Rules to match your watch with your outfit?
Sounds a little too much?
Imagine a man in a tuxedo at a black-tie event.
He has poise, style and a posture that grabs everyone's attention.
He casually turns his wrist to check the time... a Casio calculator wristwatch with a rubber strap...
FAIL!!
This is the power of a wristwatch, gentlemen - it can either break or build an outfit!
Since men wear limited jewelry, a watch is an expression of their personality. The best wristwatches are simple, versatile, sophisticated and classic.
Most men prefer to own more than one watch so they can wear the appropriate timepiece to complement their outfit.

+Real Men Real Style I believe from most to least formal: 1) Black band, silver metal, white face 2) Brown band, silver metal, white face 3) Black band, black metal, black face 4) Grey band, black metal, black face... I based my judgements specifically on (in my opinion) the white face being more formal than the black face. Followed by the silver metal to be more classic and formal than the black metal... A bit contrary to some of the other youtubers, but my justification is: a navy suit with brown shoes demand the brown band watch. The all black watch seems more of a fashion statement than a classic staple.

1. Black Band, white face would be the most formal. It would work very well in a black tie event, not only because its leather would compliment the shoes and match the color pallet of the suit but it would also be very subtle and under spoken, something which is crucial of a timepiece to be able to do in a black tie event as it is not considered polite to be checking the time at one. The Silver could also match cufflinks. 2. Brown, Silver would be able to fill semi-formal to work formal (not black tie). It has a nice leather which if used well could compliment brown shoes, the white face gives with silver gives it a nice clean cut look to it. The silver also makes it easy to match with Cufflinks and a Tie clip, it also makes it very easy to match with other metals (eg Lighters, pens, glasses) This watch could compliment both a formal work suit or a sports jacket. 3. Black Face, Black leather would be for me anyway a backup watch that could suit anything from a casual dress code to a formal work code. Due to it's color scheme it's very versatile, and doesnt draw any attention at all. This would not be my first choice as it would be very difficult to match that with other metals (eg Cufflinks, Tie clip, Lighter). 4. Black Face with blue is a bit of a wild card. I could see that been worn with a light colored sports jacket but nothing more formal than that, but on the flip side it is also very fashion forward. If one was wearing blue suede shoes (no pun intended) this would go brilliant with it, or if someone was wearing a lovely baby blue tie this would go well with that. Even a blue flower on a suit would match that. 5. The most versatile watches, or the watch which I know I'd use most would the new york brown and bronze (tribecca I believe its called) It has a nice old style look which, is capable of being matched with semi-formal to formal. It has a lovely colour scheme to it, the only problem with it is that I have no metals to match it. But I can see myself buying metals to match it. The Brown and Silver watch matches the Tribecca with versatility and is my preference.

Hi Antonio, loving the channel. Here is my ranking of formality ; 1. Silver body, white face, black strap 2. Black body, black face, black strap 3. Silver body, white face, brown strap - 4. Black body, black face, grey strap - I believe the all black watch is the most versatile and would be acceptable with any outfit as black never goes is never out of fashion. I generally like your videos, but when you have a sponsor like you do here for a watch that has almost no redeeming value it really it seriously compromises your integrity in my opinion. I am a watch guy and have 2 dozen watches in all the categories that you mentioned and I agree with your guidance. I just think that the sponsors watches all look like cheap $20 quartz Timex watches. For what it is worth the most versatile of the ones you showed would likely be the silver bezel, white face and black leather band. It goes with everything.
@yomama8212

i wouldn't really say that having a sponsor changes anything, all it basically do is that he makes use of the sponsor as an example. Plus Antonio himself mentioned that it was sponsored.

I don't agree. The watches shown are quite fashionable and look alright. Personally I have a Breitling and a couple of Tissots, but I paid more for them. If I didn't care as much about watches, I would have no problem with the sponsored watches.

