I think I am going to download this video and load it in reaper and slow it down to 1% to see if I can keep up.

Yes, not much a tutorial, more of a speed run. He's very good at what he's doing, but would be nice if for just one of the edits he could slow down and explain what he is doing rather than trying to break the world record for editing guitars. This is more of a demo than a tutorial; very well done, but really hard to follow.

@@tobeabletosee Agreed. A speed run is the best way to describe this. I can edit, but not like this guy. lol

This guy was editing audio efficiently, correctly, and making major changes in the track at 94% the speed of light. You sir, are not human. Unless you are have powers that you hide from the rest of the world because you are afraid of being discriminated against for being a mutant or some shit. I would pay good money to see you edit audio vs. The Flash.

Mate this is spot on. Other videos made this super complicated, this is such a sound explanation. I've been doing a project that needed machine like industrial guitars at one point so this is perfect, just going to hyper align everything! Thanks for this.

@@zanarirecords Thanks for the awesome video! What stretch algorithm do you use when editing guitars with stretch markers?
@davidlajeunesse2168

I used to stretch the split which stretch the item before and after the split (both) but on everything. Happy to see the way u do it. You dont need to always stretch and it's much cleaner that way

I just started using reaper. It’s great!! I added the FLogic theme which has made it way easier to use as income from GarageBand. Slowly muddling my way through. Had to redo a whole song worth of drums. But that’s ok! Learning experience haha

Editing these staccato parts clear-cut rests is easy. What frustrates me is trying to edit sustained notes with no rests between, but still lots of transients that need to be aligned.

I'm so thankful for giving me a tip for aligning guitars. I thought that every single track should be aligned to the grid and together, but it's not like that.

No worries! I'm glad you got something out of the video. There is definitely nuance to guitar editing, and being aware of your guitars being too tight together is super important. Thanks for the comment!

Great tips. What is the difference between dragging the audio within the lane as oppose to dragging the item itself? Is there any advantage to it or just preference? I get that it will leave a little more audio at the end or start of the length of the item depending which direction you drag, while moving the item as a whole doesn't affect the start/end of the item's audio like that.
@zanarirecords
@zanarirecords 10 ай бұрын
Mainly preference/how I've taught myself. Moving the whole item also means if you have multiple takes to cycle through you will be able to audition each take with them all roughly time aligned.

@@zanarirecords I'm pretty familiar with reaper now but I would like to beginners type tutorial on routing. Why you need it, what it does, and how to properly set it up for instruments or drums and why you might need to. Some of these things I already know but I wouldn't mind watching one by you explaining all of this from the basics. I hear this asked a lot in reaper forums of the Facebook group. Lots of questions about routing!
