Rear Wheel Removal & Bearings Replaced-2012 Harley Davidson Street Glide Part 1 of 2 | Techn' Moto
Today my brother dropped off his Harley Davidson Street Glide for repair. Bike is making noise from the rear section and upon looking at the bike we have decided that it is the rear wheel bearings. So I take the Street Glide rear tire off the bike and remove and install new rear wheel bearings.

Really well done Mate, I wish I was mechanically minded. Taking the wheel off a car is so much easier. Take care.

Love you're videos...I have used some myself. I put the bike on the stand as you have and loosen the exhaust the same but I remove both lower shock bolts and let the tire sit on the ground and pull the axle bolt out below the mufflers. I lift the bike up with the stand and remove the wheel if necessary. With the wheel removed and the shocks disconnected from the swing arm its easy to check side to side play in the swingarm/transmission mount. Its also easier to reinstall the axle shaft with the tire supported on the ground and moving the swing arm as necessary. J

Brother all you have to do is get a scissor jack and lift the rear wheel up a little bit and then slide the axle right out!! the grease is NOT holding that in..lol , you don't have enough leverage on the rear wheel!!

Would be better to use a bearing puller but all I have is a cheap welder 😂 thanks for watching and commenting.

Ive been turning wrenchs for 20+ years. Why dont you use a puller and installer and do this the proper way? Its a motorcycle for christ sake. You can never be to careful.

so which way did you put in the abs bearing, why dont you show it to watchers, visually, come on man
@TechnMoto
@TechnMoto Жыл бұрын
Install the same way you removed it or get a service manual for reference. If you look at the bearing the abs bearing has a metal cover on it and both sides are different. It is usually marked. The metal/abs side goes out. I’ll remember that for next time. Thanks.