Nothing wrong with inexpensive watches. In many ways anyone who spends more than $199 on a watch should have their head examined. This coming from the guy with the $150,000 collection that I mostly liquidated since I never wore most of them. Rather have the cash.

Disagree. The main content of the video is matching the watch type with your clothing. Do note that he even uses non-sponsored watches when showing examples of each watch category of watches so he's not desperately pushing his sponsored brand as you have mentioned. I personally think the sponsored watches are nice and decent looking. Whether it's worth it is up to the buyer but this video is in no way a compromise to his integrity.

Hi Antonio, From my perspective the most formal would be the first watch -the black strap. Then the next formal would be the second watch with the brown strap. The next formal would be the all black watch. And the least formal would be the one with the gray strap. I see a really formal watch as one with a black strap - kind of like when you go in to an interview, you wear black shoes, rarely brown ones. The all black, is more of a sporty look in my opinion and the gray suede is more of a casual dress down look but to be honest, it looks the best out of all of them. I think it has a flair to it that isn't overstepping boundaries but looks unique. I haven't commented much but I've been a subscriber for a while. Love your content and as a college kid going into finance, you have really helped. Keep doing what you do!

+Real Men Real Style How come this one didn't show up in my subscription feed? :( Anyway, in the order of formality: 1. Black Leather with white face - Contemporary and classic. Stitched black leather and polished silver bezel adds a lot of sophistication to the watch. However, this piece isn't quite versatile. Good with formals only. 2. Brown Leather with white face - Brown is the new black, specially in the case of accessories! It adds that needed pop in an outfit. Subtle but an important pop! This piece is a perfect conversation starter for it's laid back yet sophisticated attitude. The perfect blend of classic and modern. Simple aesthetics with neutral colour tone makes this the perfect option for everyday use (Formal or Casual). 3. Black Leather with Black Face - All black is always very conservative. This could be the go to watch for people with a stark stylish sense. Could either be dressed up or down easily. 4. Grey Suede Leather with Black face - Suede leather equals casual to me. Be it the shoes, belts, wallets or the watch bands. But on the contrary here, the 'stitched' suede leather strap is adding some formality to the watch. But it's just not enough to call it a dress watch. It would be the perfect field watch for casual to semi-formal settings. Black and grey being neutral colours can work with any shade or colour of shirt, pant or shoes. :) That's my list +Antonio. Cheers!

Let me starting off by saying I really enjoy your videos, Antonio. From formal to least formal/ casual 1. Black silver and white 2. Brown silver and white 3. Grey Black and Black 4. Black Black and Black 5. The minimal collection is more versatile than the classic collection. I chose this order for the following reasons. Firstly, because the black and silver watch was so perfectly simple yet classy, it deserved the number one slot. The brown watch, though still dressy was slightly less so due to the brown leather strap. Contrary to what many think, I believe the grey and black watch is more formal than the all black watch. The suede band is really cool, and I think it has more versatility for a casual outfit than the entirely black one. Lastly, the black belongs at the bottom because it appears to be the most rugged. Since it is entirely black, I think it sticks out a little too much to be ranked at any of the higher levels of formality. Plus, since it is entirely black, stains, scratches, etc. won't be nearly as apparent when worn, so it could potentially be worn for field/ outdoor use. Finally, the bands and faces of the minimal collection at the fifth watches are so beautifully simple that they can be endlessly interchanged. The bands and faces look great. By the way, I'd love one of those watches.

