I use them on smaller knives for my pinky to have something to grab onto as well as reflective/bright colored paracord on dark or earth toned knives to help find the knife if I drop it.

I love putting a small lanyard on most of my tools I use often, especially my knives. Makes it that much easier to draw the knife from your pocket, helps with grip, and I think they look cool

Lanyards go well on medium sized fixed blades as well because if you need to chop, you can extend your grip by 2 or 3 finger gripping the handle and 1 or 2 on the lanyard. That gives you more chopping power.

I just recently bought and am evaluating lanyards/fobs on my folding knives - beginning with a Benchmade Bugout, trying to see whether there’s a practical use or more decorative. I just discovered your video on lanyards by checking your list of videos on KZfaq. Good work, Erica!

You’ve got a ton of lanyards and beads! I don’t use them on my work knives (appliance repair) but I might give it a shot sometime. I actually like the flashlight + small knife combo on a biner idea! I think that’s a super cool idea.

It's really handy, I find that a small one never gets in the way, and helps getting a grip on it to pull it out of your pocket. Not really necessary, but I find there's more pros than cons

Personally, I make leather sheaths for every folding knife I buy. And I put a lanyard on every one of those knives. It makes it easier to pull the knife out. Anti-lanyard people don't make sense to me.

I live in a not so good neighborhood. My knives all have 5 inch loop stretch cord lanyards and I'll. I was checking my mail late one night . In my pocket was cold steel twi-lite.

I was jumped by a guy coming up behind me out of the night . He was carrying a really large claw hammer and out of his mind . Told me to come with him or he would kill me. I pushed him back and while pulling the ti- lite out , with the cross guard catching my pants pocket and opening the blade he grabbed me and we both went down on the street asphalt. The back of my knife hand hit the roadway and my hand popped open loosing my knife. I rolled over (mail going all over) and stood up to see him picking up MY KNIFE ! Oh crap ! I stepped back and pulled a small 600 lumen flashlight and shined it in his eyes. He screamed he was going to kill me again and then chucked the hammer at me and took off. It missed just flying over my head. Called the cops and they got him. I was praying he didn't use my knife on them or anybody else. Moral : use a lanyard to keep your knife in your hand and not drop it on your leg or foot or fly out. Wasn't using a lanyard then but next day l was. I'm glad I didn't stab him as I wasn't hurt. They got the knife back and used it as evidence on him . He got 2 months jail and 4 months house arrest with ankle monitor. God was look out for both of us I guess! If you carry a knife for self defense , have a lanyard on it, a long looped one you can shove thumb thru and wrap over the back of your hand. Might save you and your pants !

I just grabbed a Tactile Turn pen (Made in Texas) Cool stuff! I use lanyards on all my smaller knives for a better purchase as well!🤙🏼

Good pen; i work retail and i love the short bolt action. The regular one is a little thicker but i also go bigger hands (i’m 6’4ish) so it works for me. Good pen.

Hi I am one of your followers and I know you’re bench made 940 is probably your your favorite EDC knife and you tried the smaller size the 945 but I was wondering if you were going to try the 940 auto it’s exact same as the 940 the same materials and let us know what you think thanks Gary

I use lanyards on nearly all my knives. Just decoration for me at first. But as I get older they help with sore hands with a little arthritis coming in.

I don't use lanyards at all anymore years ago I had a very good knife in my pocket and lanyard was hanging out of my pocket and while hog hunting in Florida it got hung on brush and I lost a knife

I just got the benchmade taggedput. It is freaking best knife I own and took over my edc para 2 and to do that is saying something I love my spydy para 2 but the taggedout is best amd prefect edc . I'll still carry my para 2 and my bugout but the tag will be my main edc now
