Thanks! I have rust all over mine I keep going over it every year but I keep wanting to do the back of the bumper and really rustproof everything so this will help me remove it this afternoon. I'm solo so the rope on the bed tiedowns is something I didn't think of.

Nice! I painted it with a primer, and plastic paint for bumpers, but don't really have experience with rust since I'm in SoCal It's a bit heavy, maybe 40ish pounds

@@Striker50_ I am in Canada, and it's my winter 4x4, so every summer I do rust correction. I've always feared pulling the bumper, but it was easy. It's worth noting that if you have a hitch that mounts under the bumper like I have, instead of the ball on the bumper, the hitch will actually support the bumper once the bolts are out, then you just lift it off. I used bungee cords to the bed tie downs, and put towels between the bumper corners and the painted bed corners. Real quick and easy.

@@Immashift Nice to know for others that stop by here in the future. The 4 cyl is a bit more bare bones but many may have a tow package set up

Currently under the rear right now, it's WAY easier if you drop the spare out of the way, as you can gets full 180 on your ratchet and you get a head rest

I wish ALL cars were this easy to work on! (The engine on the Ranger is another story though 💀)

@@Striker50_ The bumper was relatively simple to take off, mounting a new one (ford ranger part) onto my B2300 Mazda without the correct connecting pieces, not so much. I may have to return the bumper i bought for it. and start over again, gah..

@@trinitywave Interesting as to why they would implement a different design 🤔

Great video, there should be way more videos of this removal process. And I think applies to many years long before 2007, pretty sure it’s the exact same process from 1993-2011.

I agree! I could only find 1 video at the time and it didn't really show the details. I'd imagine the previous rangers are similar. Made this video to hopefully help others 👌