First of all thank you Antonio for making these videos and sharing your knowledge. I've gotten a lot of inspiration from your videos to upgrade my wardrobe and make me more aware of fashion and dressing well. For the 4 watches i would rank them in the following way: 1. Black strap with metal, this is of course a dress watch and that makes it the most formal. 2. Black strap with black, I would rank this watch before the brown strap watch because the strap is black, even though i personally like to wear a similar brown watch with business attire. 3. Brown strap with metal, Works nicely with a lighter suit brown shoes and a matching belt. 4. Grey strap with black, Would work nicely with casual wear. Thank you again Antonio and keep up the good work on your videos! Best regards, Rasmus

Usefull video Antonio! Thank you. From most formal to least formal, my rankins are: 1. Black, Silver metal, white face -> can be matched with all the types of clothing, except sports wear. Casul wear I would say is more or less to be matched with this watch, but it can be pulled of. 2. Brown, silver metal, white face -> can be matched to suits that are more light in color. Business formal, business casual and casual wear as categories. 3. Black band, black metal, black face(all black) -> due to the all black color this watch, in my opinion can be matched with also with a black tie, so it can be worn as like the black and silver metal with white face watch. 4. Grey suede, black metal , black face -> let's say it is more as a smart casual watch , but it cannot be worn with a black/white tie. The most versatile watch for me is the all black one, because at first sight you would not say it can be worn with a black suite, but after a matter of thinking, it can be pullled of.

I've always thought that a white face is the most formal so so my list goes accordingly: Black and white Brown and white Black and black Gray and black My reasoning is that black on white is timeless and is one that just about anyone could pull of with relative ease, for brown and white, it may be a bit harder for people, if only to find an outfit that can compliment it, but if managed properly brings an air of sophistication. I think black leather always holds its formality no matter the face of the watch so I put this as third, it seems to me to be a young mans idea of dressy, it looks nice and is quite bold, it's a watch that can hold its own, lastly is the gray and black, which to me at least is something more fitted for a walk in a park than for a trip to a theatre, it can compliment casual clothing, but I wouldn't even consider putting it on a suit, maybe with a sports jacket in a hot place if I was wearing linen, but only if I hadn't brought anything else, a casual watch.

+Real Men Real Style I took the exact order this man had (1,4,3,2). I will try to put to words as to why. The first watch with white and black matches the tuxedo scheme, black and white/silver. Number four seems okay for bussiness suits in a darker tone. Number three seems bussiness casual, it's an eye-catcher but does look professional. The second watch seems casual with the brown leather bands. This logic basically calls for the first dresscode that comes to mind from seeing the watch alone.

Not sure what his logic is but mine is the same sef of choices. The black silver is the traditional and safe choice that screams "I dont rock the boat". The triple black watch is the most versatile as it can be used for the most business, casual (statement piece), and formal Tux. It is usually seen as being the minimalist (hence elegant) and smartest choice. Of course, you really cant wear triple black to the gym (diver or chrono instead) but I question your choice of a diver watch with a suit. The only people Ive seen making that mistake were ex-military, and both my parents were ex-military.

From most to least formal: 1. Black/silver/white 2. Brown/silver/white 3. Black/black/black 4. Grey/black/black 5. I would say the New York collection is the most versatile because they have 3 watches with black bands ( 1 brown) and silver/gold/black and what looks like a rose gold metal for the pink band watch. I love the gold metal, with the black band, and the black face. Great channel, I"m a watch lover myself, so I found this video very interesting.

Most to least formal 1 - black & silver - most formal for obvious reasons 2 - brown and silver - The Brown color band makes it a close second 3 - black & black - The single color black tone positions it slightly higher than the grey band one. 4 - grey and black - With the two tone color with its black face makes it the most casual among the four. 5.In terms of versatility: I would choose the Brown Silver watch because it is the closest you will get to a formal watch with a ability to be used in casual situations as well. As a first watch it is a fantastic choice.

