For everyone confused Quincy are basically allergic to Hollow Reiatsu and Ichigo’s Shinigami powers are partially Hollow Reiatsu. Also for clarification the Allergy the Quincy’s have is one sided so a Hollow can become a Quincy.

It's because he is melded with his hollow powers with his soul reaper powers. It's why he had a sword when he absorbed rukia's powers. the way azien made the hollow white was similar to how the No.1 sword creator makes the soul reapers swords.

I feel like the Sternritters couldn't take Ichigo's Bankai was because it was a FALSE Bankai. Ichigo's powers were being suppressed and his hollow side became his Soul Reaper powers. He doesn't become fully aware of who he is until TYBW and thus his Shikai he gets forged becomes his TRUE Zanpakto.

Hollow Ichigo/Zangetsu is just that goated. Remember the Zanpakuto filler arc? He was the only Zanpakuto (not counting Old Man Zangetsu) that couldn’t be controlled by Muramasa, because of his powers as a Hollow.

When, on Klub Outside, I saw someone asked if Ichigo's Bankai couldn't be stolen due to Ichigo's Hollow side (which Kubo confirmed), I thought it was a stupid question, as it's pretty obvious. Looking at the comment section here I realise it's apparently not that obvious.

The first time we see a Quincy try to take Ichigo's Bankai we see it crack one of his Full Bring remnants a little. This indicates it could simply be because his full bring armor resisted the attempt.

So two things to note, the reason you gave is definitely correct but there is another reason in play for Ichigo, unlike other Zanpakuto spirit that manifest from the users soul, White Ichigo(hollow+Soul Reaper), Old Zangetsu are fusued to Ichigo since his birth unlike other soul reapers so they are like a single entity in many ways, this likely also played a part, since we see that others loose control of the stolen bankai when hollowfied but in Ichigo's case it was like the process had no effect rather than it failing 2nd Ichigo's bankai was actually strong enough that only Yhwach and his royal guards could have used it, regardless it wasn't possible because of his hollow affiliation.

There should have been a scene where "white" made a visit to a quincy trying to steal him.

The funny thing is his sword is Nither shinigami or Quincy, it’s a hollow. His Banki is what adds in his Quincy powers. It’s not until he reveals his true Bonki that you see his true smaller sword.

Honestly, I thought it was because it wasn't a real Bankai. As far as I'm aware, OG Tensa Zangetsu was more akin to a Quincy's bow.

always thought it didn't work because Ichigo's bankai is completely different from others. when others do bankai, its just their sword that completely transforms, Ichigo's bankai however seems to literally be a part of him since his whole body and sword go through a transformation. it might be a difficult for someone to steal something like that.

Ichigo's Bankai *was* still mostly his Quincy powers at the start of the TYBW. The medallions were designed to steal Shinigami's Bankai, not Quincy powers. Also, his actual Shinigami powers are based on his hollow side. So either way it wouldn't work even if he was using his real Bankai instead of the fake one he's been using.

This is incorrect, Ichigo was only using his Quincy powers. His soul reaper powers were being suppressed by "old man zangetsu". They weren't released until you see him with two swords.

But ebern wasnt a quincy. He was an arrancar. With this reason, ebern would have been able to steal it, unless the actual quincy medallion was blocking the bankai thefts.

It was an easy answer why the Stern Ritters can't steal his bankai. His bankai has hollow powers and Quincies and hollow don't mix.

I do agree with you on the Hollow reiatsu interfering, but Kubo's message on Bankai stealing is kinda...flip-floppy at times. Yamamoto said "You can't steal my Bankai, not because you're not strong, but because you can't understand it completely", and that would make more sense, because Yamamoto's Zanka no Tachi hadn't fully matured yet and Ichigo's Bankai had both Hollow powers and wasn't the real thing. But then Yhwach says "Nah, but I can because I'm strong enough", not "Nah, but now I can because Lloyd gathered all the Daten". It seems to me that he's saying that he totally could steal Ichigo's Fullbring Bankai if he wanted.

I done knew this before I even finished season 2. I'm scared people had to get this explained to them. It was clear to me from the start.

Its been confirmed, Ichigo's Zanpaktou is already Hollow-infused. Thus couldn't be stolen cause hollow rietsu is toxic for Quincies.

They wouldve discovered this quicker if the vaizard captains used bankai and went ape shit crazy during the 1st quincy invasion

Before this I just thought it was because there really wasn’t to steal like toshiro’s bankai because with his bankai you were kinda stealing an element and some techniques but with ichigo he didn’t really have an element to steal nor any technique to steal because Getsuga Tenshou was something he could use outside of his bankai form and because of how he used the technique it no Quincy could steal it.

I actually have a theory that it's because it's his soul reaper Quincy and hallification blood and that's what his bronchi is it's a manifestation of all three of those and that's too much for them to take out they can only take out one from one person not three from one person

I mean, i always though it was because of his hollow reiatsu. And that was the thing that give Urahara a way to stop that, that's why they never stole the vizard's bankai neither. I read the manga a long time ago, so i could be wrong. Edit after watching the short: i was right.

Also shows that Ichigo's Bankai acted more like a Resurrecion than a standard/stereotype bankai, think about it White aka Zangetsu is the perfect mix and blend between Shinigami and Hollow basically more than the Arrancar ever were due to that Ichigo's Bankai was more of a Resurrecion in nature since when you think about it an Arrancars Zanpakuto is basically their Hollow form sealed into a blade, the same can be said for Zangetsu as it's literally White sealed in a blade, Ressurecion is when an Arrancar releases said power and returns to seemingly their true form where their physical appearance has a drastic change, what happens when Ichigo uses Bankai? His form and blades form changes drastically with his fighting style more focused on melee high speed combat and reiatsu based attacks like the Black Getsuga Tenshou which is a Getsuga mixed with a Cero Oscuras, wielding a black blade and what's White aka Zangetsu's original form before he became Zangetsu? A Black Hollow who's fighting style is focused on high speed melee combat, energy based attacks like the Cero with BLACK BLADES for arms. So with this Ichigo's Tensa Zangetsu is more of a Bankai with Resurrecion properties. Also Cero Oscuras is an ability Arrancars of Espada Level can discharge in a Resurrecion state what does that tell you when Ichigo's Getsuga in bankai goes from Blue/Golden to Black with a Red or White/Blueish hue in the end of it. More proof his Bankai is Resurrecion in nature.

We all just really found out that Quincy was the one guiding him the whole time. They were never done he just wasn't capable of actively using them. That blue energy coming from your store was in fact this Quincy power. When it turns black that is the mixture of the Quincy and the hollow.

Qulige is one example were even if you are not a top tier Sternritter with ridiculously hax schrift, if you are strong in the basics and foundation of your powers, a stronger opponent can be overpowered. RIP best side villain!
