Exactly what I was thinking. This is seriously the 5th game? It looks and feels about as basic as heat 4, 3, 2, and Evolution. If there wasn't a year-long cycle for each of these games, they couldve made them great. Unfortunately, they don't seem to realize yet what makes a good NASCAR game, so we're stuck with these shitty buggy nightmares or old games with aged graphics, old cars and rule sets, and controller-only play (unless you have an emulator). I'm sick of spending money on these games only to feel like nothing changes at all. For fucks sake, Matt Kenseth is Kyle Larson in this game! I understand that what he did was last minute, but you seriously couldnt change a fucking *character model* ? Its not like theyre rewriting the crash and draft physics or tire wear (which, should have been fixed by now too), its a character model. Even just "generic white guy placeholder #46253" wouldve worked better than that. Also, minor gripe, but what the fuck are these trophies? A tire, seriously? Where are the real trophies for these tracks? Wheres Miles the Monster? Wheres the Championship trophies? Another problem is how the tracks function. To quote WindVOW (A.K.A. Michael Cosey), imagine using the dog leg and not gaining a single second of time on anyone. At the road coarses, there are spots where you can cause cautions and gain track position if youre lucky and do it right. The curbs send you flying into the air, and the number system for your cars is absolutely arbitrary. In NASCAR Thunder '04, getting even a small boost would give you 2 to 3 tenths of a second, which is *everything* in motorsports, especially NASCAR. But in the Heat series, going from 85 to 90 means fuck all. Sometimes cautions come out at random for no reason (I remember one time where Matt DiBenidetto suddenly fell 20 spots while right in front of me, and nothing had happened to him) and there's no replay to see what happened, or a way to set them the way you want outside of "infrequent" or "frequent" which isnt very helpful. Same with "strict and relaxed" cautions; they feel the exact same. The challenges are wayyyyy too easy, and the "wreckfest" ones don't even look real at all. How anyone defends this series after this long, with all the missteps and problems 704 has had with this series, I don't know. Even NASCAR CFTC was better than this, and that game had a bullshit apron that made you spin after a certain speed. I don't understand how 704 can continue to peddle these sub-par games to anyone despite how shitty they are. The only things I liked about 5 were the way the cars looked and customizing your character. Im not buying 6, 7, or any others they put out, because I shouldnt have had to wait this long for a good modern NASCAR game that isn't iRacing.

@@lieutenantmcbubbles7403 I get it yesterday, try to use inside line, the AI tires mark the mud, making the ideal line, and the lap time between 15.6 sec and 15.8 sec 15.9 sec it's a little more than ideal time, but it still good. If you'll do 16 sec, restart the challenge, you'll lose by a car or less
