Funny, I originally learned this from Park tool a few years ago but it's always good to have a reminder on the smaller adjustments you might forget, thanks!

Seems simple enough. My gears started shifting loudly and clicking a few weeks after getting my new bike, tried to use the adjuster, ended up screwing it up so bad i have no choice but to go to a bike shop. Not having a bike stand is painful
@GetOutArizona10 ай бұрын
Yeah, having a stand is a benefit, especially for routine maintenance and adjustments. That's how it was for me my first couple of times adjusting my rear derailleur. It's how we learn. With a little practice, you'll be adjusting it like a pro. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Both are appreciated.

@@GetOutArizonahad to say sometimes I can't be bothered to use a stand so I sort of hook the saddle over back of my neck as I'm bent over and one hand on shifter and other switch between pedal and adjuster
@GetOutArizona5 ай бұрын
@@mlee6050 there’s nothing wrong with a third-party method, lol. I love your ingenuity. Thanks for adding to the conversation my friend.

@@mlee6050if you don’t have any hydraulics just turn the bike upside down and you can shift and pedal it
@mlee6050Ай бұрын
@@billybigs4207 I don't have any bikes without hydraulics, plus I mainly do so as not damage the £300 saddle on the ground, on my mountain bike even with hydraulic put upside down, I'm like only one to have mountain bike brake levers level than aimed slightly down

Just got a Jekyll 1000 with a lefty and through all new components on it, for the life of me I can’t get it to shift into lowest gear
@GetOutArizona Жыл бұрын
You might want to check your b tension adjustment on the rear derailleur as well. We have a couple of videos on that too. If the barrel adjustment is good, adjusting that will do the trick.

It seems easy but in my new bike when I index the lower gears the upper gears make this noise and when I index the upper gears the lower gears make this noise again can you help me?

That's incorrect: what about the limit screws? Tension screw?
@GetOutArizona11 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching and leaving your comments. It's not incorrect, but one of a couple ways you can properly adjust your rear derailleur. We have also made videos for the front as well using this same technique, as well as how to make adjustments using the high and low-limit screws.
