Since she is already varnished the soft touch will work but it quickly becomes shiny when used on its own and if you use it all by itself with no other varnish underneath the new soft touch formula will come off and pull the paint off as well but, like I said, since your babies are already varnished it should be fine. I put some straight on Siggy's hands and feet and they have probably gone really shiny now. Its one thing I really dont like about it and why I switched to heat set now and only use that other than touch ups. I fortunately still have some Golden polymer matte for that and that is also under the soft touch with matting powder on your Siggy. I used to mix Macphersons matting powder into the soft touch which imo works better than corn starch. I dont have any experience with the RebornFX varnish but I do have some...I just never got around to trying it.

@@RaendomReborns If you ever need anything I would be happy to do it for you. The soft touch will be ok as long as the baby is already varnished but I had it come off of a doll when I first got it not knowing they changed the formula...post covid. Fortunately it was someone I know and she was here in the EU so she sent her back to me and I was able to fix her but it was the side of her face. Im glad to hear Siggy looks ok as far as shine. Her hands and feet looked dry so I did a coat of straight soft touch. Her original varnish is Golden polymer matte with the matting powder. I really like the heat set varnish though, Im sold 😉. I will be in the US during Christmas this year so if you need me to rematte her or anything else I would be happy to do it then and the shipping wont be so crazy, Ill just bring what I need with me 😊.

I was very conservative with it 😉 but yeah I like that it’s an option more available than sending them out for maintenance. I may not be as confident with some dolls over others but maybe I’ll get there 😉

Sweetie when you use your sponge tare off the top part of it so it is more textured. Soft touch is good. Hunnybunns also makes a good one. Ultra Matt sealer. By waterborne. When I paint I do 3 layers of matte.

I have tried this with 2 different McPherson's air dry mattes and damaged the dolls I used it on :/ One turned all chalky and the other peeled off later...I am really disappointed and am now afraid to matte any doll :/. I'm glad you had a good experience!! Simone xo

That’s so disappointing. It’s nerve wracking to be willing to go for it in the first place and then to have that happen. Hopefully just the varnish peeled off without the paint! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

It was dry quick, but I let it sit overnight before I moved her ☺️😉

The two I showed were Art Deco Americana Soft Touch, and RebornFX Ultra Matte from MacPherson
