FYI you don't need to remove door handle to remove door panel.. all you do is pull the handle like your opening the door and remove panel. save yourself a step

Those lock button assemblies are junk. I have two of them on mine that are broken. Thanks for the video! I'll have to get into that panel of mine eventually as well to replace some speakers.

Thanks, I did everything you did but the panel would not come off. Before I damaged it, I figured I should check a video on it. As yours was, it's stuck from never being taken off in 20 years! Both rear door locks don't work in auto and I need to look into fixing them......

Yea some panels the tabs do break. We all have been there ;(

Thanks; I have to remove both rear door panels on my 2001. The electric door locks wont lock. There is a 1/8 inch rivet that is through the latch side of the door. The rivet head looks to be 1/4 inch diameter. They fall off, you find an odd aluminum "donut" in the carpet and that is a clue the rivit has failed. The big expense is the rivet gun. You could use a shallow head screw fastener. You still have to open the panel up to remove the tail of the broken rivit.

..as usual, a $0.02 piece of plastic. I have used a piece of vacuum or fuel line hose tied with a piece of wire around it inside the panel for a clamp. There aint no telling what one of those from a dealer would cost...!
