My mother passed away 2 months ago - I'm in my last year of high school and have been struggling to catch up with the work that I've missed.. I love listening to these worship melodies as I work, especially because my mom and I loved singing these songs together. She was the loveliest singer and a more than lovely person. I'm beyond blessed to have even had her as a mother and best friend for these past 18 years. She was more than just my mother, she was also a mother to countless other kids who struggled and had tough upbringings, and she was more than just my friend, she was a friend to everyone she had ever met. Never have I seen a person give her life to serve the way she did... she didn't live for herself, but for others.. and to me, she is everything I aspire to be. My only hope is that I can be the type of person she was and still is: the true definition of beauty.

I was just reading John 6. I really needed this. So many times we want to be able to "do" something to please God. But all He wants us to "do" is "Believe." It will free us from worry and reasoning. Our youth did this for Easter and our whole church was crying, everybody has a piece in their heart that is broken, but Jesus will always be there.
