omg i can't begin to describe just HOW similar that story is to mine! not kidding honestly bts fandom is the most lighthearted and beautiful fandom to be part of 💜💜💜

Same... blackpink was the first kpop group I got into and they blew me away singing, rapping, professional , humble and they have this amazing sisterly bond being together for like 8-9 years. I only bring them up bc at first bc of toxic blinks or toxic army who really are not part of either of the true fandoms, were always arguing and saying awful things about either group but since I only knew blackpink I decided to stay away from BTS stuff and didn’t know their music or anything about them... but one day something popped into my recommended and I can’t remember the title but it was about their name and about how themes in their music and videos are for the youth around the world.. to give them hope, community, love and if they’re struggling.. that there’s another way... that they’re not alone and not to give up. It’s super important in places like North Korea where everyone is banned from any music with English, you can only get like 3 haircuts and every hair cutting places will only do those 3, many have no internet, no youtube, no google, no vpn to sneak to watch stuff... it’s a militant state that is harshly controlled and only old style traditional Korean ways are accepted. Like you can get arrested or even worse for something like listening to music... but there’s people actually smuggling music across the Chinese border where they can only listen to cassette tapes or burned cds bc that’s all they have. Anyway I guess BTS is a big thing for them especially bc of their music and what they are all about... there’s been a huge spike in defectors in North Korea which means they basically don’t follow the rules but kinda hide I believe.. but they won’t end up fighting in their army kinda stuff. It’s a way bigger deal and even without knowing all of this , hearing your story kinda reminded me that of that. It’s crazy to think in other parts of the world that things are like that.. music is so important I think... and I see why ppl smuggle bts especially over to them... for stories such as yours. No matter where people are and what is happening... I know that hearing these guys sing and getting to see them in a more personal level can really be life changing and I’m thankful they found you when you needed them. The more you know the more you love them lol they even partnered with unicef and gave a speech at the UN... like their music and performances and art really would be enough... bc that already is honestly soul therapy I think lol but the fact that there is so much more underneath that means so incredibly much... it’s just beautiful to see their bond and love for each other and all their fans. I can’t believe I could’ve missed out just bc of toxic blinks or toxic army which again are not real army or blinks.. ppl who want to spread hate around, I don’t get it... but I’m thankful that they found their way to me and I’m grateful!! Luckily there’s so much content online and stuff too that there’s always something new that we can view or listen to when needed!!! 💜