Love the video as I just purchased my first watch (Tissot Tradition Perpetual Calander) for my 17th! As for the quiz... 1. Most formal: Black band with white face as it seems a little more rounded and gentle (simple?). The band is also thinner continuing that minimalist style. 2. Tanned brown band with white face as still has a slight formality to it through the silver and white. The band is easily worn with a suit and nice brown/tanned leather shoes. 3. The black watch with grey band. This is arguable but because we are ordering the WATCHES not the bands I am inclined to put this next :) The watch's structure is a little more minimalist and sleek. The band is least formal in my opinion so i would exchange that. 4. The black watch with black band. This watch is last as I feel it almost takes on that large sports watch appearance (obviously without the features of sports watch but just in regards to size/shape). The black band however is 3rd most formal. Thanks again! :)

From most to least formal: 1-silver/black 2-silver/brown 3-black/black 4-black/grey Antonio, I think their classic collection is the most versatile. Although similar to the minimalist collection, the classic group do not go for what is current or trendy but rather goes for something classic that won't go out of style and will stand the test of time! Being classic will also allow you versatility not only in terms of time but also formality as you said, changing the band can alter the formality! So the classic collection is most versatile in my opinion! :)

Nice video! Question A - ranking most to least formal: 1 (black-silver), 2 (brown-silver) ,4 (all black) , 3 (grey-black). Reasoning: 1 goes with tuxedo. 2 goes with suit, 4 & 3 go with casual Question B - versatile: the brown-silver gives the most flexibility Reasoning: brown band goes with many colors of clothing. The silver gives it the ability to make it fit to formal wear. The white on the dial makes it possible to wear it with formal as well as casual clothing.

Okey dokey! Here's my essay on the matter. Going most formal to least. 1. The most formal here is clearly the white face, silver metal, black band. The reason for this is it hearkens to black and white tie rules. White tie and black tie are the most formal because they feature little to no colour. The elegance of formal dress comes from the high contrast in the black and white. Patterns and textures are minimal, elegance through simplicity. This watch is consistent with these rules. 2. The second is the white face, silver metal, brown band. In formal business-wear you still want moderate minimalism. That said, when talking about suits splashes of colour and texture are acceptable in the effort of personalising an otherwise uniform outfit. For example; patterned ties, silk or otherwise brightly coloured pocket squares, or interesting pieces of jewelery like rings and cufflinks (or indeed watches) are good ways to subtly add personality to your suit. This watch is slightly more casual than the first with its brown band, but still looks simple and smart. With a medium/dark grey or navy suit it would look very nice, with complimenting shoes of course. 3. This one's trickier. . . I'll go with the all black. Black is a smart colour. It's sober and doesn't draw undue attention. So a watch in all black is one that doesn't stand out either by understated beauty or by bright eye catching design; it's easily the most neutral of them all. It's a casual option for someone relaxing and not drawing attention to themselves. Because of this it wouldn't be appropriate for a business setting, which requires a degree of sophistication. 4. Formality seems to fall on a bit of a bell curve. One the most formal end we have dark colours punctuated with small amounts of high contrast light colours. Now semi formal through to casual-wear has far less contrast using matching colours and shades. A truly informal piece would take the conventions of the formal and simply reverse them. A stark white tuxedo jacket and trousers with a black shirt and white bowtie would absolutely not be seen as formal wear. The watch with the black face, black metal and light grey strap is therefore the least formal. It's the opposite of the most formal. Lighter colours are inherently less dressy. Where the black watch seems unassuming and relaxed, this watch's light band is designed to draw attention. The suede strap also adds to the casual nature. 5. These are all very nice watches, and all adhere pretty closely to the formal idea of minimalism. Even the least formal of the entire collection isn't exactly garish, and I could easily see myself wearing any of them. I believe the most versatile is the white face, silver metal, brown band. As I pointed out above, dark colours with splashes of lighter colours are more formal. The dark brown is dark enough to work with a business suit delicately, but light enough to add that bit of character and class to a less formal outfit. I don't think I could have shoehorned the word "formal" in any more times than I did. That word is now losing all meaning to me!

I love a classy, well made watch. 1) Dress Leather bands Brown / Black - favorites. Nice tip on color coordinating.. (Formal/ Classy) Black-silver 2) Sport watches are nice for mechanics, like myself. Suunto is my current wear. (Least Formal/ everyday wear) Black-black 3) Chronos are cool but tend to have a huge button on the side. (Semi formal / not a fan of metal bands) Brown with white face 4) Square styled watches work for me too. (Gray suede is tricky) Casual

From most to least formal: 1. black-white-bkack 2. black-black-black 3. grey-black-black 4. brown-white-silver I think it's more difficult to pick between the brown and grey because grey can fit in some dressy situation; however, brown can be quite commonly casual for a lot of people. Thanks for all the great contents.

