All we hear now is how great the economy is, everything is turning around, there will be a soft landing, no more recession coming, no more housing crash, GDP is up, jobs are strong, blah, blah, blah... But all this so called "data" is not reflected in the real lives of everyday Americans. Here's why.

I have all my money from the pandemic!!! yes it's 100% true. Hold on to what I have. I know our car / truck insurance went up . All Insurance prices went up on everyone!!! I keep tracked of our monthly bills all the time, to figure ways to save money . Never know when you might need it . Homes where you are walking by , they all live to close to each other . People needs to save money, because they never know what might arrive in the mailbox!!!! I made sure our two adult kids didn't have student loans, I paid their classes one semester at a time, back in the day ( again saved money ) .

I truly feel bad for the future generations for sure. I just retired and was blessed enough to have been able to contribute to a 401k in my later years of employment - but even with that it was anything but easy. I've NEVER been a high earner - steadily mid level - but was lucky enough to have had parents who instilled the value of a dollar and even if I had to cut back on a lot of things, I always saved when I could. Even these days, people making 40 thousand would have a very tough time with this administration in charge and causing this mess. VERY bad situation.

This leads to increases in medical costs (exhaustion and stress) and burnout. This is how they let the mask slip and roll in full-on communism/socialism - they push people to the breaking point until they tap out, blame capitalism for all of the socialist crap they did, then reset the currency and put everyone on welfare (UBI) administrated via CBDCs. People never learn that all centralized gov't is tyranny - we are either responsible for ourselves, or we delegate that to others and become their slaves eventually.

@@escapedfromnewyork The saying that the government flooded the market with money is half true. Trump spent 8 trillion dollars in 4 years while Biden is close to 4 trillion dollars. 12 trillion dollars in just 7 years seems to be the culprit but thats not really the full picture. Government is like 25% responsible for the inflation. The rest was from Covid which stopped the world productions and led to lower supply which led to shortages. Chips also contributed greatly to inflation as well. Along with the war in Ukraine which sent the gas prices high when the war forced the Eastern side of Europe to stop their oil production which contributes to the supply problems which again contributes to the inflation. The whole world was suffering through the inflation.

Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future. Putting our time and effort in activities and investments that will yield a profitable return in the future is what we should be aiming for. Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. "You're not going to remember those expensive shoes you bought ten years ago, but you will remember every single morning when you look at your bank account that extra 0 in there. I promise, that's going to be way more fun to look at everyday", I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life too 🙏🙏🙏

Seeing the stratification of ‘class’ with real world human suffering on the sidewalk in front of luxury homes, or in front of Disney, was hard to comprehend. SORRY, it's our fault, Baby Boomers that is. It is our generation that has made it impossible for young people to afford a home within their own right. Young people are just like us, they want to proudly buy their own home, but without Mum and Dad Bank or some other help, they are unlikely to do so. And, obviously institutional buyers make it even worse. According to my sums, when my wife and I bought properties, it was about 2.5 times my fairly good income. Now it's at least 6 times. It was tough back then, it is nigh on impossible now.

You’re right but there’s still a lot of ways to get extra cash. People in my area do market research, taste tests, and paid surveys for cash or gift cards. Some people do clinical trials for money or sell their plasma and platelets at a blood bank ($800/first month) which helps pharmaceutical companies make medicines for cancer patients. My friends were pole sitters and judges of election for the election commission in our county and got paid $275 for the day. (You have to do an online training class for that). And a lot of people are selling their stuff so a lot of good deals are out there. One year I bought everything in the Summer for the holidays and saved a lot of money. If people are desperate, churches and social service agencies offer food pantries, gas cards, professional clothes for job seekers, clothes for children, diapers and personal hygiene products, etc. They also sometimes provide used cars or do free repair work for people to get to work. They also provide bus passes for those who qualify and some provide copays for medical prescriptions. The county website has information on how to apply for one month of rent or mortgage payments to prevent eviction or foreclosure. Some churches also offer one month of rent or mortgage payments depending on the family situation. They also sometimes provide household furniture and items for families starting out in life with no family support. There are shelters in my area that let people stay for 6 months, help them get jobs, and let them keep all their earnings to get a deposit for an apartment. If they need job training or transportation, the shelter helps them get it.

I'm currently 20 years old, I graduated during Covid and haven't been able to get on my feet since. I'm currently in a homeless shelter and have been couch surfing for the past 3 years. While Mental Health has been a big factor in this, being able to get the help needed while being able to find ways to support myself has been struggle. Long waitlists for psychiatric care and a intense cost of living increase has made being able to support myself without severe amounts of government help impossible. If I was able to work 2 jobs and get on my feet I would, but last time I did that I almost went into the hospital. I've given up on the idea of owning a car (I live in a rural area so its a needed thing, plus it gets COLD) which is fine because I do enjoy biking and walking. Its just frustrating, especially when I hear older generations talk about how they had an apartment to themselves when they moved out. My own Mother who makes close to 6-figures had to pick up a second job (I wont say where of course but its a major west coast city). Me and my sisters have always started working as soon as we can, I even helped my Mom with some bills when I lived with her and we were STILL paycheck to paycheck. The companies and investors know to buy up all the starter entry level homes trapping them where they will never buy and create a lifetime income source. Look at the new housing starts, the build to rent is a huge part of those builds. I say this as a homeowner, landlord and investor. It's over, buy now while you can. Low property taxes isn't always a good thing. California has approx 1.0 to 1.2% depending on location, and also property tax assessment caps (i.e. your property assessment can't grow more than 2% per year). What ends up happening is that it discourages people from moving and creates extra artificial scarcity in certain areas, because older people don't want to move and suddenly have to pay more property tax. Thus, older retirees are close to heavy business areas that young people want to be. Young people are buying in newer areas and end up commuting 1 to 2 hours to work every day (one way... round trip would be like 2-3 hrs).

