I own 8 acres of land, have 2 zero turns and a small John Deere 1023e tractor. Trailer and small tractor combined doesn't go over 3500lbs. This truck is enough for 99% of people including myself. Most new trucks I see are parked in suburbia. Guys that are actually working their trucks aren't driving king ranch f250s.

I live far out in the country that demands a pickup truck, which can be judged by my channel. I've researched EVERY truck, as I will need a 4 door. Bang for your buck, this is a tough truck to beat. Will tow what I need, can do grocery visits, vacations, and camping trips. Not sure why so many dont think this is a truck, I think it's great.

I know many truck guys would say that the Ridgeline is not a real truck. For me personally, it may not be as off road capable like the Tacoma but the Ridgeline fits my truck needs just fine. It also has plenty of interior room for a mid-size, has great power from the 3.5 V6, and it drive very nice and comfortable to drive everyday.

I was actually run over by a car I fell out of when I was a kid. I was halfway in the back seat, and the lady driving the carpool car floored it without making sure we were all buckled in. The rear wheel ran over my leg, broke it, put me in the hospital overnight and I was in a wheelchair for almost a month after that. I'm so glad to see cars getting smarter about this safety issue!

What about the stock bed liner, super durable...built in truck bed speakers...I use them all the time...and the built in dog bowls in back doors, water tight cup holders...find that on any competitor. The truck has the best all wheel drive with torque vectoring, blows away any competitor. So much superior in snow. Off road is excellent but for less ground clearance...needs an air lift system... handles like a sports car and rides like a cadillac. Honda brakes , nothing better...Your review does not do this truck justice. Best in every way. Bigger trucks are lumbering and heavy. Get a Honda you will love it. If not then just buy a lumber truck like an F150 bablabablababla. 🤣

I just bought one of these used ... we needed a family truck, it needed to fit in the garage and it needed to be something that would fit our 3-year old twins comfortably in the back seat with their car seats. Didn't really want a full size truck since that's like driving a tank now and wouldn't fit in the garage. Looked at a Taco and a Nissan Frontier. This was the only one with a backseat that would still comfortably fit everyone. I really liked the raised stadium seating style of the backseats vs the other mid-size trucks where the bench is lower down and your knees are in your chin. Liking the truck so far although I had to figure out how to disable all of the annoying stuff like the seat automatically moving when I get in or out, disabling lane assist, stuff like that. I'm analog and this truck is very modern for me lol.
@geeksplosion
@geeksplosion 3 жыл бұрын
I think the "get up speed" can been significantly improved by using "S" mode. In that mode you can just drop down a gear with the paddle shifter when you push the accelerator for immediate torque increase (instead of waiting for the truck to do it for you).

Did you remember to disable Eco Mode, before doing the acceleration test? With the Eco Button enabled, Earth Dreams i-VTEC alternates between 2, 3, 4, or 6 active pistons to maximize fuel economy. The delay is likely activation of all 6 pistons. The 2020 model also added paddle shifting, wireless charging, and two position rear door brackets (doors open wider); the 2019 didn’t have those features.

Correct! I have the 2019 ridgeline, i only use the Eco mode when cruising on the highway, otherwise, the performance is way better without it. More responsive and there's no lag when it's off. I'd rather pay a little more for the fuel.

Would have liked more of a comparison to the older 6 speed. That "lag" when he punched it could be indicative to the 9 speed "gear hunting" a bit. Many Pilot reviews and owners prefer the 6 speed to the 9 speed which in earlier versions did have some issues. I know there is not a ton of snow in the Spokane area but doing a demo in "snow mode" would been helpful. There are parking sensors in the rear. Just didn't come close enough to activate them. I have a 2019 RTL-E and it's great for what it is. I call it a "TUV" ( truck utility vehicle). No it is not going to top a Colorado or a Tacoma off or towing but for everything else it blows them away. Comfort/fuel economy/interior space etc etc.

Great review. Looks like the rear doors open all the way now. Good. No knob for stereo is a miss although some Honda’s had it last year? reminds me of Toyota and Mazda not having Apple car play for so many years. Do they even listen to consumers and reviews? Under the back seat they need cubbies for ropes, tie downs, etc. like my old Frontier has. Shouldn’t have to cut a milk carton to make some on a $40K truck. Ridgeline is still on my short list for a buy next year, after I see the new 2021 Frontier.

The in bed trunk is fantastic and useful, the leg room in the back seat is better on the ridgeline and the interior on the ranger is cheap. The ride was more comfy in the ridgeline. @solidaverage
@solidaverage 4 жыл бұрын
C P Car makers are putting in these transmissions with more gears mostly for tested fuel economy. Under ideal conditions, more gears means the engine can stay in its most efficient RPM range longer. In the real world, you’re right, you’re probably not going to notice the difference between a 6 and a 9.