Considering that is a competition watch (because it has plastic bands too), in which situations do you recommend me to use the metal band version? Thanks a lot. Regard from Quito, Ecuador.

Hi Antonio, thanks for replying :)... Main reason is black and white combination always makes it formal... Be it suits like black suit and white shirt...or simply a pair of black trousers and white formal shirt.

1. Black Band/White Face/Silver Metal - Most formal. Classic watch conservative style can be worn formal/informal alike. 2. Black Band/Black Face/Black Metal - I like this black look. To me, I would use with more formal wear rather than a more casual setup. 3. Brown Band/White Face/Silver Metal - Wonderful all-purpose style which work great for more less formal attire. 4. Grey Band/Black Face/Black Metal - Least formal. Suede band lends to a much more laid back look. As far as the Fifth collections, I would prefer the Melbourne Minimal for my wardrobe, which is usually business casual. However, it offers some very nice options for more formal attire. The New York Classic collection would be great for more formal dressers, to be sure.

Antonio I know I'm a little but just correct me if I'm wrong. So the white face, silver case and black leather strap is the most formal. The white face, silver case and brown leather strap comes in second. The black face, black case and black strap watch comes in third. Finally, the black face, black case and Grey suede watch is the least formal and in turn the most casual (even though it's a look that is very unusual and most people won't opt for. However, I appreciation how unique and challenging it is. I also feel like it is an acquired taste and I can rock with that, even though at this juncture it isn't my cup of tea.)

Hey Antonio 1) black strap, white face 2) brown strap, white face 3) black strap, black face 4) grey strap, black face I would say that the brown strap is most versatile as it could be dressed up or down and would work with a greater variety of shoes than the black strap & white face. Unfortunately this is the issue I'm having with a watch I've been looking at recently that has a black strap and no alternative; the "sherlock" watch by Rotary. I like that the 5th watches come with alternative straps, I wasn't aware of that before this video.

Grey Strap with Black Face 5. For the fifth watches: Minimal style: id chose the Brown Strap Black Face with Silver frame watch as being most versitile as you can dress it up with a business suit or dress it down with a blazer and jeans For the Classic style id chose the Brown Strap White Face with Cream frame watch as ot would also look nice with a business casual suit or even a nice sweater or jumper. It would also work well with a casual dress shirt ans chinos. Thanks and keep up the awesome work!

1. Black/silver/white face. It is the most formal. It is simple and tasteful and wouldn't distract from anything you wear to a formal occasion. 2. Brown/silver/white face. This one works for business formal. It fits more in the everyday work attire category, if you work at a place where you wear suits everyday. 3. Black/black/black. I think this one fits in multiple categories. You could dress it up if you were wearing an all black suit with all black accessories. It would fit in well there because it wouldn't distract from the all black formal attire. But this watch could also work for very casual looks. In fact I think that is where you would get the most out of this watch, is in the casual category. It is very simple yet different and when paired with the right outfit would stand out in all the right ways. 4. Grey/black/black. This watch is kind of like the one I put as 3rd because I can see it being part of a business casual wardrobe as well as a casual one.

As the 5TH say, this item is exclusive by availability and not by price. Just got the Rose Gold and Peach for my girlfriend. It looks and feels far more expensive than it actually is. Great Recommendation Antonio. I'll be getting the Broadway Next.

1st- Black strap/ silver metal/ white face. The Strap makes it look the most formal out of the 4 and the silver metal looks more ritzy. 2nd- Brown strap/ silver metal/ white face. I think the silver with white face is the more formal looking design but the coarse strap makes this watch more casual 3rd- Grey strap/ black metal/ black face. The suede strap and silver buckle adds more character than 4th 4th- Black strap/ black metal/ black face. If going to a formal event I'd prefer more of an eye-catching piece.

