@Evi1 M4chine most games use the preex water physics e.g from Unity or unreal engine with slight chances in shading, looks and performance. Well I mean that solves both problems doesn't it? Folks complained the tsunami defense was blocking the ocean view - well if the ocean view property is the tsunami defense then there you go. From the top down view it also looks like you only need about 10 rows of the PS5 buildings to eat the wave and only 7.5 need to be rebuilt every wave - so it is economical too.

You could do this exact same test, but separate each section of district/buildings with a long, thin line of terrain running in the same direction as the wave. That way you could see the speed and spread of the wave in each section in isolation without the waves dispersing into surrounding areas. Think your Tesla thing, but with buildings instead of swoopy bits. Edit: I forgot to mention you need to add a section of only bouncy castles. Because nothing screams "Matt is a well balanced individual" like stopping a tsunami with a bunch of bouncy castles.

I think this needs to be redone with a more game-realistic tsunami (i.e., not a massive 500 meter high wall of water, but one ones that are more likely to spawn in game that are about the height of medium density buildings). You might be more surprised by the results, since buildings _clearly_ have an effect on water.

Your comment in earlier with buildings in flood and protection testing? It is actually a major field of study, particularly in US. The famous US plantation style homes? Designed for flooding. Very little on first floor and water can pass through, with second floor being where you live. Even smaller homes with this design. Other countries also have own designs. Funny thing, buildings are designed to allow water flow in these flood designs to reduce stress on the structure. Having buildings keep standing so people who cannot get to high ground can stay safe.

at the end of this video, RCE said tsunami aren't a danger against big city, thats not actually the case, the water pressure caused by the wave on the buildings would make them collapse. not talking about the other debris the wave take with them. Welp that is what it will happen to buildings made like in new york. But coastal city like tokyo are usually made stronger.

Still want you to try a split river against a tsunami, build a cliff face in the way of the tsunami 1st, then create 2 openings at either end, create a hill from the middle to those ends with the height as low as possible (needed to catch end tsunami pieces later), behind the split river build another cliff face with an opening in the middle, build hills going down to the 1st 2 from the ends behind the 1st 2 openings, if all goes as expected then the tsunami will be 80% caught in the 1st 2 rivers & the other 20% caught in the 2nd 2 rivers, to give it a bit more danger build the city directly behind the 2nd cliff face so that if it fails it definitely damages/destroys the city
