Out of curiosity, which size tapered tenon cutter are you using? I've made one barrel for myself out of a used bourbon barrel head and want to make some more but I definitely want to switch to the tapered bung.

I use the Veritas ⅝ Tapered Tenon Cutter from Lee Valley tools, and their Standard Taper Reamer for reaming the bunghole to match.

It’s called a Standard Taper Reamer, from Lee Valley Tools.