Most formal: black band - white face. Brown band - white face (i like this combo and should work even with suit and tie, as long as the suit is casual/business casual). Black band - black face (i persoanlly don't like this combo. It makes it really hard to read and i'm not really shure it compliments anything, except a white suit). Most casual: grey band - black face. I would wear this with a grey t-shirt and black jeans. Most versatile: brown band - white face. And probably my favorite of them all. You can pull this off if you have a casual suit/light blue jeans/even with a t-shirt.

From most formal to most casual: 1. Black, silver, white face. 2. Brown, silver, white face. 3. All black. 4. Gray. To me personally, the black/brown leather is very traditional along with a white face which is why I believe they are most formal. The black one being the most formal due to the fact that it can go along with a black tie and tuxedo. Brown leather to me falls a little more casual than formal, which is why it take the second place. As far as the black on black and the gray watch, to me they seem very faddish, although still attractive, but definitely more casual and not as traditional as the brown/black watches with the white face. Thanks for the video, I definitely took in your tips and will be using them from now on. I have a gold Bulova watch with a rubbery strap, my next step will be to upgrade that strap to a leather one so that I can better match it to my business casual outfits.

1st - Black band/white face/silver metal: Simple style with light face and black band can work for even the most formal of black tie events. 2nd - Triple black: Odd choice perhaps, but in my own opinion, I really think the sleek "blacked out" look just seems more impressive and gives off a sort of suave formality. 3rd - Brown band/white face/silver metal: This one is the most versatile of the four in my view because it manages to just touch on almost all dress situations without holding exclusive characteristics to one style over another. 4th - grey band/ black face/ black metal: While the least formal for me, I actually think this would appear to be MORE formal if it were compared to the 2nd or 3rd on a more casual outfit. Truly an interesting one, that's for sure! Most versatile - I would give it to the brown band/white face because it really could work with such a wide variety of attire, the white face can match pretty much anything and the brown band works well because it can be so easy to thrown in brown to match it with so many styles.

1) black band and white face - most formal because its simple and matches with tux! 2) brown band and white face - more on stylish suits such as fun colours so less formal. Being more of a casual guy who don't normally wear blazers, this would look great with shirts and dark jeans. 3) grey band and black face - most informal. It looks more of a fun sport watch like g-shock watches. U can wear it with shorts and t-shirts. 4) black band and black face - it borderlines both formal and casual, making it the most versatile. Its own clothes defines what the watch can be. Its not the most perfect choice but if u had to, it will fit into the scene. Thanks for the videos! Helped a ton for me over the years. Can you make a video about g-shock watches? Sometimes i see people wearing them with suits and then some very casual like shorts and t shirts. I have two colours... Most formal to least formal: 1)Black stripe, white face- most classic design, and the leather is very smooth 2)Brown stripe, white face- good for business casual but for formal wear I would change the stripe 3)Gray stripe, black face- a quite unique combination of colours, it would support casual wear very nicely 4)Black stripe, black face- In my opinion it is the least formal, from distance it looks more like an armlet rather than a watch 5) If I could have two stripes I would choose the Upper East as most versatile, if not than my choice would be the Tribeca

Black leather grey metal: Basically the most understated, black tie; black, simple watch. but also the most versitile because in my opinion, the fact that you could switch the bands around to a more casual strap makes it open to different outfits. Grey suede: I was going to say the Brown leather as the slightly less formal watch, however I think for the fact that the strap is grey and a more neutral, cool color than brown it bumps it up. Brown leather: Lighter colored strap, you could use it in a business casual setting that uses those kinds of lighter colors. This, like the black leather one, is just a versatile since you can change the strap. Black on Black: I believe this is the least formal, black on black is very bold on the wrist and creates a lot of attention rather than just accenting your outfit. Don't get me wrong the watch is great, but it shouldn't be used in a business or business casual setting.

