Why was that lady by the car acting so calm? She was acting like that was one of her normal things in a day of a life. I would of died before she even transitioned on her face.😂

the only loophole i could see here is that Katherine compelled the woman about her information, but Elena isn't Katherine, she just looks exactly like her. i didn't know compulsion works if it's executed by or on a doppelganger.

They stole it. In a later scene in this episode, Damon and Stefan meet at his car where they abandoned it.
