This video took a while to make because i had to re-edit it a bunch of times and also because when looking for clips i kept rewatching entire episodes because i like the show too much.
Songs used are :
"Ominous" and "Imigation" from the Nisemonogatari OST
"Warui Jodan" from the Koimonogatari OST
"Suteki Meppou" and "Sainchuu" from the Bakemonogatari OST

The reason for helping isnt too convoluted, actually. Spoilers ahead: It is mentioned in the series that he was in love with Gaen Tooe (kanbaru's mom) So in a way he deceived himself with a half truth

Tony Phan-Nguyen He wanted to help her to begin with because deep down he is a good guy, but he didn't want his reason to be about her, so he thought of one he could be satisfied with

@@shaunmhlanga so what you're saying is, that his reason to help Senjogahara is because of his crush on Gaen. But there's no relation between Senjogahara and Gaen, other than her daughter being in love with Senjogahara

@@Unabuu That's already plenty enough reason. Because Kanbaru is Gaen's daughter, Kaiki is willing to help. Think of it this way: Kaiki still loved Gaen. Gaen has a daughter. Thus Kaiki will in some way care about the well being of the daughter. Kanbaru is connected to Senjougahara. Kanbaru cares about Senjougahara. If Kaiki doesn't save Senjougahara, he will inadvertently cause Kanbaru (Gaen's daughter) pain by Senjougahara's death. Kaiki does not want his crush's daughter to be hurt by Senjouhara's death, thus he reasons that he must save her. That's how he deceives himself anyway. Deep down he just wants to help Senjougahara, but cant admit that because he's Tsundere AF. Hope that clears everything

@@shaunmhlanga He is not aware of the relationship between Kanbaru and Araragi and neither between her and Senjougahara. He said to himself, that it would not be too far fetched to think that they know each other. So his entire logic for taking the case is that Kanbaru might know Araragi and his girlfriend. That is the same thing like helping your neighbor move because they share the last name with a friend of you and so they might be related.

Probably yes because everyone still tell the old lie that anomalies (Kai) exists, while this is not true, and we get to know this in one of those messages that appears on screen in, if I remember well, Nekomonogatari Kuro. Kaiki is the only one who actually tells that he doesn’t believe they exists. Plus we are told, at the start of this story, to not believe his words because not everything we are told is actually how things went, which actually hints to what I’ve said above, that is, that anomalies doesn’t exists. So he’s is actually the most honest of all the characters because he recognizes the non-existence of the anomalies despite being fake in narrating the story for the sake of the coherence of it. In fact, he is like what is said at the end of Nisemonogatari “fake, but more true than the real true people”

If you want to get into Monogatari (this anime) I recommend light novel order. Assuming you haven't already! Bake > Kizu > Nise > Neko Kuro > Neko Shiro (from Monogatari Second Season) > Kabuki (Second Season) > Hana > Otori (Second Season) > Oni (second season) > Koi (second season) > Tsuki > Koyomi > Owari > Owari S2 > Zoku Owari

Josua D im American but I thought his accent was completely comprehensible. It’s possible you haven’t had much experience hearing different accents in your life which can make it more difficult to understand them. There’s certainly some dialects I need to hear a bit slower to understand (Scottish comes to mind).