1. Black strap with white face 2. Brown strap with white face 3. Black strap with black face 4. Grey strap with black face Choices 2 and 3 came in close as they are both somewhat in between formal and casual but the brown one has a more formal look to it due to its silver bezel. I feel that the New York Classic collection is slightly more versatile as they're more formal hence it is able to suit most occasions except for doing exercises/outdoor activities.

While in a Tuxedo and your working the event as part staff or event host team or the “designated driver”of course wear a smallish and thin watch on a black strap (I like Satan fabric straps for a tux..but hard to find). If attending as guest or host no wrist watches. Rather a pocket watch with case hidden (the chain can be somewhat exposed) only briefly glanced at out of view if possible.

Great video. You have me re-thinking my perspective on watches. My rankings: 1) Sliver metal, black band, white face (most traditional, simple, and black leather says formal) 2) Silver metal, brown band, white face (still traditional, simple, but not as formal. Great with a light blue shirt) 3) Black metal and face, with black band. (Runs the risk of being seen as trendy rather than fashionable, but still tasteful) 4) Black metal andf ace, with gray band (The color contrast is least traditional, and the most likely to be seen as trendy) I think the silver metal watches are the most versatile. Traditional, simple, and tasteful goes with just about anything. Not to say that I don't like the watches. They all look great. Thanks for posting the video.

1. Black and white, most formal. 2. Brown and white. Business casual which depends on the leather compliment 3. Grey and black, business/casual/sport since the grey matches toward sport shoes 4. Black on black, universal watch that can fit into formal to casual, not sport since it has a more clean look The minimal collection I find is more for the "modern" look of business professional since it has more color range to choose from where the New York collection is more of the classic look with the solid color that match more darker tones, with not much variety in color range.

1. Black band, white face, silver metal watch. This I'd consider to be the most formal as it is a very traditional look that also gives a little versatility in the rigidness of formality to business formal genre. 2. This actually was a tough one for me but in 2nd place I'd have to put the solid black watch. It could be used for all styles given it's simplicity, I'd even say mystery to the overall look of the watch. 3. In the very close 3rd would be the silver band, brown leather, white faced watch. Extremely traditional look, very casual. These types of watches can give great flexibility to the wearer when it comes to business casual to casual. This type, coupled with a good outfit can give off a very friendly yet sophisticated look. 4. Is black on gray. This is more just out of personal preference when it comes to me buying a watch. But I think when one starts to venture out into a color banded timepiece the the versatility is there but still very limited. It couldn't be worn in a very formal event or at least shouldn't be worn in a formal event. Unless a grey suit or dinner jacket is acceptable. In most cases in my opinion if the band of the watch is colored it should match the overall color or color motif of the outfit. Not just the shoes and belt. Overall, the best choice would be the black band white face silver metal watch is the most versatile because it can suit a wide variety of outfit choices and depending on the manufacturer of course, they can add a very elegant look. I rank the watches based on both the requirements in the video and by virtue of Versatility. Personally I am a very big fan of metal banded watches because you don't have to worry too much about matching belts and shoes and whatever else. I do agree however that the metal has to match the belt buckle or any other metal on the clothing. There's a former service member, a silver banded white-faced timepiece work the best when in a formal dress uniform or and just regular Class A/service dress(in my case Air Force blues) silver or black leather banded watches worked perfectly. If it had a black leather band, the case looked best if it was silver color in nature. Enjoyed the video very much.

I'm gonna say: 1. (Most formal) Black band, white face, silver metal. 2. Black band, black face, black metal. 3. Brown band, white face, silver metal. 4. (Least formal) Grey band, black face, black metal. I would say that the brown band white face and silver metal is the most versatile watch, and in terms of The Fifth Watches' collections, I think the New York Classic is the most versatile. While the bands and timepieces are more formal, I would say that it would be easier to dress them down than to dress the Melbourne Minimal ones up. P.S, loving the hair and outfit!

