Finally got to go to the local library in Susanville, Calif! Take a look at some books with me and decide on some books to read at home. The lovely sound of dust jacket crinkles and page turning is so wonderful and nostalgic.

Hey Rebecca ! It's been a while 😊 I hope you have some good weather in California. Here in Quebec Canada .... it's freezing cold. I hope you and your husband are doing good and enjoying your retirement. I wish I could be retired ... think I would do more things and work more than what I'm doing at work 🤣🤣🤣 I'm far from being there ... probably still have 20 more years to do. Oh well Love this video with all these crackles. That was totally awesome to hear. Sitting in my favorite chair ... listening to these crackles made me relax 😊 It's like music to my ears. Hope your guys are enjoying the house and the surroundings. I wish I could leave this cold and go somewhere warmer ... but it takes money to do that. Everything got so much more expensive It's insane. Anyways ... keep up the good work like always and thank you for being there Rebecca. Hey Natty! 🙋🏻‍♀️🤗🤗 I would rather be young again than to be retired. But there are certainly benefits to being retired. And also being older. Catch 22. In any case, I purpose to be content with my lot in life. What else can we do? It's ridiculously expensive here in California too. Thus, the fixer upper house we bought in order to afford the cost of living. Also, I actually need my KZfaq income now because of my husband's retirement years. So, in reality, I will be working for many years to come, Lord willing. 🙏🏻 About your weather...oh my goodness gracious! How do you contend with it? You are a stronger soul than I. Weather effects me something fierce. You were raised there in Quebec, right? Do you hold it dear? Family there?

Yay!! Another library video from you. I absolutely love your library one you did with your daughter. Its my fav of all time and watched it so much. I'd love another like it. You are a great duo. It was giving me great tingle memories from when I was a kid and the librarian would be over my shoulders helping me look for books for a project

I have been really into CJ Archer. She does a lot of murder mystery based in 1800 England. The series im reading is Glass and Steele. That one has some magic in it. There is romance, but it's tasteful. She has other books without magic if you dont like that. Just thought id share. 😀 This was very wonderful. Thank you for the tingles. ❤

Very excited to see this one posted! How fun to see the library in your new community. I hoped this one was quiter than the previous one, but seems like quiet libraries are as rare as black diamonds these days. 🤫 📚 ❤ You looked at a lot of familiar books this time. I read a lot of Poe when I was young - so creepy! A Voice in the Wind and its sequel are on my shelf, but I haven't read them yet. I read Scarlett years ago and enjoyed it - most of it's set in Ireland, which was interesting. I've read a couple Terry Pratchett books and they were entertaining, but very strange so you probably wouldn't have enjoyed them. Tad Williams used to be one of my favorite authors, but he writes epic fantasy which doesn't seem like your jam. 😊 Crazy that the power just cut out like that! Although, I have a brother in CA and he said power outages are a big problem there.

Hey Patrice! 🙋🏻‍♀️ Isn't it crazy how much lack of respect people have for the library these days? I had to edit out so much. So frustrating! I think I might have to give the book, Scarlett another try. I was very much younger, and couldn't relate to Ireland back when it first came out. Now, I think I've matured enough to appreciate it, possibly. But let me tell you, you must read "the voice in the wind", series. I believe there are three of them. These tales are so gripping. Very few books have I read that captivated me and became page turners that I just couldn't put down. The same thing happened to the rest of my family. As for power outages, I never lived in a place that had more of them as when I lived in Portland, Tennessee. I guess the storms were just too frequent. Living here, my cats don't run and hide out of terror from thunderstorms. We just don't have them. That's a great relief. Thank you for your lovely comment.

@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction I read Scarlett when it first came out, which was decades ago. Who knows what I'd think if I read it now. I was always pretty ga-ga over Ireland, though, so I'm sure that made a difference. I will definitely read those Francine Rivers books (I own several of hers). I went through a reading slump for a few years but kept buying books, so I got waaaay behind on my TBR (to be read) piles. I finally got my groove back last year and finished over 270 books, so I'll hopefully get to those Rivers books this year. Tessa Afshar writes historical fiction set in Biblical times, too, and she's one of my favorite authors, so I'm sure I'll enjoy FR's Mark of the Lion series. Glad your kitties are in their happy place! 🙂

I just worked near Susanville and Chester California! It was a lovely place especially the Dutch pastry cafe Koninkrijk Koffiehuis in Chester. The Side Iron BBQ in Susanville was great too! I’ll check out the library next time I work in the area now

Hello my friend! The library is one of my favorite places to be. It's the atmosphere and background sounds of books, papers and whispering of people that relaxes me so much. Reminds me of grammar school. When I was a kid I didn't realize at the time but there was lots of ASMR going in my head when we went to the library😅Thank you for this video!🥰♥️💕📚🏫

I wish there was more of what you describe. The library these days is either full on noisy or silent. This video would be longer if it weren't for the undisciplined children or big mouth adults. Very little reading going on. Very sad, indeed.

If you are open to some suggestions, these are a few of my favorites reads from the last few years: Hang the moon - Jeanette Walls; The lost for words bookshop; Hamet - O'Farrell; Kindred - Octavia Butler; The Lido - Libby Page; Little fires everywhere - Celeste Ng; The whale at the end ofthe world; Eleanor liphant is completely fine; and from the German author Cornelia Funke: The complete Ink Trilogy which is a fantastical world with a book theme to it.

Wow I loves library's there is a certain mystery to them I don't know if it's the building or the vast sea of written words dating back sometimes centuries all culminating together to make the building they are housed in feel strange...all I know is I really want to go to one when it is stormy outside or one that looks like the page master film What the heck happened at the end? Some of us with ASMR, I have learned, also experience mysphonia, sounds we cannot tolerate. That is what I experienced with this video. I had so much footage at this library. So much had to be edited out. Same way with my upcoming dollar tree video. Not that dollar tree was ever expected to be quiet, but I was able to achieve that in my old store in Tennessee. A lot of people are just very thoughtless, in general. They are brash in real life. I have a hard time with those kinds of people. And I do have a bit of misophonia, myself. A little. 😉
