Looking for beginner tips on how to launch a fishing boat by yourself? Here are a few tips from Realistic Fishing. In todays video I go over the steps I take to prepare and launch my boat. Starting with the drain plug and talking my way through the launch, I hope these tips help your boat launch go more smoothly. Not only do I explain the launch, I also go over how I trailer the boat at the end of the trip. The approach, and trailer position are just a couple of the things I talk about. If a beginner boat fishermen like me can launch a boat by myself, so can you.

Good video, that’s pretty much how I do it as well. Sometimes I’ll attach a long rope to the boat and truck then back up until the boat floats. Then grab the rope from the truck and pull the boat to the dock and tie off. The docks are a little closer on the lakes up here though.

With my last trailered boat, I took a two-week vacation and fished spots all the way from Long Island to the Florida's Gulf Coast and back. Set up my boat batteries so that they could easily be connected to my truck's electrical system and my batteries were always fully charged ⚡ by the time I got from one spot to another. 😉🤗

It's easy to go to an auto parts store and get a battery connector so you can plug and unplug the battery without having to remove the wires from the terminals. 😉 I find using a boat regularly make sure you constantly think of new ways to modify things show that anything you do on the boat becomes easier.

You have a fantastic place to launch. Great video how to launch in perfect conditions. There are lots of tricks on how to launch it places where you don't have a ramp or good ramp and there is no dock. Hope you get to show them someday. It can be a pain but bass are often where it's hard to launch a boat. Had a boat like yours for years I could tell you some horror stories. Noticed there were a lot of hints [a couple of them mine]. I'm glad you didn't put all that stuff in your video. Too much stuff in an instructional video defeats the learning purpose by confusing the main issues. Great teaching technique! Never do like the comments that say you should. Never do that in my comments. You SHOULD do what works best for you. 😉 Hints are just ideas you might consider.

I just got a Sea Nymph TX-150. It is decked out with electronics and a 70 pound thrust trolling motor. I usually fish a shallow river with shallow ramps with no dock. My trailer does not have guide bunks and trailering is a real pain. I also do not have a truck, but a SUV. You have yours set up pretty good.

Another hint from someone who has found out the hard way. Make sure that all the spools on your reels are locked, if you're going to leave your rods on the boat. It's a real mess, if the wind catches your line and you get a giant loop of monofilament slapping down the side of the boat and along the road.

I loved this vid. What's more realistic than prepping the boat and launching it? I wouldn't even mind if you did a video of scouting potential future spots you plan to hit up. This video was a good way to keep the channel feeling fresh. Fishing is great, don't get me wrong, but every now and then it's also nice to have a change of pace and this one did a good job. Only suggestion I would add is start the motor before loosening the trailer line. I've seen too many boats that wouldn't start floating away from their trailers. Fouled plugs, bad gas, loose wire, etc. Good common sense tips! Well done! Always be ready to launch before you block the ramp.

Another hint. If you're moving from one lake to another, make sure to drain your live well and anything else that holds water to be sure you're not moving a foreign species into the new lake. That also goes for any weeds that maybe I hung up on your boat or trailer.
@lisatwitchell403

We really need to be careful about introducing invasive species from one body of water to another. That has caused serious problems in some lakes. It is a real problem with invasive weeds.
