one with an orange inside, since orange insides are usually found in real copies. I have a very similar smash 64 repro and I know this from a friend.)

The bottom one had a faded Nintendo seal of quality. Which means it had more years on it. A repro looks too new

A way I tell is just by smelling the game. If you open a nes or whatever box and smell that distinct old women smell that’s what you’re looking for on Nintendo and Atari cartridges. Counterfits will have a metallic or plastic smell

I could tell bottom was real just by the age of it, and yellow on pikachus but reminds me of the old Pokémon cards

The ESRB E shape was different, and the colors were a bit different on the front.

I knew because the ESRB the top one looks like the newer version & the bottom one looks like it fit in along with the N64

Really, people couldn’t tell which one was fake? I own a repro copy and I could immediately tell it was the top one. The colors are just a tad bit darker and the plastic looked a bit… I don’t know the right word. Milky? Anyway, I’m kinda mad it’s the only game in my collection that’s a repro but I just went with it because I legitimately could not find a decently clean official copy for a good price. All the ones I found were extremely yellowed, missing their labels, highly damaged, but were being sold for $80 or more. And that was all I could find at the time.
