I don't know about reasons for moving to Shelby but I have MANY reasons for leaving Shelby/Cleveland County.

Interesting that deer were considered a con. I’ve lived in PA for almost 7 years and have an extensive deer population. Deer would always be in my backyard. The issue is we are encroaching on them not the other way around. They are exceptional animals and are great fertilizers for soil. Best thing you can do is drive with some sense and you won’t have an issue with deer. 😁

My entire Black family has deeper roots than most in Shelby dating back to slavery. Ive always wanted to go there to see what they experienced.

I grew up in Shelby and well really hated the day that I had to move on... With no jobs for younger people, only retired folks could make it there (no knock on them, but that was why my family had to move)... It's a lovely small town and I have many fond memories growing up there... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that hopefully the casino will help the area out with more jobs

Casino? All that place will do is create more poverty and more broken families. Do you remember the video poker that was just across the SC line? Those places ruined families. Thank goodness SC finally got a Governor that pulled the plug on that mess.

You said it. If you aren't working food or in a warehouse on washburn switch there aren't many opportunities there.
