@@Havis_Princess most people only marry in the church because it’s a nice building and it makes nice pictures - without caring about the sacraments. If you only go to church once a year on Christmas (if so) you don’t need to marry in one in my opinion… you wouldn’t marry in a mosque/ Buddhist temple just because it is a nice building would you?

weddings now are just for the bride. It doesn't matter what the groom wants anymore so the bride is expected to (and wants and almost demands to) do it all without the input of the groom. He is seen as a fox in the hen house.

@@Andrea-lk6qq Maybe in your country, in Denmark we are much more relaxed. Marriage is for the groom and bride, you get married because of love. In the US and in England, it means more to most people to spend a lot of money, have many bridesmaids and love is less important😔.

This whole show prompts the brides to talk about what she would do or suggest on all these details if she was able to help plan the wedding. they don't prompt them to say what compromises they would make for their grooms, while the grooms are actually planning the wedding and it IS up to them to consider both themselves and their brides. Comparing what the brides and grooms do on this show isn't apples to apples. I'm engaged and planning my wedding currently and if someone asked me what my dream venue was, I'd mention one I fell in love with before I showed my fiancé to get his opinion on it (He did like it a lot but it was sadly booked solid). And he's talked about a venue that he'd love but I wasn't too thrilled about. It's ok that couples have ideas for the wedding that don't match up; normally they are able to discuss it and figure things out. Fiancé and I worked together to find one we both loved, and it's one that I would have never looked at if it had been just me searching.

It's an L Plate like you see on cars driven by Learner Drivers. Not every Hen Party features this so I don't know 100% but I think the joke is that the bride-to-be is "learning" how to be a "proper" wife.

in the catholic church, a catholic can marry a non-catholic. only one spouse needs to be a baptized catholic in order for the marriage to be recognized by the church as a sacrament. the church also won't refuse to marry you if you have a child out of wedlock--having a child doesn't affect the sacrament. if anything, the church thinks its great that they decided to get married and bring their daughter up in the faith.

It was paid for by production, wouldn't have been very interesting to film her thoughts on her sofa. They often send the brides to exotic places to film their thoughts, it makes for an interesting show.
