There's two men there that aren't the DM, and of the two Jerry's the talkative one. Not exactly a revelation. I feel pretty confident saying that none of the players (or the DM) has the issues with Tycho that you seem to have. Jerry is talkative, but he has the wits to back it up. More importantly, Jerry is an experienced DM in his own right, and I guarantee you that he's motivated by the desire to make sure everyone at the table is having a good time. I'm sorry that you seem to have such a problem with him, he's good people.

@clarissa35f Ah, well, "different strokes", I guess. If you came expecting seriously-minded vampire drama, I can see how this series wouldn't be for you without some adjustment on your part. Personally, I enjoy watching a table full of players having a good time - and this table was clearly one of those.

The look on Jason's face as she explains the straw is just classic. I believe it to be the look of someone who's been doing a thing for many years and comes across someone with an idea he's never even considered.

Joe Miller I don't think that would go well, considering they are luminary Cammies and the Revolution is quite literally at war ( in a truce at time of writing ) with the Camarilla. Though I will admit... It would be interesting how Annabelle would respond to meeting this Coterie of absolute weirdos :P Like... So many things about being Embraced turns your expectations of reality on its head, I can't imagine how she would respond to meeting this gaggle of comically goofy characters.

I think Annabelle would love to meet Tom and Amanda. I don't think she would have a terribly hard time getting them to swing Anarch. Jamison and Annabelle would probably spend a week in moral philosophcal debate trying to get the last word in over each other. Betty would probably diablerise Annabelle for general purpose.

To be fair, the way it's done here makes significantly more sense. The more Human you are, the easier it should be to feel remorse and maintain humanity, whereas it should be the opposite the less human you become, especially considering how Remorse checks are worded. Hence the downward spiral. One of V5s many little factors of weirdness. Like it a lot, but it's not perfect. Also I think it's kinda strange how, in these 5 episodes of a more lighthearted campaign, humanity stains have come up more frequently than the entirety of LA by Night's 3 seasons. Makes me think that maybe Jason is just doing that behind the scenes, perhaps?

@@DimonJ21 I like the "by the book" mechanics. IMO it hurts more your humanity when you do terrible things, then when you are in low-humanity levels. If you kill someone as humanity 8, for example, you feel a great Remorse towards that. If you are 5-to-0, it's just another day under the moon, doing things. Regarding LA by Night, If I can remember, Jasper lost 1 humanity when he killed those Duskborn drug dealers.

Honestly I think this rule is just written/phrased weird. I have to agree here as the way the system is supposed to work as I understand is 1. Your available stain boxes are 10-(your humanity score). Such that at 10 you have none, 9 you have 1 stain box and so on. 2. If you ever take more stains than you have stain boxes you automatically lose a humanity and any lost humanity converts to a stain box. Hence any stains at 10 humanity automatically makes you go to 9 and at 9 taking 2 stains would automatically make you got to 8. 3. At the end or beginning of a session, if you have any stains, you make your remorse roll to see whether or not you actually feel your actions were wrong or rationalize them as acceptable making you less human. 4. To make your remorse roll you take a pool of dice equal to your total remaining stain boxes +1, essentially the stain that would result in an automatic loss of humanity still counts as a dice. 5. From that pool you then have to get 1 success (forget if you allowed to take willpower or aggravated willpower here if you fail, might be a house rules thing) to avoid losing a humanity point. Any successes you get over 1 are merely a role-playing device to determine how hard it was for you to feel guilt instead of rationalizing. 6. Similar to a take half rule a chronicle can establish the ability for a player to opt to carry over their stains between sessions, recognizing that avoiding the roll does come at the cost of your likely reducing the total number of stains at any given humanity you can take before your luck would run out. Also its potentially a role-playing device to represent what they did is troubling to them and as such their mind can't decide yet.

Yeah I know its easier to blame the Giovanni, kind of, since you aren't making tension in house. A numerous cult clan is not something to belittle though :(

@@4203105 Nope they rolled their marked Humanity. A vampire with 7 or 8 dots unmarked is very different, very close to the point of no return. He is almost entirely the Beast. A newborn cannot be like that

@@4203105 unless I miss my mark, they were rolling their "filled" humanity, equal to their humanity score. Amanda would have two unfilled boxes (as she's at 8/10 humanity) and, if she has a stain, only one unmarked box. This means the less humanity you have, the more horrible things you can do before losing more, which rings true to me.

@@danieloregan7567 huh. If that's how the rules are meant to be interpreted that's hardcore and imo doesn't make that much sense. From a lore perspective you should roll your remaining humanity, imo. I think the less humanity you have the faster you'd lose it, since there isn't much holding you back anymore. YMMV. How it was done here is also how they've always done it on LA by night. Maybe the rules are just badly worded? If anybody should know it's Jason Carl.

@@4203105 true, which does make me wonder if I've read it wrong. But if you roll your remaining humanity, that means characters best equipped to do awful things and not fall lower are those who have high humanity, while the callous monsters have to be extra careful not to sin, and that doesn't seem right.

Apparently they aren't doing the 'express escalator to hell' approach to humanity resolutions. Otherwise the average player would be at minimum humanity by the end of their first month. :P

Eh, this is a more loose and fun adventure and I for one like the occasional quips. They are still finding their footing. In the c-team they self inforce with "miles away!" When it gets too out of hand. I'm sure after a while something like that will come about here, too.

Ben Poppy Mike is playing Tom that way on purpose. Tom even said at one point he believed keeping the food down was a mind over stomach thing.

This episode highly implied it is him hoping you can re learn how to do human things and for some part its still a weird habit.

Yes, like most vampires Amanda is reflected in mirrors and can be captured on video. The only exceptions are the Lasombra clan, like Betty. They can't interact with technology and mirrors because they are closer to Shadow and that means they exist on a different 'wavelength' of reality.
