My girlfriend has been practicing singing this song since she was 14, so that she could one day sing it to the love of her life. In November 2021 she decided to sing it to me, she is 29 years old now. It was a moving moment as she was finally able to give this gift to someone after 15 years. While listening to her beautiful voice, I realized this special someone was me. I still feel touched, honored and blessed when thinking back to this day. This woman changed me and brought me closer to God. I am deeply in love with her. That’s why I decided to thank her for her waiting. She doesn’t know that tonight she will read this comment. I sang this song a lot during my teens. My husband and I were both virgins when we got married and we've been happily married for 18 years. It's worth it!

This was pretty much my thought when I was single. I waited for the one God had for me. A lot of well-meaning people gave me bad advice, but I really did as I felt God leading me. The pastor who encouraged me the most in my waiting was the one who ended up performing our wedding, and he broke down and cried in the ceremony. It was so encouraging. Waiting on God doesn't ensure we'll get whatever we want out of life. But it does ensure we'll get God's purposes for us. While I waited to meet my husband, God led me to a lot of different ministries. I wouldn't trade that time for anything.

I just started listening to this song and I love it. I'm 37 and I am waiting for my future husband and I pray that he waits for me too. I'm allowing God to be in control and for the Holy Spirit to guide me into the right relationship in God's timing. Online dating is a waste of time its not for me and after meeting the wrong guys I am allowing God to take the lead and bring me someone in His timing and who is a right match for me.

When I was in my 20s, I didn't date at all. There were guys who were into me but I turned them down because I didn't feel the connection. I'd also listen to this song to inspire me even though I questioned if I was being too picky. But I held steadfast to my belief and trust God that he would send someone to me. At age 29, I met the guy who I truly believe God sent to me. We got married one year later. Forward 10 years later, I love him with every fiber of my being. I listened to this song a lot before I met my now husband and I always felt the same way that she did, and I did pray for my future husband. We both saved ourselves for each other and it is the most precious gift we have been able to give each other in our marriage. We don't have others to compare to and know that we are each others' one and only. I wouldn't have it any other way and I'm so glad we both waited (and we weren't teens when we met/got married. We were 24 when we met, 25 when we said "I Do", been married 7 years now). Don't give up on waiting! It is worth the wait for the right person! :)

I wish I still had the optimism and faith and innocence that I had when I first heard this song. But these past five years, living on my own in the world, have left me bitter, cynical and cold. I have seen a darkness, and I have lost much since then. Things will never be the same. I wish I could believe in the promise expressed in this song, but faith is hard for me to muster these days. Still, there is the hope that I can still live the life I used to dream of when hearing this song.

My fiance, Carie and I, were tricked and lied too long ago as teenage sweethearts, in love deeply 2 years. Others took advantage and tore us apart unknowingly against our Wills. They, however, NEVER BROKE either of our resolve and feelings for one another, 35 years later! I finally find her, we literally slipped right back into the shoes we left off at as if we'd never lost each other. It's been almost 1.5 years now, reunited, engaged, and moving forward together happily, long overdue us both. We both WAITED for the other and never found real love with another ever.