@@davidhopper7295 I don't trust gov't. However, life is about trade-offs. Often times you're picking between high property taxes or high income taxes. For example, California has high income taxes, but low property taxes. Texas has the reverse with no state income taxes, but high property taxes. This means that house prices are generally much lower. Older people who have retired and don't have high income don't get as much advantage from the no state income but are punished for high property taxes so they generally move away from busy business districts. In California, it's the reverse. This is a tradeoff. What do you think benefits younger people more? Obviously, the lower commutes. I don't work for gov't. I just have a brain and realize that nothing in life is perfect. You can simultaneously be skeptical of the gov't and work with what you have currently. When the housing market was hot the Realtors, mortgage brokers, insurance agents, property inspectors, property appraisers, fumigators, plumbers, locksmiths, landscapers, handymen, painters, electricians, roofers, and small contractors were all making money. I'm sure you could add a lot more to this list. I had to call a plumber out to the house last week because a shower valve failed and was spewing water. While he was here I had him do some other work. I asked him how business was going and he told me the housing market was destroying him. He had just bought a new work van before everything slowed down and he was paying $700 a month for it. He said the phone wasn't ringing unless it was an emergency like mine. I know a locksmith who got out of the business for the same reason. His bread-and-butter was changing the locks after new purchases for residential and commercial buildings. When you think of all the people that are barely making ends meet now, of course they are cutting back on their spending which will affect other people's income too.

Our household is in the top 5% of earners and we are getting priced out of the market in Michigan. Cash buyers are all home sellers want to work with, home improvements are running $300.00 sq. ft and even up to $500.00 sq. ft. and it's almost impossible to buy land to have a new home built (which is also incredibly expensive). I don't complain to friends and family because so many have it worse than me. But this can't be sustainable.

Let’s point to which White House policies have led directly to our price increases. 1. Sanction on Russia, a major supplier of oil, natural gas, lumber, wheat, fertilizer, gold, rubber and many other things. The west decided to stop buying these things from Russia and so the prices of ALL of these items are much higher as a result. Russia’s economy is doing fine and the west is seeing massive inflation as a result of this idiotic policy. 2. War in Ukraine, as I’m sure you know, all wars lead to increased costs of all energy products. Oil is still higher then it was pre pandemic at as is Natural Gas. Biden could end the Ukrainian war in less then 12 hours if he wanted to. 3. Remember those tariffs Trump put into effect against China? The 25% tariff on all Chinese imports, plus the 60% tariff on all aluminum and 20% tariff on steel that is imported into the US that Trump enacted? Biden has continued all of those tariffs. That is literally a 25%+ price increase on nearly everything sold in stores in the US. Think about this when blaming Biden for our current problems. Nearly all of our inflation is White House policy.

@strawdemindset 11 ай бұрын
@@barnabusdoyle4930 1. The US doesn't buy all these products from Russia and the Russian economy is NOT doing "fine". The West should've had multiple producers of these products years ago but they let some of their economies get way to entrenched to the whim of Putin. 2. The US policy on standing with Ukraine comes from the 1994 Budapest Memorandum. The US cannot be seen to be a unreliable partner who doesn't back its word. Trump weakened this by threathening allies and even leaving some like the Kurds for dead. 3. The Trump tariffs are still in place, they are a net negative but it allows for U.S manufacturers along with those of our allies to fill the gap and to catchup. Reversing this policy would reduce inflation but would made the trade deficit even larger. 4. Forgot about the money printing? Trump printed trillions and Biden printed less during the pandemic but which administration has been the first and only one in the last 20 years to actually reduce the fed's balance sheet? This shouldve happened back in 2018 but Trump threathened the head of the FED and continued the circus show. This administration was dealt a bad hand and has fumbled the bag on a couple economical issues but overall they arn't doing bad. Biden should be coming in as the president who has added the least to the national debt in over a decade with solid jobs numbers and record unemployment during his term. And I still tell you that international buyers have plenty of money. That is who has that kind of cash.

100%. There are many Mexican investors who have money in Califas, Tejas and Arizona. You will see their foreign plates all the time in the Southwest.

In Michigan all the Muslims are buying up everything everywhere they can. CASH. They do not believe in usury or our banks. They only borrow from each other. So they must have some DEEP pockets somewhere!! The people who moved in next-door to me a little over a year ago paid a pretty good price for that house and when I looked up on city records it’s under land contract but they all have the same first name (Mohammed), it gets confusing. But they are a relatively younger couple with 3 small children and she stays home and he goes to work but I don’t even see where the cars leave the driveway every day and he is no brain surgeon lol, can barely figure out how to take care of the yard. Stuff definitely doesn’t add up where they get all the money. They have bought up so much property in the suburbs of Metro Detroit. All Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Muslim, Arab, etc.

Up here in Canada our entire market is bought out by foreigners. Our demographics are overwhelmed too.
