Leave No Trace - I totally agree. However it's a pity the fire at 09:45 destroyed the grass and killed any insects, worms etc that would have been directly beneath it. Why not build the fire upon a layer of flatter rocks that would protect the living matter and could also provide warm rocks that could be used to dry out kit, warm the body etc ?

Becky, regardless of what you are doing, either solo or with a companion, it's YOU doing it that is the main draw, your enthusiasm, joy and presentation are without a doubt part of that. I am glad to be able to follow all of your life on one channel. May you be able to continue to live your chosen life style for many years to come.

I was just thinking watching you making a fire, and this is just a suggestion, to reduce the impact on the grass where you made the fire, why not find a few bits of slate and keep them in your van and when you want to make a fire, make your fire on the slates? If you have say 3 or 4 pieces max they would be very heavy… just an idea

What a lovely vlog. There is a freedom, I feel when I'm in my van that just isnt there at other times. The sense of being able to go wherever you want. You really capture that. And Scotland is heaven for anyone who loves the wild places. Every time I cross the border back at Gretna I feel a longing to return.

I've been loving outdoor life since the end of 2020, throughout 2021 I spent many days or would say even weeks at Surrey Hills, and then was driving my weird Peugeot 307 SW, it had lovely huge sunroof, so was "car" camping and then wild camping, the car got a bit damaged and was told to get through MOT i would have to pay £1300 to fix few things... Before getting rid of it, I was driving to Wales and Scotland, spent there 2 weeks, wild camping and some camping at my friend's place. I decided then to get Land Rover Freelander this year. Was driving very well, until something happened that almost killed me, I do not know the details, but I know I had first 90% of dying and once I was flew to Hospital it went to 50% chance of dying and if not dying I would most likely by disabled in some way... Looks like miraculous things are happening, and not only I survived but my brain was completely healed, my skull and one of the eyes fixed, and I am slowly getting better. Few more weeks and I hope I will be back to life and hoping to do some wild camping, this year was planning to wild camp a lot and this unfortunate things happened. Buying a van is my dream now, to either sleep in it or drive and go for a wild camping. Love spending time outdoor, and thinking years ago I was an indoor person.

Although material things are important, you have to be honest and say that having money gives you choice. You simply cannot exist in our society to a tolerable level without money. Money gives you options . So my point is this. True Homelessness is the only option, and rarely a matter of choice .

Interesting hearing your thoughts at the beginning. I wonder is it because of the rise of social media and being connected that we are all being inspired by others experiences or is there some sort of great awakening where suddenly starting to become aware that there is something bigger than us all and like you say, life is very short ? I can only share from my 57 years on this planet that I have always been from my earliest days interested in things spiritual. My dad who was born in 1926 was really interested also so maybe that’s were I get my thinking from. He was always reading books (from the library lol) on things like UFOs, ghosts, spaceship moon / hollow earth, life after death etc… but then that era was like the swinging 60s and everyone was talking about things like free love 😂😂 and stuff like that … so folk were starting to wake up… you might have heard of songs like ‘The age of Aquarius’ by 5th dimension … if you haven’t heard it… it’s on KZfaq and sort of, well 60s 😂😂😂 … I wonder if people say, born in the 1800s we’re thinking about stuff like this but then common folk lived in such different conditions and maybe were more conditioned and didn’t think much out of the box because of strict religion …. Please excuse my rambling … lol… thanks for your video and here’s to you and your man and a happy life xx

While in Scotland, you should reach out to the Game Masters and inquire about a Red Stag Hunt. Its the final step to being truly one with nature and the Hunting community in the UK has shrunk substantially and the Ghillie tradition may soon vanish. Not to mention the super high quality of Venison meat. Maybe someone like you can show young people that hunting is perfectly natural.

Ah... Morar. A fine place and MacDonald country... or it was once. If it's solitude you crave, then you'll need to get yourself a bit further north to Knoydart - Scotland's last wilderness. There are no roads in, so it's either a 16-mile tab in on foot from the east or a boat in from the seaward side. The van would have to stay at home. It's MacDonald country again, although it subsequently came into the hands of an English toff (Lord Brocket) who was a Nazi (both figuratively and quite literally). Only one place that could be described as a village (Inverie) and three or four tiny hamlets in an area covering thousands of acres. Lochs, sea lochs, Munros, Corbetts, all the wild life you can shake a stick at and as much solitude as would fill a very large bucket. It's getting on in the year now for Knoydart, maybe. I think you'd like it.

Love your videos and your journey ❤️ The only thing I’d say is your video has given the impression you’ve pulled precious lichens off the trees to use as natural tinder. @@GirlOutdoors lichens are very slow growing and take years. This lichen grows 3 to 5 mm each year, meaning that what can be harvested in a couple of seconds may have taken a decade to form! Your logic is like cutting a branch off a tree and saying it will grow back. Its more responsible to harvest it from windfallen branches on the floor. Some people watching this may think pulling lichens off trees is ok and may well pull off some very rare ones - this is what happened in the ancient copses up on Dartmoor and are now completely closed for camping. You have a very large following and are therefore an 'influencer'. This is absolutely not 'leave no trace'.
