Thank you guys for the videos. I have moved to Saint Paul Minnesota in the last two years and miss the mountains. My daughter has cancer and we moved to help her with the kids. We are from the mountains in northern New Mexico. I am a woods man, I used to log for conservation of the desert mountains. Now I work in a wood shop that does sound ply and wood mill work. Here there is no mountains and really no where to get away from people. I love to watch these videos. Cause you just do the job and live good. Thanks again

You actually showed the timber Mark on the end of the log that’s so cool. It makes a very neat sound when he hit the log with the stamp hammer. DZ5003
@CoolLifeIsWonderful4 ай бұрын
Yes,he wanted me to try to stamp but I was always in a rush to go back to the truck I can’t take to stay outdoor in more than ten minutes when it is so freezy cold.😩

There was a quote somewhere that said" It was the best of times it was the worst of times" that is life as a log truck driver. I am in the southeastern USA where it never snows but we have mud, sand, dust etc... I drove for a few years and I have been stuck in mud and sand been pulled into and out of landings and everything in between. Much respect to you my friend. I couldn't imagine a day in your frozen woods and mountains. Don't think I could do it...

I started out cutting pulp wood in the UP of MI. Back in the cedar swamps and built roads with pine bows. Didn’t have to deal with mountains. Would sure rather be hauling in the winter than spring. That’s a lot of terrain to cover. Great work.

I’m truck driver myself. But I never worked so hard like this people. Just so many things to do. Cheins on and off. Dangerous road. Hooks and a hooks trailer. Lifting and chaining it. Sooo many things have to be done.

Is it not possible to widen out the banks to get more space. And then smash the banks together when you are finished?

No,it’s not possible coz the road is only for single vehicle wide.

Why don’t you load your trailer at night many get out of the yard a little early
@CoolLifeIsWonderful4 ай бұрын
Timeline starts at 3am or 2am up to 13hrs only but it is actually 15hrs driving from home going to the loading area and the remaining hour for going back home.

1:20:30 If you could get a truck wash and dry before the scales, you might be under weight. Water weighs 8 lbs per gallon. Ice is heavy stuff.

The driver should have a jacket going down on his but, covering his lower part of the back. Special when he is putting on chains. It is smart to think that you are getting older.