Antonio, thank you for all your videos, I enjoy your channel not only because you put out good content, but are also very open to what people have to say. I do agree that The Fifth watches look really nice, but you mentioned ease of changing straps and while that is true, I think it's a little misdirected. While The Fifth watches are very easy when it comes to replacing straps, almost all watches today are. You may not be able to simply snap off the straps with the press of a button, BUT with a simple spring bar tool which costs $5, straps can easily be replaced. As someone who has recently been researching watches extensively, I personally don't see value in spending $150 on a Quartz movement, when in the price range you can obtain an Orient or a Seiko 5 with automatic movements. While I am not saying automatic is better than Quartz, to me an automatic movement is higher skill/higher craftsmanship. While I know you don't do product comparisons, it would be interesting to see how you approach the Quartz v. Auto debate and maybe see you recommend a range of brands instead of just The Fifth.

1.black/white/silver 2.black/black/black 3.grey/black/black 4.brown/white/silver The grey one is tricky. It's an eclectic option that I can see being dressed up with a dark suit. Thus, I ranked it higher than the brown strap watch. But even brown can be dressed up with a pair of brown shoes that can be paired nicely with dark blue or grey suits. Tough call.

1. white + black 2. black + black (while i think the black face is less dressy then the white one i still rank it second because in formal style black shoes are required and thus the brown band wouldnt match if you dont have a switch out black band at hand) 3. white + brown 4. black + grey 5. I would say the most versatile style of their 5 styles is the one with white face, silver metal and brown band - you could easily switch on a black band there and have it even dressier. Also since almost all mens dressy shoes are either black or brown and so with the described watch and the black switch out band you could now adapt the watch to all your shoes.

Most Formal to least formal 1 black and white =simplicity looks elegant. The colors white and black are widely use when we want to wear formal close. Contrast 2 Black and black = also for simplicity, color 3 brown and white= semi formal brown is a good color to pick for casual items 4 last silver and black= casual almost a field watch.

Antonio, thanks for these great advises! OK, just as with a suit a black band is clearly more formal than any brown: 1) Black band / white face / silver. 2) Brown band / white face / silver. In my opinion a black metal is hardly a formal option. A metal band may turn them into a statement that probably can be pulled off with a formal business suit but neither suede band nor the simplistic band of the Melbourne minimal (or Flatlay edition?) appears formal to me. So it may be helpful to bear a complimentary pair of shoes in mind. The suede band perfectly matches a pair of suede chukkas or desert boots, while the black may be worn with a casual leather slip-ons. The latter might be considered a bit dressier option and hence: 2) Black band / black face / black metal. 4) Suede band / black face / black metal. Speaking about versatility: a) The most versatile among the dressiest is probably the black band / white face / silver of the New York Classic - simple and refined. b) For a more casual situation I would opt for the Melbourne Minimal due to the wider body. Particularly for the brown band / white face / silver one.

1. Black band silver metal - classically formal, looks like it could fit with a tuxedo if needed 2. Brown band silver metal - you would probably get compliments for dressing up if you wore it to work 3. Black band Black metal - Looks like a cool casual watch, has some potential to be dressed up 4. Grey band Black metal - my least favorite so maybe that has something to do with it, seems super casual

+Real Men Real Style It may really be the only one that is fashionably accepted to wear on a formal black tie event. The all black is a little too "fashion-forward" for that 😀

Note on wearing a diver with a formal suit. You CAN try to dress that up to seem appropriate, but when acceptability is already kind of borderline, the fact that divers are generally so thick that the sleeve regularly catches on them leads me to shy away from them in that situation.

1. leather/white 2.black/white 3.black/ black 4. grey/black In My opinion white faced watches are more formal than black. I picked leather before black strap because it matches if you want a pair of leather shoes . The grey/black watch is in my opinion more casual than the all black watch so that's why I put it at number four
